New to Virginia, DeSoto purchased a two-story Brownstone home in the downtown area of Laurel Hill Springs. Prior to her move, she'd hired a contractor to renovate the bottom level into a suitable space to feature an art studio and modest cafe aptly named "Soto's Sips and Studio." Here, DeSoto is intending on featuring her own works- a combination of dark surrealist imagery such as this and ethereal portraiture like this- for purchase and viewing. The studio will also be open to anyone looking to practice their own artistic skills during the day for a flat rate to use the studio's materials, as well as through regular lessons featuring painting demonstrations and figure drawing sessions. Every last Friday of the month, the studio features an evening of (responsible) wine drinking and painting referred to as "Just Fine Arts Friday."
