  • TIMELINE- W.I.P.

      Early 1800s: Rail & Mining companies begin appearing through what would later be parts of Laurel Hill Springs, WV.
    • -1830's Laurel Hill Springs: Established when ............**
    • -1886 Montgomery Vance moves to town with his wife Judith. Montgomery is a Coal baron and has made good money for his family, and has moved to the area upon word that the hills here had good mining potential.
    • -1889 Montgomery and Judith have their first and only son, Emerson.
    • -1910 Judith dies of pneumonia in the manor
    • -1919 Montgomery dies and Emerson inherits the house and the mining company
    • -1919 through 1925 - Rumors of debaucherous and depraved parties for the wealthy and high society, rumors of cannibalism, rumors of the manor becoming a brothel for the elite, rumors of murders, assaults, etc.
    • -1926 Emerson marries a woman from town named Alice
    • -1926 through 1930 - Emerson and Alice have 3 children: Charles Vance, Mary Vance and Joseph Vance
    • -1930 Alice Vance drowns in the pond on the estate and Emerson remarries to Elizabeth
    • -1930 through 1940 Emerson and Elizabeth have 7 children: Irene Vance, Edward Vance, Shirley Vance, Florence Vance, Lillian Vance, John Vance and Lee Vance
    • -1939, Yohanan and Batsheva brought their community into the area. Batsheva leaves for a time to hunt Nazis, returning in 1971.
    • -1940 Avery Marie Absher marries Harlan Green.
    • -1941 Caleb Absher Green is born
    • -1941 Joseph Vance dies from a fall in the manor
    • -1942 Sara Avery Green is born
    • -1943 Florence Vance and Lee Vance die of smallpox
    • -1943 Ellie Marie Green is born
    • -1944, Bette Vaugh Green is born
    • -1944, Caprice arrives and meets Avery and Harlan Green.
    • -1945 Edith Green is born
    • -1946 Mary Vance disappears, rumor is that she ran away from home
    • -1947 Irene Vance is arrested for attempted arson of the manor and is sent to a mad house.

      After an accident in the old mines, two men are put in a collision course to tragedy and more.

    • -1950 Edward is killed at the house in a murder-suicide by a scorned love

    • -1952
      Dead man smokin'.
      Armed with nothing but stories and a rifle, 11 year old Caleb ventures out hunting squirrels and makes 'friends' with a corpse.

    • -1955 Emerson dies in the mines
    • -1955 Elizabeth dies of a morphine overdose, thought to be suicide
    • -1955 Charles Vance inherits the house and the company
    • -1960 Charles marries Barbara
    • -1969 Charles and Barbara disappear. Their affairs had been left in order, down to a deed being prepared to transfer the manor to Lillian Vance like they were preparing for a move, but all of their belongings including their wallets and passports were left behind.
    • -1970 Lillian Vance moves back in
    • -1999 Lillian is murdered by Shirley Vance, who had harbored a grudge over not receiving the manor herself. Shirley is committed to prison.
    • -2000 John Vance is deeded the house from Lillian’s estate and moves back to town to sort affairs.
    • -2000, 8 year old Pearl arrives with family
    • -2002 John moves out of town and begins renting the manor to tenants.

      Dark and Stormy Night
      Some nights are nights where nothing good seems to happen. In the wrong place at the wrong time a man meets his end and his body is left to be dealt with by a nutty hillbilly and a man who really doesn’t like the cold.
