    Kingdom of Orem

“The pearl of the world,” is a shining beacon of prosperity in a realm of deeply rooted conflict. This well earned era of peace has ushered in the revolutionary movement of dwarven mechanica, catapulting the kingdom’s infrastructure unlike any before it. The same technology used to fuel the airship battles during The Venastia War now churns the land with bustling promise. Rail lines have transformed trade and commerce throughout the kingdom at unprecedented speeds. Runic generators power major cities with steam propulsion.

Orem is the largest continent in the realm. It has a wide variety of terrain, a vast majority of it cloistered with mountain ranges along its north and southwestern hemispheres. The Kingdom’s Capital, Pearfell, is carved out of the southern mountains of Whiteridge. All rail lines converge to this central point, which is a vast transportation network that branches out to the other two major cities: Ironcrest of the northwest, and Glimmervale of the east.

Glimmervale is surrounded by a grand forest, populated by the largest elven community in the land. This territory is known for their magic academia, arts, and music. There almost always seems to be a festival going on in these parts, even during the shoddiest of seasons. The Arcana Institute is a large university that crests the outer rim of Glimmervale. Further east, out into the forest is where the Elvish Covens have thrived for many ages.

Ironcrest is a gatekeeper city that provides direct transportation into Veg Malduhr, the dwarven citadel of Dragonpoint Mountain. Some will say that this industrial fortress is the true heart of Orem, as they are tasked with the distribution of steel that is mined from the great Citadel. While the major dwarven clans are rooted in Veg Malduhr, the rest have congregated to Ironcrest. The Academy of Cognitive Machinery is located in the heart of Ironcrest.

Orem’s entire western coastline is called the Cloudcoast. Its northern regions have the densest fog and muggiest storm systems, while the south is more tropical and humid. The port cities along this ridge are the only public access points to the outside realm.
