Draru'ai
the Floating Kingdom
RPR Is still being refined and a work in progress.
The Kingdom of Draru'ai was crafted from pristine white stone, their surfaces adorned with intricate carvings. The stone was said to have been undisturbed and part of the actual landforms, both landlocked and floating. That the first king's magic, King Rauri, was so great, he carved it out of the mountain that had stood there before.
He chose the area for it's strategical proximity advantage to go inland and routes to both river and ocean. The forests surrounding the kingdom are lush, with ancient oaks, and guarded secrets of ethereal creatures. The lands protected by sprites, dryads, unicorns, and even many other mysterious and unknown creatures.
Close by, within the cliffs, hidden from view are mystical caves. Some harbor glowing crystal formations—bioluminescent gems that light the darkness. The caverns, the aglow with soft blues, purples, and greens. Stalactites and stalagmites create natural sculptures, and the air hums with ancient magic.
High within the floating cities are the elite class, those with wings or the ability of flight often live within the floating cities. It is a frequent occurrence to see flying ships and dragons coming to and fro with their riders, or angelic type beings congregating within these parts.
Along the shoreline, trade is often happening between the seafolk and treasure hunters who comb the beach, coast, and depths for oceanic gems and crystals. Pearls, quartz, and ocean jasper emerge from the sand, each holding a story. Perhaps the kingdom's prosperity relies on these precious finds, traded with distant lands or used to enhance magical artifacts.
On the outskirts of the main city, are homes built in trees, under the ground, and little small subsets of communities. No one is run off or is told they don't belong, but there is a sense of who is garnered more favor often times.
It is also said that on moonlit nights, the kingdom gathers in the central courtyard for festivities. During these events, even Royalty is treated the same as the homeless. This is a time to enjoy oneself, branch out into new sectors, and meet new peoples. A tradition passed down by King Rauri, so as to never forget that all should be seen as worth equal in value and standing.
