The Winds are often depicted as the spokes on a wheel, constantly turning in a predictable cycle where one after another is on top. Ebbing and flowing like the tide, the strength of each Wind of Magic rises and falls with each lunar month, and so 8 months makes up a year on the continent. The Wind of Heavens is different however, depicted as a starry void surrounding the wheel, and remains in constant flow during the year.

The only form of magic that defys the wheel is blood magic, as rather than tap into the Winds of Magic, it uses blood as fuel for the spell. Mostly used by the Bloodlords to maintain their domains, all other nations have abolished its practice and study. However certain cults and choice practitioners do continue to incognito.

The wheel is depicted as such, with each month lasting 30 days;

Aurelia - Light - Summer
