1656-1671 America
When made landing on the shores of the Americas he could all but smell Landon's scent mixed in with the smell of the pines. It had been centuries since they lost saw each other, so long but they are bonded friends even if not technically pack mates and as close to kin as he had. He knew Landon had been here and made paw prints here on this land, still only an Alpha of wolves he was eager to find his friend again, though it took many years before they finally crossed paths again, and again and again.
Though both were once lone wolves it was Landon who found a mate and built a family, and Pack. He was no longer a chieftain, or chief in this new land he was also an Alpha, gathering their own kin and building the Blood Moon Pack. Rezso hadn't been absent, though set on his own path that didn't always align with Landon's they never forgot what it meant to be kin, even if they were never packed mates in the new world, they would always be Bróðirs bounded by blood and fire of a bygone age.
So when Rezso found out that his pack was growing with pups of his own, he made a special trip to come to stay with the Blood Moons, his own wolf pack in tow. So he had been there when the Morning Star was born, it was a special moment for Rezso, more than just the birth of a healthy baby girl, but it was the re-emergence of their kind. While the Therians might be no more, his kin evolved and grew and was growing once more. Even this young pup was a mixture of two bloodlines, offering her strengths and abilities that previous generations hadn't known. Like much of what the Americas were to become, that mixture pots of races and cultures, it was no different for Lycan kind.
Rezso was one the first to hold the pup outside of his parents, and it did rankle some of the pack, but none had the past that Landon and Rezso shared. So rather than usual, it was the pack's scent that the babe took in after their parents but it was Rezso, Afi, or Uncle as Landon named him, and so it was.
Rezso never stopped being part of Aubree's life, he showed up for many of her birthdays or just to visit, and soon he was spending as much time with her as he was with Landon. Rezso never having had his own true pups in all these years took to her and they became fast friends. Rezso too often teaches her playful bad habits bringing her things he shouldn't, teaching her the right herbs to eat and roll in and later smoking. He talked to her about boys, and the simple pleasures of life, they would go running with his pack, letting her forget the life of the Lycan or Human and just be a wolf for days on end with him. She was his family as much as Landon was.
So when started changing Rezso returned to stay with the pack for a while, she was a few years away from what was expected of her first change. Her parents were losing control she was shirking her duties and spending her time out partying, they couldn't get through to her and so Rezso came to stay once more.
Naturally, he wouldn't just show up announced, no he showed up at one of her friend's parties, while they had their own private bonfire out in the woods Rezso just strolls up like he was one of the group. He grabs whatever sort of booze is around for himself and starts to mingle, while at first everyone was on edge, he was an adult naturally they were in trouble. That was until he suddenly pulled out a joint and asked, "Anyone mind?" He says with a wink not waiting for permission as he sparked the joint, and only then approaches Aubree and passes it to her, with the obvious intent for it to be passed around as he goes ahead and sparks another for him.

Aubree Morningstar was a celebrated birth, because her mother showed signed in early pregnancy that Aubree would be special. The pregnancy had been blessed by Gaia, and the child given special, and nearly lost gifts. The power of sight, and the ability to see short distances into the future within her dreams.
Aubree, though acceptant of these gifts, did not use them as she was meant too. As a child, she was happy to explore and play, dancing and singing, rather than train, and fight. She loved her pack, her parents and especially her Afi Rezso, the Alpha of one of the nearby packs who had been in her life since the day she was born. She had so many memories, from birthdays, holidays, running with each other’s packs. Aubree had even spent nights with his pack by herself while she grew up.
On these nights, her Afi would teach her the wilder side of the life, the naughtier side of life. He taught her about alcohol and weed, and although he never intended it to take hold, it did for Aubree. Once Aubree got a true taste of freedom, it was all she wanted. She didn’t want to be a Warrior of a God, she hadn’t asked to be. It was true if she tapped into the vision, she could see the wrought upon the earth, even the earth around them, although it was much cleaner here. She also had the ability to speak with the forest Guardian, but he too, was refused by Aubree.
This led to massive fights with her parents, and to her parents reaching out to her Afi for help. Aubree, only a few short months away from her first full change, after another blow out fight, stormed off and joined her friends in a fire and party far out in a the woods away from their parents. Some of the older ones had their first changes, so they howled and growled in their drunken states. When Rezso approached, Aubree did tense at first. She should’ve known her parents would’ve called him, but she also knew the party wasn’t what she was in trouble for. Her blue eyes looked up into those golden ones as he approached, and at first, she had the typical teenager pose. Arms crossed, hip cocked, head tilted, and way drunker than a 17-year-old should be. Her eyes showed her love for her Afi, but she was still clearly very angry. “I’m not apologizing.” She told him as she took the joint from him and puffed lightly on it.

Rezso never had the typical teenage experience and even then it was so far gone he could hardly remember what it was like during those first years before his change. He did understand the drive the pull to yourself, to be your own wolf. Rezso could have joined countless packs over the years, and in some way, he had even if not officially. He preferred to be on his own, with his wolves living as a wolf, it was simple, and he could see why Aubree would crave that with all that her parents had placed on her shoulders.
He hadn't blamed them either, but they forgot that she was a free spirit, it was her nature, and he knew Gaia would call to her when the time was right. She had a place destined place in this world and despite what her parents desired they could not force it upon her till she was ready to accept this.
So Rezso had been the voice of reason and the mediator, that always seemed to take Aubree's side. Much to Landon's annoyance, as her parents tried to provide a unified front, while Afi would come in and just crash through walls. Never afraid to give his opinion or say what he thought was right and wrong, and this too didn't stop when it came to Aubree either. Which only irritated her parents more when she would listen to Rezso say the same thing they did, in his way, and get her to agree, or relent.
So Rezso was not at all surprised by her reaction so he let out a soft yip of laughter that despite his current human form came out very wolflike. "I hadn't known I asked ya too." He says with an amused smirk on his lips eyeing the joint expectantly and smiling as she took a few puffs. "So what did they do this time?" He asks with no accusation in his voice but in a question of someone who was ready and willing to listen.

Aubree knew he was only here on her parents request, but that he would not act like it. He had this charm that pretended otherwise, and it worked every single time. Her Afi softened her to the point she might consider listening, but right now, she was still furious.
She puffed on the joint, refusing to give it back. He’d known she wouldn’t give it back, but she also saw in his eyes that he was not about to give up. She blew out the smoke, and picked up the drink she had going while she nodded her head to the side in an indication for him to follow. She led him out of the main party grounds, where the music and laughter wasn’t so loud, and they could actually have a conversation.
“They’re so pushy, Afi. It’s not like I don’t know I don’t have these talents, but why do I have to sacrifice everything in my life for it? For them? Can’t I just be allowed to develop and use them? If Gaia wants me in the battle, I’m pretty sure Gaia would tell me. It hadn’t, so I don’t see why I need to be pushed into it.” She grumbled to him before taking the drink. “I don’t see the point of forcing me to use the vision if I don’t want to use it.”

Rezso would smirk with a roll of those golden eyes, so much more prominent in the moon and firelight. He was content to light another joint over the fire before the stepped farther away. He wore that usual smirking smile on his lips amused by that rebellious streak in her, it was hard for him too to remember how old she was. He still saw the same little girl Landon did, but she wasn't and he knew it, and it was obvious by the males looked at her as she left.
The first words out of her mouth have him softly chuckling with a shake of his head. Pushy would be an understatement but Rezso was on the outside and could see both perspectives. He knew why her parents hounded her the way they did, they weren't wrong and it wasn't all for them. They wanted what they thought was best for her, but Aubree... Well, much to her parent's dismay may have taken too much after her Afi, and had become quite the lone wolf herself it seemed.
It was hard for Rezso to speak on Gaia, she was everywhere and all things, though connected to her as all their kind was, he had never spoken with her. It wasn't a common therian trait, and only their shamans had in ancient times, though he felt her, he didn't have the same connection that Aubree had.
"It's a gift, and you are their daughter. They see a future for you, and the pack. Don't hate them for wanting what is best for you." He says bringing the joint back to his lips, rolled in a tobacco leaf. He takes a long drag shifting his head to blow the smoke towards the moonlight so they could watch the rolling smoke dancing in it.
"They weren't too happy with me either." He says with that usual wink of his and a wolfish grin, "I think your mother thinks I am a bad influence on you." He says with a small snicker eying the joint but just takes another hit.

“I don’t hate them. I understand why they want me to use it, and also, they act as if I don’t, which pisses me off all it’s own.” She took a stubborn sip of her drink, her body giving a small shudder as the alcohol in it moved. It was always an interesting effect on her powers, but she would deal with that in a few hours when she was much drunker. “But they act as if I don’t listen to their teachings, which isn’t true.”
Aubree looked at him while he spoke, and a soft smile moved across her pretty face. “My mom’s probably right. But I love you anyways.” She sighed deeply, and leaned against the tree she was near. “These powers, Afi. They’re....incredible, and I know how special they are. I can see things no other wolf can.” Even as she spoke, her blue eyes shifted in their color to an almost bright purple. The Penumbra Vision. In it, she could see everything. Lifelines, spirits, the very essence of their life. And in the nearby clearing, the gigantic guardian. She looked at him, and he looked at her, her head bowing towards him. He took the shape of a wolf here, and bowed his giant head back to his warrior.
“I respect what I see. But I also don’t feel it’s right to have to give up everything I am, all my free time and freedoms when I don’t have too yet. I just want to live and explore for a little bit. What is so wrong with that?” Her eyes darkened back to their normal blue, and she looked back at Rezso. “Gaia has not called me into battle. When she does, I will respond. But I shouldn’t have to live my life waiting for that moment to come, and that’s what we keep fighting about. It’s on-switch all the time with them. I swear, they couldn’t relax if the activity jumped up and bit them in their very stubborn flanks.”

As Aubree spoke of her powers, what she could see, and her connection with Gaia she would see a natural interest in Rezso. This was not new and a connection he was never granted and very very few ever were. So he did understand her parent's desire to see her make something more of herself. He too could see where they were driving their daughter towards, but despite his warning that she needed to find her own way, they were persistent, and his love for Landon and the precious Aubree, he always came when called, and so he came. Though her parents hoped to talk some sense into their daughter, Rezso was as independent and defiant as their own daughter so far too often fueled that rebellious nature of hers, a lone wolf himself after all.
When her gaze and eyes shifted his golden eyes moved with hers as his head bowed in a nod in the direction of where she looked making an assumption of guardian was where she had bowed too. When her attention returned to him he offered another nod of his head no less respectful towards Aubree with those golden eyes set on her in that soft kindly way of his that betrayed those countless years of his.
"Ya know I think they sent the wrong wolf on this mission, I can't find a coherent argument to disagree with ya." His lips turn upwards in that far too usual smirk of his that held that hint of mischievousness in it. "They are stubborn as the daughter they created, do not forget." He says with a wide wolfish grin on his lips and a twinkle of fondness in his golden eyes.
"None of us resist the pull of tides, and you are freeing yourself from your parents and joining Gaia. It scares them as it does all parents, do not blame them for clinging to what was once. They forget you are a pup no more and will make your own paths." He offers a small shrug as he steps in closer his arm wrapped around her shoulder and snatching the joint from her lips before she could kill it all herself. Bringing it to his lips to take a long his before placing it back in hers though what was left would soon burn her lips if she didn't grab it herself.
