Kalara stood there, staring down her opponent. In her hands, she gripped a bat'leth, a traditional Klingon melee weapon. "Let's do this!"
Night raised her hand to the hilt of her massive greatsword and drew it over her shoulder, nodding agreement. She took a ready stance and waited for her opponent's first move, watching her carefully through her mask.
With a bellow, Kalara charges forwards, her bat'leth raised. "QI'yaH!"
Seeing her opponent go on the offensive first, Night braces herself with a wide stance. The arena rung with the first sound of metal-on-metal as the warrior's two-bladed sword met her own two-handed greatsword. Placing her weight on her left leg, which was slightly farther back from her right, she pushed forward, intending to shove her opponent away and exploit any opening that might present itself for a counter.
These were routine motions for her, but she knew by the strength of the impact that she was not dealing with simple rabble. Time would tell if her opponent's battle-savvy matched her raw strength.

"Rrrgh!" Kalara pushed back, her feet firmly planted on the ground as she parried Night's attack. She twisted her bat'leth slightly, thrusting it outwards and attempting to force Night out of balance.
So this one preferred strength, and clearly had the muscle for that preference. Night was not without build herself, but didn't want to waste all of her energy this early into the fight. Kalara's re-angling of her blade broke their engagement, causing Night to falter only briefly before leaping back and to the side. Had she been more committed to the assault, her fumble might have been more severe.
Now, she slowly circled her opponent, weapon at the ready.
(Sorry. Just found time to reply again.)

Kalara matched Night's movements, placing her bat'leth in its sheath on her back with one hand while drawing a smaller mek'leth with her other. "Ha!" She lunges at Night, hoping to gain a better hit with the smaller weapon.
