Inventory
  • Dagger - a charming little sidearm, kept in a leather sheathe at her waist. It has an intricately carved bone handle made to resemble a bird- if anyone asks, she tells them it's meant to be a crow. There's a green gem embedded in the handle to represent the animal's eye.
  • (12\12) Healing potions - an Adeptus family recipe, these potions are administered topically or orally and seem to magically accelerate the body's natural healing process- closing wounds before one's very eyes. They do not cure ailments and can't close a mortal wound on their own. Additionally, it may sap a patients energy depending on the severity of the wound to which it's been applied. Not recommended for use on malnourished or actively dying patients.
  • (1/1) Potion ingredients - Enough dry ingredients to make one extra batch of healing potions (6 1floz vials) should the need and/opportunity arise. Lisa requires a short rest, access to a cooking pan, pot, or cauldron, a source of water, and a source of heat in order to make use of this item.
  • (6/6) Antitoxins - Small vials of translucent liquid she claims can alleviate the symptoms of most common toxins. Just in case.
  • (3/3) Roll of bandages - a thick roll of gauze to stem bleeding, help apply antibiotics and prevent the further contamination of an injury. She's brought enough for an emergency, which she fully expects now that her solo trip's become a party.
  • (5/5) Ointments - small vial of a herbal remedy that, when applied topically, helps deter infection and relieve pain. Does not completely resolve the injury in the same manner as the healing potions.
  • (12/12) Trail snacks - dried meats, crackers, and crumbly cheeses wrapped in cloth. To help sustain/recoup adventuring energy and to boost party morale.

  • An important letter - a letter tucked between the pages of Lisa's diary.

    Letter Contents

    Lisa,

I’m sorry I haven’t written to you in so long, and that I write to you now only to ask a favor.

His condition has gotten worse, we’re afraid it’s just a matter of time. Fortunately, this old codger has finally given me permission to read his notes. Of what’s legible, the tomb of Acererak looks like the most accessible option we have for now, maybe there’s something in there that’ll buy us a decade or two.

Directions to the location should have come with this letter- I took it out of his own journal, it will not lead you astray. From what I know, the tomb is a literal death maze, armed to the teeth with tricks that’d make the bookworm sick with envy. Should you go, prepare carefully.

I would not be asking you if I knew of another choice, and I understand if you decline. I’ll keep him stable as long as I can either way.

    I love you,

    Mom

  • A diary - a well-loved, leather-bound diary in which Lisa catalogues her thoughts, feelings, revelations, etc. Listed below are some of the things she's written since entering the tomb.

She intends to invite the party to read both Entry 1 and the letter if she dies. You guys- the players/DM -can read these entries in advance if you want. They're collapsed in case you'd rather wait until the appropriate IC conditions are met.
    • Entry .5: The Riddle

Lisa has written a copy of the hidden riddle as well as she can recall. The margins of this page fills with notes over time.

    • Entry 1: Last Request

Thank you for reading this. I'm going to keep it brief.

I challenged the tomb because a family friend is dying. Or more like, undergoing a deadly metamorphosis. Tragic, sure, but more importantly the end result might be apocalypticdangerous to a lot of people I know -so we've been doing everything we can to help slow the progression.

We know that something vital to our cause is likely in here. We don't know exactly what. I'm hoping for some scroll, artifact, or recipe. Something recognizable and portable.

My final request to you: keep an eye out. Grab everything that isn't bolted down, get out alive and go the library. My mom will be there. Tell her what happened, and that I love her too.

      Please.

Following this is a hastily drawn map, with written directions and a warning: "Be cautious. The library entrance is trapped, but it's child play compared to the tomb."
