Death and Survival

Initial Setup: The setting takes place in a medium-sized town with plenty of shops and a handful of restaurants. It's fairly bustling and on the rise with population. It's a few days before the end of the world and right now everyone in it are oblivious to what is about to happen. With several job openings at most of the shops, including the pet store, things seem to be an average typical day. Nothing alarming to be noticed by anyone. Even the clinics and hospitals are rather quiet and slow.

Setting: Modern with apocalyptic elements, heavy graphic scenes of both violence and blood.

Race: Humans only.

Info about the Virus: The virus is quick to spread and thought to be incurable. While it initially kills the person, the body is made to keep going. After all, without a proper host, the virus cannot survive. It affects only humans and cannot survive in any other species, whether plant-based or otherwise. It isn't known exactly why, but it does not mutate like other viruses. Plus, it's impossible to know for certain when or where one contracts it, either. The virus has a very wide range of symptoms and can mimic nearly everything from a common cold to the more severe flu, etc.

The Affected: Those that come into contact with the virus can have symptoms anywhere from mild runny noses, to vomiting up blood uncontrollably. Once infected, the victim will have between an hour to a few days. (Four if their lucky.) Immediately after death, the skin will become slimy, making it difficult to grasp. The eyes will lose their natural color and turn a spoiled milk coloration instead. The smell they give off can be enough to induce nausea or vomiting. Sound and movement are their primary triggers of aggression. They rarely ever wander alone. Groups of three or more are common sights. If groups cross paths with each other, then they will end up forming a horde and continue to wander. At night, however, they tend to stay still. (With the exception of sound or motion catching their attention.) Lastly, those who are fresh-turned will be loud at first and wail whenever they attack. This is to draw attention for others to attack en masse.

Immunity: Yes, there will be a handful of survivors who will be immune. No matter how many times they are bitten, the virus will not kill them. However, it may still cause mild to severe symptoms from time to time. Also, immune persons are still able to transmit the virus through bodily fluids. (i.e., saliva, blood transfusions, etc.)

**Those immune will be kept low for the sake of balance. Please do not assume your character to automatically have this. Ask permission from an admin, first. But be prepared in case you're told no.**

Lastly: The RP will contain some triggering things like: heavy graphic violence, terror and scenes that will make the squeamish hurl. If you are easily triggered, then please, this RP is not for you. Those with a strong tolerance for this particular theme is what we're looking for.
