1. Character Rules
Canon Characters Only: This RP is focused on canon characters from the books series. Players may choose any character that reasonably fits within the game’s timeline and events.
Character Knowledge: Remember that your character only knows what they would logically know. Avoid using out-of-character (OOC) knowledge to influence in-character (IC) actions.
Character Deaths: Characters can only be killed under specific circumstances:
Player Agreement: Both players must agree to a death if their characters are involved.
Staff Approval: Major character deaths affecting RP continuity or key plots require staff approval.
Logical Consequences: Reckless or foolish actions might logically lead to a character’s demise, even without approval, if justified by the situation and agreed upon by moderators.
Roleplaying Limits: Avoid overpowered characters and excessive abilities outside the character's known skills. A character's abilities should align with canon depictions and reasonable interpretations within the setting.
2. Roleplaying Etiquette
Respectful Writing: Be respectful of others’ time and efforts. Use proper grammar, avoid overly short or long posts, and give space for other characters to react.
Power-Playing & Metagaming Prohibited: Power-playing (controlling other players’ characters) and metagaming (using OOC information IC) are prohibited. Focus on creating a fair experience for everyone.
Post Consistency: Follow the established posting order in group scenes, unless agreed otherwise. Avoid excessive delays, and let moderators know if you need a break to keep others informed.
IC vs. OOC: Keep IC actions and OOC emotions separate. If a conflict arises, resolve it OOC with maturity, or reach out to a moderator if needed.
3. Plot and Storyline Rules
Major Plot Changes: If you want to make a major change to the world, such as shifting political alliances, attacking a major House, or seizing power, submit a plot proposal for moderator approval.
Minor Plotlines Encouraged: Players are encouraged to create personal storylines that enhance character depth and interaction, such as family dynamics, training, or small political maneuvers. If in doubt, check with a moderator.
Plot Progression & Participation: Stay active and respond to others, particularly if involved in a group storyline. Let the staff or players know if you’ll be absent to ensure stories continue smoothly.

4. Combat and Duels
Turn-Based Combat: Combat scenarios are turn-based to allow each player to describe actions and reactions. Rolls or staff-decided outcomes may apply in special cases.
Realism in Battles: Use reasonable tactics and limits in battle scenes. Avoid taking too much control over other characters' reactions, focusing instead on describing your own actions and intent.
Injuries and Consequences: Injuries can be decided collaboratively or with staff input if needed. Long-term consequences (like scars or disabilities) should align with the storyline and character development.
5. OOC Conduct and Moderation
Respectful Interaction: All players are expected to be respectful and supportive, both IC and OOC. Discrimination, harassment, and offensive language are strictly prohibited.
Moderator Role: Moderators are here to guide and assist. If you have any concerns or need help, reach out to them. They also enforce rules fairly and impartially to keep the RP enjoyable for everyone.
Warnings and Consequences: Rule violations may result in warnings, temporary bans, or removal from the RP, depending on severity. Repeated violations will be handled appropriately to protect the group dynamic.
6. Additional Guidelines
Time Management: Since the world of ASOIAF has many areas and characters, we’ll be using an approximate timeline to ensure the RP remains cohesive. Characters in different locations should be mindful of time passage in storylines and communicate if they wish to “time-jump” into future events.
Questions and Updates: Feel free to ask questions or suggest improvements. This RP evolves based on community input, so constructive feedback is always welcome.
