Welcome to Sanctuary's
Celebration of Celebrations!
Every year Sanctuary celebrates the unique diversity of its residents by encouraging them to set up celebratory holiday booths personal to them or their worlds! They line the streets outside of houses, dot the markets, and spill out into the city square, and it's a time of joyous festivity and cheerful curiosity that tends to only grow as the celebration goes on and newcomers become less shy, setting up their own booths or more boldly attending other's.
If you would like to have your character set up a booth here, feel free to contact Jabber with whatever you'd like to include! Your character does not have to be present the entire time for the festival, but it's a good idea to include some NPCs in the description if their booth is something that needs a bit of babysitting or active interaction.
Any of these booths may be used in personal threads or discord roleplays whether the owner of the booth is there or not, but please avoid using characters that belong to other people if they aren't marked with an [NPC] indicator here in their booth's descriptions!
Keep checking back here for new booths to check out up until midnight on January 4th!
American Christmas on Earth
(World #0931R) It was a modest stall, comprising of one table decorated in a dark green cloth. A tight, twine cord was strapped around the front and sides with candy canes hanging by their hooks, serving as decorations. It complemented the small, magicked evergreen tree on the right side of the stall, adorned in small glass bobbles and tiny yellow glowstones to light it up. There were tiny boxes in paper wrapping under the tree, topped off with ribbon bows. Next to it stood a wooden doll about as tall as the miniature tree. It donned a painted-on red soldier’s suit and a matching hat with a golden crown at the base, all while holding a polearm the same color as the crown. To the left of the stall, where were rows of cookies in cellophane wrapping, the sheets a commodity the stall owner, Roy, likely got from his housemate. Inside were five gingerbread men cookies each, presented for sale for one copper per package. To complete the stall, there was a sign in the middle of the front of the stall that read, ‘American Christmas on Earth (World #0931R)’ A specific time period wasn’t given, but Roy didn’t feel the need for one. Christmas was timeless in and of itself to him, and he felt the fun part was explaining the tidbits he knew about whenever and wherever it was. |
Hot Chocolate in the TARDIS
A big blue box sits next to one of the booths. Anyone who knows it will recognize it as a police box, with perhaps a few more scuffs and scratches than it normally has. The outside looks normal enough. There's a little handmade wooden sign outside of it, with, 'Free Hot Chocolate' written on it and a doodle of a steaming mug with marshmallows on top. Inside though, is unexpected. It's far bigger on the inside than the outside, and glittering blue and silver tinsel has been strung up absolutely everywhere. There's a smattering of chairs and well loved couches that have been set up around the center console of what seems to be some sort of strange ship. The seating absolutely looks like it's been dragged out of miscellaneous places within said ship for the purpose of the event, but it's very cozy. And there is, indeed, a hot chocolate stand. The device pumping out the sweet brown drink is fairly alien looking, but the hot chocolate is delicious, and there's plenty of springy marshmallows and fluffy whipped cream to be had, as well as a smattering of cinnamon to sprinkle on top. Those visiting the booth tend to opt to relax in the TARDIS for a bit as a respite from the cold before ambling on, with The Doctor keeping a close eye on the festivities. It wouldn't do to have someone wander off and get into trouble, after all...! Every so often a radio play or festive holiday music rings out from the big, wooden console radio set up in the corner. If you're lucky, you may catch something! |
