  • Castle

Bastion de Perrigwyn is a fortified castle perched in the middle of Staedbergh, known for its imposing stone walls and elegant halls. It serves as both a seat of power and a symbol of protection for the realm, blending centuries of history with the daily life of its inhabitants.

    Entry Hall & Throne Room
    *throneroom

The hall serves as the entryway into the castle, welcoming visitors and directing them to the throne room. The throne room, where royalty holds court, is a space where subjects can gather to seek counsel, present petitions, or simply mingle with their rulers.

    Great Hall
    *greathall

The castle’s central gathering place for feasts and special events. Large enough to host anything from extravagant dinners to balls and it even comes with its own performance corner for bards willing to play before crowds.

    Garden
    *garden

Fountains and statues can be found right across from vibrant flowerbeds, offering a peaceful retreat for anyone who ventures outdoors. It’s a space for quiet reflection, leisurely strolls, and the occasional private gathering.

    Chapel
    *chapel

A sanctuary from the bustle of the castle, it is a quiet place, lined with simple wooden pews. On the surface, it appears much as any chapel would, a place of worship but there is something slightly unsettling about the building.

    The Dungeon
    *punishment

A place where prisoners are interrogated, servants have their behaviors corrected, and those who seek pain can find a variety of ways to cause it. Despite the best cleaning efforts of the bastion's servants, there is always a faint scent of blood here.

    Infirmary
    *infirmary

Quiet space where the sick and injured are cared for, with rows of simple beds and shelves lined with herbs and remedies. It is open to anyone injured in the castle, not just the nobles.

    Library
    *library

A vast room lined with towering shelves filled with tomes and scrolls that range heavily in topics. Rest by the shelves or move into the nearby reading nook for the most relaxing experience.

    Spa
    *spa

Massive hub of relaxation tucked into an intimate corner of the castle for the enjoyment of any who stumble upon it. There are four large baths and an adjacent room that contains massage beds and hookahs to further elevate one's experience here.

    Jail
    *jail

Where those who have broken the laws are placed. Anyone is free to visit but it is advised you don't linger too long. Failure to behave oneself in jail may cause an individual to be moved to the dungeon for reconditioning.

    Arena
    *arena

A pit located on the lower floors of the castle, where one can test their mettle against their fellow man or one of the many beasts that invade the lands from the nearby forest.
  • Realm

Beyond the Bastion's walls lies Staedbergh, a nation of moderate size nestled in European lands. It boasts a temperate climate and a vast population though notably most of the heavier settled towns lay near the Bastion de Perrigwyn itself. Its history can be found here.

    Outer Wall & Farm
    *wall

The outer wall is a towering stone barrier that encircles the castle, serving as the first line of defense against the outside world. It's reinforced with battlements, and entry into the castle can be made through various checkpoints located along the wall. Nearby, the farm provides the castle with fresh produce, with fields of crops and vegetable gardens maintained by dedicated workers.

    Stables
    *stables

The stables, located just within the outer wall, house the castle’s horses and are a hub of activity with stablehands tending to the animals. As most royalty houses their personal horses here, it is quite common to see them coming and going. This is also a very common starting position for newer servants of the castle to be placed.

    Graveyard
    *graveyard

The graveyard lies eerily close to the strange forest that seems to creep ever closer to the walls of Bastion de Perrigwyn. Though the graveyard itself is well-lit and can usually be described as a peaceful place to remember those who have been lost, the fog rolling out from the nearby forest can often lend to a heavy sense of unease - especially at night.

    The Odd Branch
    *tavern

A lively tavern nestled near the castle grounds, it is known as being the centralized hub of activity, well-decorated and certainly well-stocked. Frequented by travelers, guards, and castle staff alike, it’s a place where you can unwind and mingle, no matter your station in life. Despite its friendly atmosphere, the tavern has a reputation for attracting more than a few mysterious characters, perhaps you'll find your next quest here.
There are several towns of note in Staedbergh, varying in sizes and scattered throughout the lands. The biggest, and closest to the castle itself, is known as Montrevin. It is on the edge of this town that you can find The Odd Branch and often if one is not staying within the Bastion when visiting, they are holed up in one of the many inns here.
  • Feywild

    Fae Forest
    *forest

A mysterious, enchanted woodland near the castle, where the trees seem to whisper and the air is thick with magic. Known for its ever-changing paths and hidden glades, it’s a place both alluring and dangerous, where few venture without caution. The locals speak of strange sightings and unexplained happenings deep within its shadows. Nestled deep within, right at the center, is ---, a large tree that emanates a quiet, unsettling energy, drawing those who wander near into its presence. Not much is known about it.. not unless you ask the right people.
