Rise of a Nation

- Originally a collection of Celtic Tribes, conquered by Rome.
- Abandoned to the Germanic Franks, turned into their kingdom until the 700's. Their language, Old German, Frankish, is still spoken by a rare few today, and is seen as a language only nobility should and would be allowed to use.
- Split territories between kingdoms and boundaries and treaties are signed, passed between French, German, and Roman Empires.

Bastion de Perrigwyn is built late 900's, no exact date on record, and a town grows around it, allowing a court to form and eventually, the first Count Perrigwyn takes his claim.
They are able to grow with vassal states, other nobles willing to fund to have a country with independence under the Count's rule.

By the 1300's, they have grown a Duchy, yet fall into possession of varied countries rule with lack of a male heir to take on the throne, succession halted for now. This passing between countries only allowed the castle to strengthen and expand, and the disputes between these powers only fueled the citizens to independence and in 1605, they are able to reclaim themselves as a nation, a Grand-Duchy taking on the throne.

Now, in 1700's, there's rumors of another failed succession, as the last living heir has passed only a good six years ago, and any past possible distant relatives are impossible to contact or have no skill in ruling. A religious parliament of sorts has began to encroach the politics of Staedbergh, to the concern of it's citizens and the hand ringing of their noble allies, vassals who are unsure where to put their loyalties and funding.
