A Pholezia is a human...ish creature with 6 wings, a pair of cat ears and a strange looking tail apart from some other odd features!
Females
have 6 feathery wings, a feline like tail ended with feathers and embedded with a colored gem, and a couple very small feather covered scales encircling their waist as well as their calves.
Males
are much more dragon like in appearance. Still having a human...ish body and a pair of feline like ears but their wings resemble a dragons, still totaling six. Tail resembles a dragons, and both arms and legs are scaled up to the hips and shoulders. One shoulder is always embedded with a colored gem, and feet and hands are clawed.
Fangs
Pholezia have two pairs of fangs similar to the sort a vampire would possess. They do not turn other beings, they are however venomous. Females have a venom that works similar to adrenaline helping with pain and energy, though if enough is deliberately injected it can potentially cause a heart attack. Males have a venom that is temporarily paralytic.
Magic
All Pholezia are capable of using magic. Their colored Gems are a mark of sorts indicating what magic they are able to use. Magic is based on their parents and compatible magic. They can wield 2 magics total and this pair of magics can not be conflicting (Usually. There are however rare instances of something conflicting, or a third element. This can cause various problems.). Pholezia born of a single magic alignment have stronger magic as it is not split between two elements. Magic improves and strengthens with age and in areas rich with the matching element.
Primary Magic
The primary magic alignment of a Pholezia will always act as the core for their casting. For example, fire as a primary with light as a secondary, all magic would use fire as a base.
Magic Weaknesses
Weakness when it comes to magic alignments is based around the Pholezia's primary magic. Water as a primary, earth as a weakness, fire as a primary, water as a weakness, dark as a primary, light as a weakness, earth as a primary, fire as a weakness and so on. A drenched fire aligned can't cast, water is absorbed by earth, dark and light are equal to each other, the stronger magic will overpower in this case and so on.
Elemental Pros and Cons
With the magic of a Pholezia comes some interesting pros and cons. Fire types are immune to any heat damage. Fire would be harmless to them. Water types do not suffocate, ice types do not freeze and so on. This does of course come with cons. Fire types do not do well with water or cold, ice types have trouble with fire and heat. Dark types see very well at night. Certain poisons do work, but these creatures are not 'turnable'.
Stone Sense
Pholezia can sense others of their kind as long as there body has a alignment gem. Though they can sense their own kind nearby this way they can not sense who it is exactly.
Breeding and Compatibility
Pholezia are compatible with creatures that have some level of resemblance to their appearance. This includes Pholezia, Demonic species, Angelic species, Humans, Elves, Vampires, Dragons, and Phoenix as the strongest compatibilities. Some other species are also compatible but not all are known. Winged beings take a little easier but anything that isn't a Pholezia still has a greatly reduced chance. IF a female does become pregnant the two feather covered scales across their waist come into play. At this time the two scales become a lot thicker and harder to protect their body as they are carrying, offering greatly increased physical protection for the baby. Chances of a pregnancy are increased when the belly scales are already a little thick and the color of the feathers there shift, this is the time the body is more 'receptive'.
Gestation
The length of a pregnancy can vary, usually this hinges on the babies number of wings. Ranging from 6-9 months. A pure blood will always take close to the full 9 months, crossing with other species will almost always result in a shorter gestation.
Family Unit
Similar to lions though not entirely, it is not uncommon for Pholezia to have a couple strong mates, forming a small group. This is for protection, strong blood lines and the crossing of elements. A small group makes for a very strong defense. The difference with this being they do not try to kill the young of other mates. They are very protective of their own kind, especially the males. Females are extremely protective of young, sometimes even the young of other species given their strong maternal instinct. Often times even cradling and protecting the young of others against their body with their two protective scales. A strong family unit is not something to be taken lightly.
SoulWeaving
Pholezia that are born can connect a departed Pholezian soul with a suitable shell, Pholezia that are soul weaves can not. The shell must be strong enough otherwise the body will reject the soul resulting in a great deal of damage, or worse case scenario, death. SoulWeaving is unpredictable as the soul can not be chosen, the element can not be decided...whatever answers first is what will try to bind. The process is also extremely taxing for the one performing the fusion. The fusion will either grant the shell 1-2 magic alignments they will be able to cast from going forward, or if it is a fully successful fusion, they will become a new Pholezian very painfully. The less Pholezian traits the shell has, the more painful and long the process will take. The one performing the fusion needs time to rest after to regain their strength. 2-3 days. The shell can gain every physical trait except the feline like ears and the horns. For this reason it is easy to tell a born Pholezia and a soul weaved one apart. (A Shell is a host body, ie a human or other non-pholezia)
Claiming
When it comes to mating with Pholezia the male will usually choose a mate during a sort of flying ritual. The male must catch the female in flight and reach the ground still carrying the female without her escaping. If this is successful the female becomes the males chosen mate through this ritual of claiming. This is where the male's paralytic venom comes in to end the chase once catching up to the intended mate. Claiming can be broken by the flight or fight response when the fight response ends up being triggered to protect ones life. Such as if a mate tries to kill the one they have bonded with and they need to protect themself.
