Nu'Sin City

Now that you're in the group, you're probably wondering more about the world you'll be RPing in! For starters, let us first point out that this is the 3rd iteration of this group, and as such the world and is history in the city has been carved out very nicely! There is so much to see and do, and the region at large has been developed by hand by previous RPs and writer development! In this sandbox, we all get to create and shape the grounds we play in! Your actions can very well become permanent marks in the city lore or structure! But before you get to making your mark, lets take a quick look through the history, so you and your characters will be well equipped with the knowledge and knowhow you'll need to make your way around fluidly!

Everything you read in this first second is common knowledge. Characters far and wide know most of this, and as such, you can use it in your RPs to navigate the city, build story, and create what ever atmosphere you're trying to spin!

Welcome to the world! The earth your character stands on here is part of the world of Nu'Gaia. An Anthro universe taking place in a Semi-Futuristic age. This means the technology and sciences in the world are a touch more advanced than our IRL lives, but close enough in resemblance that they can be slipped into RP seamlessly without much explanation! So expect to see things like prototype flying cars. Advanced mag-rail trains and other transport systems. Clean energy. Personal breathing apparatus' for public purchase to swim deep under water! All your internet and web needs on a top notch system with clear access and reception almost anywhere you go! The beginning use of androids and robotics to carry out service tasks. So you see, nothing too over the top, but enough to tickle that creative itch of 'what if?!'

This level of technology is pretty equal across the world! A world where nations have pretty much now all been at peace with one another for generations! The pursuit of knowledge and preservation of the world has been at the forefront of Anthrokind for as long as folks can remember. Keeping the oceans, forests, and many geographical climates in balance has always been practiced, even with the steadily continuing development of new technology. Why is there all of this development, and acceleration into technology though? Well, a long time ago it was pretty much accepted that the world is pretty mundane on its own. Anthrokind being just what they were as what ever species they're born as, and now trying to co-exist with one another. All you see in television and TV shows, works of fiction, and all the fantasy of religion and cultural ways of life. It was all well and good to have both your culture, and your fantasies, but it was commonly accepted at face value that while you're alive here in Nu'Gaia, life is what you see. Physical. Present in the now. Nowhere to go but forward.

So, nations were build. Cultures developed. Religions spread. Everyone free to do as they wished. With free trade and understanding pretty much equally shared across all regions. Sol'Luna in the beginning was just another one of these regions. At first a tropical paradise, but eventually the grounds of some major leaps and bounds in the developing world. Very much with its own culture and walk of life too. Open trading and developing itself with the rest of Nu'Gaia.

Sol'Luna is a Tropical Paradise, geographically formed upon a Coastal Mountain Range, which gives the City and Region a lovely diversity between high and low altitudes. The City of Sol'Luna though, is nested on a geographical hook that stretches into the ocean, creating a natural bay on one side, while having direct ocean access on the opposite!

Was it mentioned that Sol'Luna is both the name of the Region itself, and the Capital City!? Don't go making a fool of yourself though. Locals dont say that they are from Sol'Luna Sol'Luna. Its known in Sol'Luna that if you just say it once, you're pretty much always talking about the city.

The city is divided into 2 major sections. Residential City, and Business City. One of the busiest places in Nu'Gaia is Business City Sol'Luna. With its towering skyscrapers, lengths of mag-rail tracks for speed trains, and all buzz and business you could want for both small mom and pop shops to major brand corporations! Business City is the hub for many major HQ's that provide for all of Nu'Gaia. But it doesnt take away at all from the Resident City. Surrounding BC, Resident city is made up of numerous districts which of course have its typical divisions of living. While its hard to say there are actually any impoverished areas in the city, there are clear divides from your wealthy elite to the more lower end living conditions available. As a whole, a city will always be a city. Theres always going to be its fair share of crime and other dealings. But the general consensus for most people is that it never actually takes away from the grandeur of the city!

Sol'Luna being the cultural destination that it is, many folks of Nu'Gaia love to be a part of it. The tropical paradise it has always been, developed a culture of luxury and pleasure. At first it was for tourists and vacationers, but even the residents of the city fell into loving it as well! You can taste the lust in the air around this city! Whether its for power, money, sex, or something else. Everyone around here has something that they want! And the culture speaks volumes about people being open, and pursuing their desires! Strip Clubs and Nude Beaches. Casinos and Gambling Tracks. Bars and Restaurants on every corner. Luxury Cars and Boats. Carnivals and Parties. Drugs and Alcohol aplenty! Nature in all of its abundance! Truly a city for all vices!

Never at the sacrifice of quality and safety. Will all this money, and technology flowing through the city, infrastructure was never neglected! Sol'Luna hosts professional and active divisions of Law Enforcement, Fire and Rescue Services, and Medical Services. All bolstered by the city economy and developments in technology. So always rest safe in the city, knowing that your best interests and safety are being looked after. Not to forget either its world renown education system. The Sol'Luna University offering only the best in education for its growing individuals!

In the World of Nu'Gaia, there is a name to the Adult Entertainment Industry. That name, is Nu'Pantheon.

Founded by CEO, Lex 'Atlas' Vaughn. A horse anthro, and mountain of a man! Atlas began small with his ambitions, opening up Nu'Pantheon as a small scale Pornography Studio in Business City Sol'Luna. With a special emphasis on local talent and local filming, his studio caught some traction especially with the Vacationing Crowd. Some clever marketing resonated well with the party going and club types, and soon his studio was busy filming what became known as 'The Local Luv Collection.' Where anyone could come an be on camera! Atlas put the scenes together, had the equipment and settings to make the magic, and it was all open stage for anyone who wanted to come have some fun! So much so, that outside of shooting, the Studio quickly developed into a Social Spot, for sex enthusiasts and bloggers. Partnering product manufacturers were quick to start rubbing elbows with Atlas as well, to get their toys and products in the films, and on the shelves at his studio.

Business exploded after his studio work moved to the web. Not just physical film production, and an outlet for novice stars, but now a whole web presence for marketing and viewership, with advertising space that all the businesses soon wanted part in! Move over, YiffHub. Nu'Pantheon was in business now, and Nu'Gaia at large was logging on to view the magic! Profits skyrocketed. The studio grew, and Atlas climbed the latter faster than anyone would have ever been prepared for, becoming the Tycoon of Adult Entertainment. Located right in Sol'Luna, and with the whole world watching and wanting more!

Partnerships and sponsorship around the city grew next! NP brands were everywhere! And with the cultural shift in Sol'Luna becoming one of vice and pleasures, no one was shy about the presence of a sex tycoon sponsoring events! The success of the business though grew beyond just that of sponsorships though. NP soon expanded into other realms of luxury in the city. Most notably. The Nighttime Club Scene! When NP opened its now Famous 'Club Predator,' the cuffs were off! Strip Club. Bar. Raves. Dance Floor. Live Entertainment. The city gobbled it up! Packing the doors every night at open, Club Predator partied until the sun came up. A little more tame, on the week days, but full on ragers every weekend. CP was the place to be!

With all this success and expansion, Atlas knew the company would only keep growing. With that growth came a new face in the game as well. His partner. Who would help Atlas next continue his growth and development of the business, stretching it into new heights and possibilities. While gathering still the most broad array of talent, content creators, and partnerships the company had ever come to know during its success across Nu'Gaia. Her name... Devon Nihasa.

What city is complete without the presence of a criminal organization? In Sol'Luna, everyone know of them, but no one really seems to know how it all works. They go by the name, The Underground. Not just for the rumors of them living under the streets, but because they stay out of the light of public eye. Ran and operated by a pair of Crime Lords known as 'The Grave Twins,' the Underground has long ago succeeded in its silent takeover of the criminal underbelly. Everyone who has any true business or dealings of the nefarious sort go through The Underground. Outside of your street urchins and riffraff, The Grave Twins collect from everyone. Drugs, Fences, Cheep Sex, Laundering, Wetwork. All the work your non-corporate criminals need to to in order to stay afloat. If you're going to survive the night, you best be rubbing elbows with the Twins.

If any rumors are closest to true about The Underground, its that they have a dominating presence during the nighttime, and that they have an unshakeable grip on Sol'Luna's Solstice Boardwalk! Under the veil of night but lights of the faire, all crime seems to just be missed or ignored among the crowds of thrill seekers, tourists, and screaming teenagers! Anyone operating on the boardwalk is rumored to be paying into the Underground. Given hush money to boost their business, but also paying their own dues for the luxury of working such a lucrative strip of the city!

Glad you've caught up now on the foundation of the world itself! Everything you've read above this message is considered to be common knowledge! So feel free to use it to spice up you scenes and characters how ever you feel fit! With your character Creation, this can help you solidify your background, and help you know where you character might have come from in this grand city!

Not all of this information you read now is necessarily common knowledge IC, but much of it is still known. Get a good feel for it, and we're sure you'll be able to make good sense of what is pretty open to use.

HELL ITSELF HAS RISEN!... AND ITS AMAZING!

5 Years ago, Devon Nihasa, became Mayor of Sol'Luna! Once just an angel investor, share holder, and partner in one of the city's lead companies, she took to the limelight in a way like no other. So it turned out, Devon Nihasa is The Devil! So with her charm and power, she turned the Region on its head and broke all barriers! From the oceans, a Gateway to Hell itself emerged from the depths, and carries forth from it goods and magical supplies never before seen to this world! With it, also came a phenomenon across the whole region. Known as THE SHIFT, a flow of energy poured forth from the Gate Opening which changed many of the inhabitants of the land! These people became known as The Shifted, and their significance crucial now in Sol'Luna's day to day. For these people were granted gifts! Powers of supernatural kind, woven into their very beings, shattering the very laws of physics and biology as now the tides of Hellish Magic have seeped into this world, and have rooted in deep!

...AND THE PEOPLE LOVE IT!

Sol'Luna had always been a land of riches, luxury, and opportunity! Now, however, even the very people here are gifted and are as special as this city itself! Devon Nihasa, even as the Devil she outed herself to be, skyrocketed in popularity. The city majority loves her, and what has become now of 'normal life.' All of which launching the city even further into this golden age they were already enjoying! Over the 5 years now, all new systems and regularities have settled into place. The Shifted, Demons, and 'Normies', all reside quite peacefully in the city! Nothing outside your usual street crimes, gangs, and others occurrences that could be found in any other city. Infrastructure has been elevated to accommodate The Shifted, Demons, and all the presence of powers around the city. Emergency Services, Police Enforcement, and all other forms of public service have also been reinforced with Shifted and Demons alike who abide to the new laws and structures set into place by Devon, to ensure peace and prosperity among her people.

But... If there is a Hell, is there not a heaven? And if there is a Heaven, why is it not here, catering to the lives of mortals and heightening life here on Nu'Gaia?

No one knows this answer, as the Heavens have always been, they are enigmatic in their ways. With the opening of the Hell Gate though, and Devon's stake of control here in this world, the Nu'War has begun! A silent battle between the Divine and the Infernal, as the Heavens now fight to try subduing the growing presence Hell is trying to take on this world. So it turns out, during The Shift, Heaven did respond as well. They released its own divinity into the city, unbeknownst to Devon. The Shifted are not just products of Hellish Magic, but Heavenly Magic as well. Some souls touched by the Divine, while others are touched by the Infernal. It is up to each and every individual in the city though to decide their own path in this life, and see where the roads take them! Whether they know it or not, they are all part of this invisible war. What is simply a land of people now thinking they are living their lives, is actually in fact the deciding of fate itself.

With the first undeniable glimpse of magic to the world abroad in centuries, reactions have varied!

Formerly a thriving resort city attracting anyone who’s anyone, playground for the rich and famous. Sol’Luna was a city of gorgeous beaches, high mountains and an endless supply of illicit entertainment.

In a city where sex, drugs, and murder were some of the primary exports is it any wonder that the devil herself found an easy home in the office of a mayor? Formerly at the reigns of a pornographic empire, Devon Nihasa traded her carnal throne for a gilded one. The president of a small nation along the coast of a continent, vast open seas and a narrow stretch of land to the north looking up at a wider continent. Sol Luna had always been a bit of an oddity, geographically isolated, sparse with resources. Historically the country’s only real boon was scenic views and seafood!

But then came crisis like no other, a surge of demons, a magical revival! People all across the nation had abilities awakening within them! It was utter chaos, people were frightened, the world at large thrown into chaos. Someone had to step up, make sense of all the confusion! Who better than the issue’s very cause?

So the devil took a country.

An announcement in style, having the woman stroll into the midst of an emergency meeting of world leaders with hellfire burning in her eyes did set a bit of a theme! Over the course of hours spent behind closed doors the very foundations of the world were rocked, but not toppled. The devil hadn’t come to burn the world and wrest the thrones of men from their control, no she’d come to play! With her came magic, coin, opportunity, and a gate to the underworld conveniently under her control! So Sol’Luna revels like never before, the city's sins now it’s identity as a whole. The world watches and waits with bated breath, as demons soar to the heights of celebrities, and trade flows free. Across the mountains and the sea come technology and magic the earth has never known. Under the watchful eyes of hell the city slowly cements its new position, more and more leaders fall prey to the charms and vice it has to offer…

It has not been a quiet 5 years across the world. Nations have not only taken notice to the oddities of Sol'Luna, but they have directly engaged with it! Devon Nihasa has been anything but shy on the whole matter, and as the new Political Leader of Sol'Luna, she has taken much needed time away from the city to visit her neighboring nations, as well as distant ones. No one has been robbed of the opportunity to meet the Devil themselves, and hear what she has to say. And ultimately, many of them are listening.

Devon brings promise of Magic and Powerful Artifacts and Resources from the depths of hell. All for the simple exchange of influence. Her influence that is, to start reigning over other nations and unite the world slowly under a new Hellish shaped structure. While opportunities are quite tempting, that is not to say everyone is just kneeling down to her. These are still strong, independent nations at work, with their own agendas, and people pulling the strings. No one is willing to just surrender their power to the Devil, who is not making any threats. It has all been peaceful, and constructive. Deals and arrangements in the works. Negotiations with Devon to perhaps consider similar overhauls as she has done to Sol'Luna in their own lands, but to stay under control of their current political figures. Obviously there is much to work out, and the talking continues. Mouths wet at the wonders they witness day by day being produced and performed in Sol'Luna by Devon's people.

Travel to and from Sol'Luna has since been more complicated, as every nation has their own rules and regulations with how they wish to deal with the presence of The Shifted and Demons. Common Practice is to keep all population of Shifted and Demons within Sol'Luna. Business operations and trade is to continue though, and the required personnel from Sol'Luna regardless of their meta-state, are authorized to conduct business abroad, so long as they are to return to Sol'Luna following the completion of their business. As for vacationing, and visiting the city though, Sol'Luna has left its doors open! Anyone is free to come and visit! As it has been studied in the 5 years that those who were not present during the Hell Gate Opening do not seem to be affected by the now present hellish energies. Visiting Sol'Luna will not shift someone who was not there in the beginning, and thus, it remains safe to let them travel to and from Sol'Luna without issue returning home.

In this RP we pride ourselves in developing a 'Living Story,' which grows and develops based off the participants. It is your actions and involvement, and how you wish to drive outcomes, which will shape the story as a whole. For every event and plot, we have a direction that we are following, but results come from you!

How about downtime, and what else you can do? No Events or Main Story going on, and you're looking for something to do? Feel free to spin up your own scenes, and make use of our playground! Heck, even run your own mini event if you'd like! Throw a party, a competition, or anything you'd like! So long as its not world altering or harmful to the ongoing plot and story, you dont need permission!
