At the heart of the Amhuinn Forest, demons can spawn and prey on the denizens of the forest. Demons can only enter the world if they are summoned and they can only enter through the Amhuinn Forest. Try to summon a demon at home and it will show up in the forest, left to it's own devices.
All demons spawn as small, low ranking creatures that must evolve in order to gain sentience. While demons don't die, they can be banished from the world. If they're ever summoned again, they will respawn in the heart of the Amhuinn Forest at their lowest rank, just as before. They do not retain memories until they reach the rank in which their previous life ended.
Demons can be summoned by any race, though humans seem to have a better chance at succeeding. If the summoner is competent enough, they can summon a demon at whichever rank they choose. If they're truly skilled, they can bind a demon to them and make it their slave.
