Zero Tolerance: There is zero tolerance for hate speech, discriminatory language, and imagery or symbolism that depicts such in this group. Any person/player who uses the aforementioned things in any areas of the group, including the forums on RPR, characters pages, and discord server, will be removed and banned. Being anti-vampire, anti-fae, anti-any mythical creature, or a supernatural creature that is anti-human is absolutely not the same as being hateful or discriminatory against people who have faced adversity due to their ethnicity, sexual orientation, or disability in the real world.
Respect: People have boundaries and it should go without saying that you should be respectful of that. You and your characters are only as powerful as other players let you be. Think logically, think logistically. Keep IC conflict and spats IC. A fight between characters shouldn't turn into a feud OOC. Treat others how you would like to be treated. Furthermore, no two people will have the same views of everything. Be mindful of different views people have and don't argue about them. Not everyone's personalities will mesh, not everyone will have the same RP or writing style, and that's okay.
Don't Be Stupid: Think about your actions and words, how they would affect others, and how they would make others feel. No one wants to deal with an unpleasant person or a difficult person who argues everything, especially when it comes to a hobby that's supposed to be fun and relaxing. No one likes to have their creations and creativity stolen, copied, insulted, or picked apart.
Time & Muse: Many people have jobs, in addition to family and home life obligations. With a lot of things going on in people's lives, sometimes the muse to write isn't there even if they are chatting OOC. Please have patience with people and keep in mind that being around for OOC banter is not the same thing as having the mind to write RP.
Player Agency: YOU do NOT get to kill or destroy other people’s creations. End of story. If you both decide and agree on it that’s okay, but only the creator of a character can decide what is acceptable for their creations. From characters to items, to follower NPC's, to even their IC homes players get the final say in what happens to their creations. If you have an idea that will invade another player's agency simply ask them first.
Communication Communication: Communication is key. We all need to feel comfortable enough to say what we want, if we can’t what’s the point? If you want romance, don't make others read your mind - tell someone! Learn about other people’s characters by talking to the writer about them. And if someone doesn't want the same sort of RP as another, their desires should be respected. Side note; just because you talked or joked about something does not mean you are entitled to anything or that a promise was made.
Continuity: Hey, YOU were the one who chose the character, you created them from your ideas! Don’t besmirch them by trying to be everything and nothing all at the same time. Your character's an asshole? COOL! Play it, own it. Your character did something big? AWESOME! Just remember they did it and it's not something easily written away. Maybe it isn’t important to you or your character, but it may have sculpted another character into a different person. When our character's actions affect the world it's best to keep that consistent.
Seriously: It's worth repeating...Respect! Just be cool with one another. Don’t blow stuff out of proportion just because of a misunderstanding. If someone misspells something, just go past it. If someone makes a mistake move past it or talk about it like an adult. This is a HOBBY, for FUN, not some book editing club. And it's really not worth getting caught up over the small stuff.
And Finally: If you are upset by something, made to feel uncomfortable, or don’t approve of language being used, please speak up. People aren't mind readers and it's tricky to decipher tone via written words. If you feel like you can't speak up, just simply dismiss yourself from the situation. You don’t have to play out or participate in anything that makes you feel uncomfortable.
