If you've been following me for a while, you may know what I paint a lot in VR (virtual reality) in an oil painting simulator called Vermillion. :) I have a whole range of paintings from 2022, but I won't spam this topic with those.

(Instead, follow my socials: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter] and YouTube! I'm uploading most of them on there.)

This topic will hold my WIPs and finished paintings, as well as any videos I'm putting out. For livestreams you'll need to follow my YouTube and get notifications.
WIP:

Ocean Waves! I started this painting on stream, and will be finishing it off stream. :) This is my latest save.

A dark VR painting with blue hues to depict dark ocean water, it's unfinished with about half the splotches of sea foam visible.
WIP:

The Disgruntled Mermaid. Started this as a speedpaint video, and I'm a little at a loss for how to finish up the background and what to do with her hands. The jellyfish just aren't what I wanted them to be so I might do those over, I'm not sure yet. I'm also thinking of having her hold up a fishing net with a dagger or something like that!

A dark and gloomy virtual reality oil painting; light filters through the murky water from the top. In the middle of the canvas is a mermaid, a displeased expression on her face, floating with one arm above her head and the other next to her body.
Finished:

Misty Forest. My goal was to complete a painting in (under) 2 hours on stream, no breaks, no leaving it unfinished. I used a reference image and I'm super pleased with how it turned out! Bonus speedpaint video. :D

VR oil painting of a misty mountain range, covered in a dense forest. The dominant colors are deep hues of blue, moving towards green in the front.

Sanne, I absolutely love your work--the lighting in the mermaid painting is so beautiful and moody. I'm so excited to catch more of your streams!
Thank you so much ogle!! <3 (I'm so sorry I'm late with responding to that message!)

I've been in a bit of a rut with several sudden big life changes, but I finally settled down to paint something quick in 15 minutes.

A moody VR oil painting featuring a dusky ocean. The sky is an almost unsettling color of desaturated orange and yellow with whisps of clouds in the distance. A pale yellow moon hangs in the sky with a few stars dotted here and there. The ocean is a desaturated color of purple and blues, with bright shimmery yellow reflections from the moon.
Sanne, that's gorgeous.
My friends and I used to follow Bob Ross episodes and see how much we can replicate and make whoever gave up first handle dinner
This makes me want to do that again lol

Thank you so much!! There are a lot of Bob Ross inspired tutorials for this VR app cause it absolutely lends itself well to that style lol. The first tutorial I followed was inspired by him!! Highly recommend, it's a fun way to paint. :D
oceanscape makes my heart hurt it's so beautiful!

and i am t h i r s t y for how clear and crisp the vr paints are, what a time to be alive!
I need someone to kick my booty cause I keep not painting when I mean to. XD

Ok, for some reason, this made me a bit emotional. I felt a specific emotion I couldn't name... It's probably the wonderful palette. I have a weird feeling of nostalgia. When I look at this artwork, I immediately get a memory of me as a kid on a school trip to the sea, standing on a pier. I also lost my identification cappy due to the strong wind and was sad because of that, lol. ;_; It was long ago, but I SWEAR, this was the color pallette of the sky and water back then!

Sorry for being so dramatic, but every time I remember something pleasant from my past, I feel safe, because, at some point in my life, I lost many memories due to depression and PTSD, so remembering something not-sad from my childhood is often a miracle, hehe

I also had no idea there are VR painting simulators! I need to try it after I get the money for a VR set. I can't paint much in my home due to lack of space and the fact that I often waste money on paint, try to paint, get angry at a mistake I can't ctrl+z, then all of my precious paint dries or gets stinky from not using it. :( Also, Sanne, do you know any other cool VR creative programs? So far, I only found some VR chatrooms with creative creation options (NeosVR), which are important for me since I always dreamed of flying, and VR might help me experience that, hehe 🦋
