Human (Homo sapiens) - Mid-twenties - he/him - 5'4" - 135 lbs. - Agent of the Multiverse (Field Journalist) - Sanctuary World #0931R - Shanghai, China (Earth) Originally a bartender for a nightclub in Shanghai, Yanfeng is the unfortunate combination of hot-headed and well-meaning. He cares about people as equally as he does monsters, although he's aware of the fact they can't always coexist. That led him to be selected by the Celestials of the Exorcists' Guild, not only as a surviving member originally placed in the Mars Squadron, but as the new Heritor of the Moon. He was assigned to a squadron specialized in the extermination of monsters, but that starts with an understanding of one's enemies. To Yanfeng, monsters always lash out with reasons that are more complex than they are on the surface. Everything has a reason it exists in the first place. His brown eyes are upturned at the outer corners and winged by longer lashes, giving the appearance of what are known in Chinese literature as 'phoenix eyes,' befitting his name. Yanfeng oftentimes dresses very casually when outside of his black-and-purple Exorcist's attire. He can also be spotted donning equestrian gear sometimes, as he is known to take Little Lady, his nightmare steed, around the Stables for a ride. For battle, he dresses her in Ming-dynasty-style war barding. Gear & Extras  Main Arm: Phobos’ Albedo (Range: Melee) (Roll Damage: 2d6)A guandao with a wide, sturdy blade. A less common arm for the Mars Squadron, but when it is used, it’s preferred by the mounted units.

Abilities & Weaknesses ⋗ Lunar Limbs The Moon Celestial watches over him. . . if it still had its own willpower. Evidently it still remains, judging from his ability to summon its large limbs to attack and protect. ⋗ The Dark Arts The power to manipulate and harden shadow is his, largely wielding it as an extension to manipulate physical objects. He may also sink through shadow as a form of travel. ⋗ The Wind Arts Yanfeng's secondary knowledge of Art Pieces. His talents here are dominated by the nature of fire, to heat and burn and set alight. ⋗ Polearm Proficiency He is an expert in mounted combat, utilizing a guandao for his weapon of choice. He is also knowledgeable in spears. ⋖Temperamental He is easily annoyed and quick to fly into anger. He judges the actions of others harshly. ⋖ Unarmed Combat His polearm and mount are to keep enemies in a designated space. It's a lot of gear to compensate for a position that he knows he can do better in, especially if he can't use the Arts. Almost all modern day kung fu is virtually useless in combat, so his hobby of changquan would do no good for him. ⋖ Water-Based Magic Controlling it or fighting against it, water and fire do not mix. History The dimensions of World #0931R have been split in two. The Dream Realm was a exposed to humanity after the construction of the supercomputer HECATE on the moon orbiting Earth. However, not even it could save either dimension after the Corruption came. It enveloped the world within mere weeks, living only The Line Between free. If any stragglers from human countries, the Lunar Empire, the Three Great Guilds, or the Dreamer kingdoms exist, they are unheard of. Yanfeng was one of the survivors to come through on [April 2024]. Rescued alongside some other remaining Exorcists, he was taken under the tutelage of Krepta Eve Walker as an agent. However, he still remains as a housemate to fellow Exorcist Roy in Sanctuary. Medical History Family members are wary of Yanfeng and his sister's cardiac health due to his father having hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM), causing an abnormal heart rhythm from thickened heart walls. His sister has mild symptoms and his father requires a pacemaker. Yanfeng is screened regularly and so far hasn't developed symptoms. Yanfeng is also lactose intolerant.
