Oh awesome! Great yeah I’ll play around with it. Thanks so much for setting it up Silent!!
np I can play around with the scheme more for aesthetics when I'm done work
So right now - group is visible to public, but IC forum threads are members only
I can also hide OOC forum threads to members only, if you want
Or I can make the whole group disappear, and it only exists for us - but all this time building a world, if anyone wanted to show others the world setting and details in the first few pages in the group, it's available - even just to for Nate to show off this world he's built, etc.
Maybe we open the world for other RPs later, new characters, etc. etc. etccc
Point is - RP forum is closed to public, so go off on IC bullshit.
Membership is 21+ and invitation only.

I’m so happy there’s a reply button haha. Yes, I think the way that it’s set up is ideal and I appreciate the option to have the lore public should we feel the need to invite more people.
I’ll sink my teeth into all this more thoroughly after I get off work too lol. It’s been a busy day but it’s thankfully my Friday 🎉
whoooa look at this place!
Question about paladin magics - like divine magic - does it work here? was reading those rune information and not sure if it aligns
I can just.. not include it. When I write Irikah, I usually just keep it limited to basic healing and compel hostility type spells

Haha I was going back and forth changing colors. Sorry if there were notifications triggered because it.
As for the divine magic like holy and whatnot, that can fall under the Angel rune so most definitely! We’ll need all the divine magic we can get! And as for the hostility spells, that would fall under the Mind Rune.

Question, does Jhanandra's blade cause issues by how it functions?
I think it functions completely fine within the context of the lore. Though since she isn’t magic trained, the rune effects on the sword might not always work against more seasoned mages and/or could get nullified/broken by enemies that have anti magic equipment.
Luckily, you’ve got a rune repairman/buffer in the squad, so as long as you protect zetram, you should be fine

Orem, Kingdom of Zaddys.
So vain they imprison the graveborne/keep them out of sight 😂

Irikah's like 'sorry bro, I'd like to stay and help you rebuild after the war, but our friends over there are all HOT trauma, you know? Can't stay, byeeee'
Hah I usually do not overthink these things, but work has fried my braaaain, so I'm daydreaming about my character in this new world.
Don't mind me rambling I'm excited to get this started!
Going to finesse her faith a bit to match what you have set up.
So Vectis - being such a widespread faith, I see like, different schools of thought to achieve the same overarching goal. Like some Vectis institutions focus on the mind, act as libraries and schools; others are more spiritual focused, temples and places of meditation; others more physical focused, training the body as an act of worship and discipline, etcc.
So I think, Irikah didn't become a paladin (the class, like she doesn't know she's a Paladin(TM), she's just championing the faith) until AFTER the war. She was just a damn good soldier, but the war had exposed a lot of glaring weaknesses, so she's like.. well I gotta reconcile those. So she leaves, and for a while, ended up staying in a Vectis monastery with a focus on the 'self-perfection' aspect of the faith. So her code ends up reflecting that.
Also, she's half-elf, so she can also be like...loll culturally Yaldirm. Maybe gets her weird looks from the Vectis monks she was staying with.
Anyway, I think she trains for a decade, learn that she's sick, and decided she needed to...go.. and not die in a hospital. Tygran's like "Oh yeah, you helped us in the war, come chill. Wanna be a knight?" And Irikah's like, "No thanks, but I need a mission that can take me out"
Then Zetram shows up, "I got just the thing", and Irikah, "Bet."
(I write more eloquently than this, I think, generally.. lol I swear, Irikah's a serious character)
Oh and her magic can actually be separated from her faith
She's not from Orem - and Shokuro is probably too desperate and pragmatic to care so much about graveborne - so instead of going through an arcana institute - I suspect she just demonstrated some affinity with magic IN BATTLE, and someone tosses her a (angel) rune to better control it and she just...learned on the job. So it's super limited, and she doesn't actually know all that much about it, but it works well enough for her purposes.
(which COULD set up a potential arc of her realizing maybe she could use magic to stave off her illness longer, if she doubled down on it, but also - is it worth it to LOSE HER SOUL.. etc etc. maybe.. not sure.. we'll see where the story goes.)

Hahah I love it! (Not your brain getting fried, but the rambling is more than welcomed here!)
For somebody whose brain was fried, you’re doing me a great favor expanding on the lore here. I love the idea of different Vectis institutions that have been halved to mind/library & spirit/temple & body/SIGMAGYMBROMINDSET. I’d call this the Holy Trinity, but it might be a little on the nose lol Maybe The Vectis Trigon?
Anyway, it’s a very welcoming religion and more likely to take a foreigner in, not to mention it’s the faith of choice from the monarchy, so they’d extra welcome Irikia for all her efforts from the war. Also, love the idea of Zetram finding out about her terminal illness and mission to go out on her shield, and basically use that to his advantage for the objective.
You bring up a great point with her faith and magic since she’s a paladin ‘type’ given she’s from Shokuro. Hmmm… what if by learning to perfect her magic, her terminal illness is not only getting treated, but potentially cured, only by a grand twist of fate for it to be replaced by graveborne? That’s thinking WAY down the line. Either way, Allaiyn (our designated sorcerer) can help teach you to hone your skills as we go through this adventure!
And Happy Friday Everyone!
I just added some info about Queen Lilia. She played a big part of helping liberate Shokuro from Deign with a bunch of Airships.
You mentioned someone giving her an angel rune. Maybe to further keep her invested with that type of magic, it was the Queen herself that gave it to you? Unless you had someone else in mind, then completely disregard!

sigma gym bro is ACCURATE. With Irori, I always played it like...younger people always default to the physical, because it's less abstract, and progress is easier to recognize. So you train up your discipline by training your body, then you use that discipline to train your mind and spirit as you mature. And a lot of people plateau in their faith because they can't get past the physical practice, and learn to find the balance.
Was also playing with the idea that Irikah does still follow her own god (Irori) from Shokuro, but because Orem doesn't acknowledge it, and she's a practical sort, she just shrugs, like - same god, different name - because clearly, the principles are the same. Then sometimes in prayer or combat, she lets slip that she's drawing strength from Irori, and everyone's like ::eyes:: who??? And Irikah's like, "I mean Vectis, I mean.. that's what I said, just different language - don't worry about it"

Oh, interesting - what's Zetram like? he a manipulative kind? or is he genuine like, 'lets give this woman what she wants'? Two birds, one zombie mission, etc.

Oh I wasn't thinking of anyone in particular. I half imagined magic and runes in Shokuro are not seen as any more special than a blade and a shield. Like "Here's your sword, a shield, your rations, and oh you can magic? here's a rune - try not to set anything on fire."
Sounds like the runes have been around since the dwarven age, so I doubt they need an Orem alliance to get their hands on the ruins - it might just be a very different approach to the use of it?
