Introduction
Apollo is the name of the planet on which our stories take place here. Heavily influenced by Earthling customs, Apollo is sometimes looked at as a second Earth, because it's the only planet that possesses artifacts which came directly from Earth. Its population is small compared to Earth's, but Apollo is also home to diverse and unique wildlife and nature, including demihumans, anthros, sentient ferals, and even sentient plant life. The nations within Apollo live generally in peace, all inspired and reigned over by different forms of government.
The stories on Apollo take place roughly 6000 years after Earth was destroyed by their sun. Since then, Earthlings had migrated to the nearest planet, Mars, and launched a large Time Capsule into orbit which contained priceless Earthling specimens of animals, literature and research. Primitive Apollan scientists happened upon it, and built the planet's first observatory and science center upon the crater left by the capsule. That was when the first Apollan year was recorded, and scientists introduced Earthling animals and language to Apollo.
A couple of millenia after these advancements, Mars was struck by a meteor, its sole survivors emigrating to Apollo and finding a friendly yet foreign landscape of blue grass and an ominously red sky. Its inhabitants were curious about their visitors, and Martian humans were welcomed whole-heartedly to Apollo by Apollan humans. (I would hope so, the last Martians to survive the meteor spent YEARS on their escape shuttle.)
Today, Apollo is a thriving world of whimsy and diversity, where all species have an interesting story to share.
Continents
Home - The most populated of the three mainlands, Home is home to mountainous Amberwood, a bustling place with lots to do. Amberwood City, shortened to Amb by its natives, attracts tourists from around the world to its large library, its beautiful park, and its historical theater. Some have complained that its government is unfair, but it doesn't affect their population or tourism. Amberwood is also where the Martians landed when they reached Apollo.
Faunis - A desert continent closer to the sun than Home - so close, night time is very rare here. Even so, many anthropomorphic creatures call this continent their home, and are likely to come from Aliba, its central nation. Run by a king and queen, Aliba's natives have very small stature, most average-sized humans towering more than two feet over them. Alibans utilize a lot of shade and air conditioning, making the sunny, perpetual day more bearable.
Botania - A small island rain forest south of Home and Faunis. This island houses sentient plant life and a rare species of furred dragon more than anything else, but has also been an escape from the sun for many Faunites as well. The strikingly blue foliage can be beautiful to look at, but also able to join your conversation... Many Apollans visit Botania to do just this, enjoying the stories of the creatures, many of whom have spent hundreds of years living on the island.
