THE RULES

  • DISCLAIMER

As we all know in our RPing experience, Rules and Guidelines can sometimes feel like a living thing. Sometimes adjustments need to be made on the fly, as issues arise, or unforeseen scenarios manifest. As Such, the rules here are designed to be the helpful guidelines to create a safe and fluid RPing environment for us all to enjoy as passionate writers and content creators. It is never our intention to ever make sudden changes or revisions, but, as stated, sometimes we have to respond to the cards we are dealt. Thank you!
  • THE RULES

    1. All Characters being in the group at all, means that they are approved and ready for RP. The Application process is in place so that the MODs can review a character before it is even granted access to the group. During this app and review process, if anything sticks out about the character that needs to be addressed, it will be done then. We are not trying to be sticks in the mud or bog anything down. Despite the wall of text down below that follows, we are trying to be as laid back and easy going as possible. So, if your character is in the group, thats all you need! No further character sheet or anything else!
    2. All Characters must abide to the age requirement of being 18+ to be used actively in the RP. Due to the content involved in this RP, at no point are Minors allowed to actively be RPed. Occasional NPC usage of younger characters may be used only for the purpose of setting a scene and making the city feel more alive. (Example: Kids having fun on the boardwalk or at the beach.)
    3. No active character limit in place!!! Feel free to make as many characters as you want! Just dont leave stories sitting in the dust that others are waiting to finish, because you want to play someone else. Dont leave your partners hanging! Its a city though! Play as many faces as you feel you can handle. Just dont burn yourself out. ((You will, if you go too hard in the paint lol))
    4. OOC =/= IC : Please know the difference between OOC and IC content! Be aware that as creative writers, all manner of content is produced in our brains. And to make a good story, there is expected to be drama, conflict, and jading material that is meant to hook, engage, and capture the readers interest. Just because someone plays an evil character, or their character does unacceptable things, Does Not Mean It Reflects The Writer!
    5. Failed RP: This is a term which refers to the breaking of the RP Mold. If any content submitted IC takes a drastic step away from the world we have created as a whole, it can be flagged as Failed RP, and is to be disregarded. Examples of this would be things like, Introducing Overly Advanced Sci-Fi Weapons. Humans or Human appearing figures showing up. Or directly breaking any established plot structures and development pace of an ongoing story. In short, a lot of Failed RP boils down to 'The Winner' mentality. In RP, there are no winners and losers. We are supposed to make sure everyone is having fun, and to do so, there has to be Give and Take. Lets all have fun, and make sure we are helping others have fun too!
    6. Triggering Content and The Right of Separation: In a group full of creative writers, content comes in many forms. By joining this group, you have already acknowledged that this is a +18 Group and for Mature Audiences. Our content warning has already been stated in the Welcome Page as well. But, that does not mean its impossible for someone to still become discomforted or triggered by content that arrives IC. If you ever find yourself in one of these situations, please keep the following in mind. 1) You can always talk to Mod or Staff about the Content, to let us decide whether or not is is acceptable or must be taken down. 2) You have The Right of Separation. Being in this group, you accept there is always the risk of triggering content. As such, you have the ability to remove yourself from anything that you deem uncomfortable. Politely bow out. Instead of posting an IC reply, or making any comments elsewhere on the forums, simply post in the uncomfortable thread- BOWING OUT. This will notify your partner that you needed to leave that scene, WITH NO QUESTIONS ASKED! But please also bare in mind- Content that might make you uncomfortable does not automatically make it wrong. As writers, it is no ones intention to make others uncomfortable or feel unsafe. As such, any case should they ever arise, shall be dealt with case by case.
    7. We use the Term, Intersex: This rule pertains to characters who are 'Different of Anatomy,' as they so often come up in the Anthro Environment of Content. On RPR, there is a blanket rule that does permit the use of certain terms: Futa and Hermaphrodite. RPR also directly acknowledges that these words, while not against the rules of usage, are still considered to be a Slang and can be offensive to others. After speaking personally with individuals who have been affected by these slang terms, Mod and Staff have adopted these affected individuals accepted terminology in place of the slang. INTERSEX. There is to be no discussion or debate of definitions, as this is a rule to protect individuals who have in the past, or still today feel attacked by slang words pertaining to these 'Different of Anatomy' Characters. If you plan on making a character who fits into these guidelines, please only use the term 'Intersex' whether it is OOC or IC.
    8. Post Requirement: 1 Paragraph minimum. 5 sentences yall! Otherwise, no one will get anywhere with their scenes. We also believe in 'Mirror Posting' or 'Keeping it Moving.' This means, in short, keeping up with your partner. If one writer is delivering a single Paragraph, you should try your best to match their pace, so there is enough content being provided to be responded to. This does not, however, mean you have to match their 10 Paragraph post! Just make sure you always post enough content where no one feels like they are struggling to stay above water.
    9. Consent in RP and Knowingly Writing Sensitive Content: Don't do anything crazy without your writing partners consent. If you and all involved in the scene consent to the material being produced though, have at it! But do keep in mind other people who might not be in the scene, but maybe reading along! If you plan on making a scene, which knowingly could contain sensitive topics and material, please take a moment to deliver a Trigger Warning or Content Warning, so the readers are properly braced for impact. Basic violence and fight scenes are no big deal. Anything which feels like an Action Movie is probably ok, no matter what. But be conscious of the really sensitive topics. You shouldn't need examples. When in doubt if it will ok, just take it to PMs.
    10. Life Outside of RP: Dont forget that some people do in fact live some pretty hectic or busy schedules. While RPing is a passion and our hobby, we are not always at our computer, or able to check on things! Give your fellow writers time! Dont ever pester someone, no matter how eager you are. This goes for Mod and Staff too! Remember to give us a breather sometimes too! Running a group can be tough work. But its a labor of love! <3
    11. AND FINALLY... the most important rule of all. BE FUN, and HAVE FUN! Seriously! This is SO crucial, and sometimes people forget it! We are all here to have fun, and if you're not having fun, then someone else might not be either. So lets let loose! Be cool! Get Bubby with one another, and have a blast!
  • So, you ready?

If you managed to slog through that abominable wall of text, then we definitely think you are!!! If you didn't read the rules above though, please, take a step back and do so. You might find the application confusing if you skipped The Rules! *wink wink*

Otherwise! Awesome! So you think you're ready!? Go grab that Application and get to filling it out! Mod and Staff will get to approving it as soon as we see it and review it!

The Following Group Pages will further help you immerse yourself in the setting and story of the group, and how the RP will run! So dont forget to keep them in mind as you are building your character!!!

  • RULE ADDENDUMS

Listed here will be the occasional growing list of Addendum Rules. Things that are either being added to the list as general points, or that serve to answer questions that have come up, or cover other missed topics! Due to the nature of these Addendum's seemingly at random, being added to the list, we do not hold anyone directly accountable for missing them if they have been accepted to the group already. There is clearly the possibility that a player simply has not checked back here after reading the rules once, and having no future issues pertaining to them.

BUT! If you are reading this notice, then you now also know that Addendum rules might spontaneously show up! So, maybe take the occasional moment to click the rules tab in the future, and just make sure there's nothing in this bottom section that you've missed! <3

    ADDENDUMS
    • Kinks/Fetishes: Gonna keep this one quick and simple. We are very open minded here! ERP is allowed! Just be sure you know your audience, much like RULE 9!!! Make sure everyone is ok with it. Not everyones ERP style and preferences match up all the time with everyone else. This is mainly being used as a blanket statement about EXTREME FETISHES and KINKS. Again like RULE 9, you should not need examples. If it could make someone uncomfortable, take it to PM's. Or post a CONTENT WARNING signifying what sort of kink presence there might be inside a post, before an unprepared audience member reads it.
