The Kingdom of Euluma is a breathtaking nation hidden beneath the floating city of Draru’ai, lying deep beneath the sapphire expanse of the Ak’lei Ocean. For centuries, tales of Euluma’s origins have passed from generation to generation, shrouded in myth and mystery.
It is said that Euluma was once an island, cursed to the ocean floor by an enraged god. At its heart lies an underwater volcano—silent, yet ominous. Warnings persist: those who stray too far into its depths return changed... if they return at all. Was the curse still active? Did the vengeful god still lurk, waiting for the descendants of those who had wronged him? To claim their souls as retribution for the life they had taken from him?
But did the people of the island perish when their home was dragged beneath the waves? Or did fate spare them from annihilation?
Whether by luck or divine intervention, they survived. The Sea God, moved by pity, opposed the Volcano God’s wrath, believing that ignorance did not absolve them of blame—but neither did it justify their complete destruction. Instead, the Sea God offered both mercy and punishment: the islanders would live, but they would never walk on land again. Instead, they were gifted the ability to breathe beneath the waves, becoming the first merfolk.
Few outsiders have laid eyes on Euluma’s wonders. Towering, coral-encrusted spires shimmer with an ethereal glow, bathed in the soft luminescence of bioluminescent architecture. Ancient ruins rest in the ocean’s embrace, cradling treasures and precious stones untouched by time. The kingdom teems with aquatic life, its beauty rivaling the heavens above.
Yet, Euluma does not stand alone. Legends speak of an ancient pact—one that binds the merfolk to the skyborne people of Draru’ai. Their fates are entwined, their prosperity secured so long as neither betrays the other. But should the alliance break, the ocean itself would rise in fury, swallowing Draru’ai whole or dragging Euluma into the abyss, never to be seen again.
And so, the merfolk and the skyborne tread carefully, bound by a fragile balance—watching, waiting, as the sea and sky remain forever intertwined.
