"This is Sam; leave a message and I'll get back to you."

Sam Winchester finds himself alone in this hunting life, a path that he swore to leave behind a long time ago, when all he wanted was not more nor less than follow his studies and and walk out of this curse. Things took a drastic turn as he was dragged back into this, and slowly discovered he couldn't escape it even if he tried as hard as he could, he was tangled in from the inside out, him and his brother: Dean Winchester. It wasn't all that bad living along his eldest brother, the overprotective and super demanding Dean Winchester. If he was to be honest, he was glad that he chose this path, it was his best choice to stick by the family's path and taking in his hands the family business 'Saving people, hunting things, the family business' as John Winchester, the brothers dad and Dean himself would say.

As in for lately the brothers had gone throught an ugly fight where they weren't on the same page about some things, bad things were said and tossed at each other, feelings were hurt and from that point on they departed ways. With Sam knowledge and experience, he was more than capable of going throught this on his own and he committed himself to help whoever he could that he might come accross in his path. He will continue with this life with or without Dean, no matter how hard it was for him, how badly he wished to fix things. Dean's pride would never allow him near again without a big drama before they settle in peace.
"God I don't even know if I have the right number..." there's the sound of fingers tapping anxiously on a wooden table in the background.

"I don't know if you're even the right person, but I'd rather sound like a nut then not do anything. I just-someone-no, something, god it wasn't a person, there's no way that was a person, was in my house, I thought it was my girlfriend at first, hell, it looked just like my girlfriend, but something felt off, I'm usually so comfortable around her, but I was so on edge the moment I saw them."

There's a pause in the voice mail a sucked in breath, and then the words continue, "I-I hit her-them, with a pot. It's this really old thing, I've had it for years, and I just took it and beamed the thing over the head with it. And-And they burned? Or it left a burn, I don't know, but they ran, broke one of my windows. I don't know where my girlfriend is and I'm really scared that thing is going to come back. I live up in Ohio, my name's Mariana, and there ain't many folks around here, a lot of woods and I'm all alone, and- please...please, I just need somebody to help me.."

There's sniffles like Mariana's trying to hold back tears as she says her phone number and a "If you are the right person, please call me back, I don't know what to do..." Before the voicemail ends.
It had been a long time since Sam had received any messages or calls, so it had been rather calm lately, too calm for his own sake. After the disturbing argument with Dean, the young male could use some sort of a distraction, anything to keep his mind from overthinking it. You see, as much as the brothers tend to bump heads, disagree on some aspects and decisions in life, they love each other more than anything in this world, and besides, they are the only family they have left to one another.

Heaving a deep breath, Sam was just about to settle down his cellphone and resist the struggle to call Dean and make an attempt at fixing their present situation. The boy didn't like the way things were left between them. It wasn't like old times when he chose high school over hunting life. Back then, he was able to stay away from his brother and their stubborn dad. Now more than ever, he has grown used to them being together in this, and he worries about Dean so much. If it weren't for that voice mail notification that came rushing into his device so suddenly and unexpectedly, he'd probably succumb to actually reaching out for his brother. However, now he'd listen to this, and hopefully he'd have a job to keep his mind busy. He'd do what he was raised to: 'Saving people, hunting things...'

With the phone on high speaker, he frowns at the sound of a very frightened female in distress as she explains to him why she was calling him. It was clearly the voice of someone who was, for the first time, faced with facts that fewer humans are... and usually most freak out with. Such a reality as the existence of other beings beyond our understanding can instigate many reactions from us, and not everyone reacts the same. Some go through a denial process, others face it in ways that aren't so efficient, cause how would they know how to face something unknown to them, right? Right. And a few others end up accepting that this is beyond them and reaching out for help, like this wise lady is doing.

Luckily for her, she was contacting the right person. Sam knew what he was doing, and judging by the sound of it, he could form a few guesses of what it could it be, what took her girlfriend and attacked her in her place. It could be a ghost or a shapshifter, considering she said she hit it with a pot and it burned. It could be iron, in both cases, those monsters don't take it well, and it usually burns them good. Returning the call as he drives off to Ohio, where she said she lived at, he waits patiently hoping that someone on the other side answers him. If not, he'd have to leave a message letting her know that he's on his way and he needs her address or at least a meeting place so they can have a decent conversation about this. Overall, this woman is in danger, and she needs his help, so he better hurry up. Damn, if his dad would be proud of him right now, so proud.
Mariana hadn't been sure she'd get a call back, she had no idea how they operated. From the moment she hung up after making that first call she'd keep the phone close, just in case. She hadn't wanted to miss it if the other called her back.

So she was right there when he did call her back.

"H-Hello?" Mariana glanced around the room as she holds the phone up to her ear. Obviously she's scared. Considering what happened to her, it was only logical that she would be terrified. It been a hard time, worrying about that thing coming back to try to get her again at any point.
As the younger Winchester was very close to reaching his desired destiny in Ohio, he made the call to the frightened lady in danger who had contacted him by mail just a few hours ago. The man needed to know where she lived so he could meet her and they could take care of this.

As he drove in the dark evening, he called her back, hoping she'd answer, and she did. "Hey, it's Sam... I, um... I heard your voicemail, and it's okay. I'm on my way over, okay? I promise." Sam assured her, letting her know that he was on his way, trying to comfort the poor woman since she sounded so scared. It was only natural, of course, but Sam, given his nature, wasn't very fond of standing still while someone needed help. If there was anything he liked about his life as a hunter, which had taken so much away from him, it was this: being able to help people, to save them...

"I just need to know where to find you. In the meantime, don't open the door to anyone, not until I call you back. Alright?" He advised her, as it was the only way he could protect her while he was not with her in person.
