Welcome to Bridge Town: Winter Season! -
Setting
Located along the Ouroboros River, Bridge Town is the aptly named pitstop along The Great Plains Highway. The Bridge has become a regional landmark due to the ease of passage it creates between the Northern and Southern Plains, and the rest of the nation. Over the years, the town has grown into a trade capital, being so centralized in the region. No place is too far away from Bridge Town, which makes it the ideal place to stop when market and trade is your game! Or maybe you're one of the lucky folk who call this place home, and business is each and every person who passes through this densely populated flat!
(Keep an eye on our Map! It updates sometimes with ideas from our players, to fit the characters, and events and occurrences around Town!)

Welcome To Bridge Street!
Bridge Street
One couldn't ask for much a better place to have shop setup. The great plains highway stretched a length from north to south, but was once upon a time halted by the flowing currents of the Oroboros. A vast river which legend circled how once there was a mighty serpent who slithered through and left this river in its wake! Now a day just a tale, but one which was wrapped up in all sorts of culture in these parts.
The great plains Bridge was constructed with the settlement of the town, then expanded upon generation through generation. Now a beacon of trade where all routes come to merge here! In Bridge Town! So original... people back then didn't think much on it, but clearly had a vision. North and South of the Ouroboros, two bustling towns act like they rival one another, yet co exist in this melting pot of trade that comes their way!
Bridge Street was the place to be. North or south, if you were on that strip you were in the main line of action! Every wagon, every stall, every piece of good or merchandise came rolling up and down here at one point or another! Among the wood carvings of snakes, water, and mercantile imagery such as coins and trade ships. It was common practice to have some sort of snake embellished on your business here. Everyone part of the great serpent. -
Trouble Along the River!
While the Trade Life is booming, and Bridge Town remains the go to location for all regional market exchanges, that does not mean it is without its issues!!!
The North vs The South
Depending on what side of the river you're on, you'll start to catch a lot of noticeable vibes. These two sides dont get along much at all! Each side of the river has its own way of doing things, which tends to be vastly different than the other. In a free market for all those in town to trade and deal as they wish though, the governing forces of the town stay as neutral as possible
THE GREAT BRIDGE
Home to the Trade Guild Offices, located within The Archway. The Trade Guild Master oversees the town market standards on both sides of the river, but doesnt have too much say over what people actually do and what prices things land at while inside of town. Mainly their responsibilities are regarding import and export. Making sure incoming and outbound orders are on time and ready. Contracting Towns Folk to fill these bills are their main priority, looking out for the Town above all else, and not taking sides so long as Bridge Town prospers as a whole.
To help with this balance of peace, Two Respective Guilds have constructed their bases of operation on the Great Bridge. The Fighters and Mages Guilds remain in neutral territory, where it is respected that no matter what side of the River you are from or on business with, these are forever neutral grounds while upon the Bridge.
The Ways of the North
Northside, North Street, or The North. Common terms regarding to this side of town. The folk around here tend to be clean and proper. Happy and generous. Outgoing, and law abiding. There are rules around here to keep the peace at all times. Enforced by a regular patrol of Fighters Guild Guards, the streets here are safe and monitored during all hours of the day. Shop and lodge taxes in place fund the guards, and with them paid and on duty, they also see to the trade practices around these parts carried out as written.
There is to be no dealing in illegal products and contraband. Including Slave Trade, Drugs, Cursed Artifacts, Sex Traffic, Town Secrets, and any forms of Violent and or Dirty Deeds for sale.
Due to the steady flow of employment to the guards, the Fighters guild has a natural affinity towards aiding the North and its residents. Even when down South, Fighter Guild members are known to be quite protective of their North Side friends.
The Ways of the South
Southside, South Street, or the South. The common names used when referencing this side of the river! The folk around here are not the exact opposite as the North Street residents, but you see a lot of differences still. The place is still very clean as a whole, as the entire town is financially successful due to regional trade routes coming in from all across the land, here to Bridge Town. Without the enforcement of Common Practice like the North has via the Fighters Guild Guards, things down here are much more cut throat and of the types of people looking out for themselves in what ever way they see fit. As such, there is no restrictions on products found down here. Be it sex workers, mercenaries and assassins, drugs, cursed items, and more; South Side is where you go when you're looking for what the North doesnt tolerate.
There is a slum in these parts near the docks. Known as The Griftwood, it is a tent city of stragglers and strays, who have come together and setup what they could in the once open trade fields of the fish markets. Now overrun with dregs of society for the most part, it is considered to be a dangerous place of swindlers and possibly violent criminals. Most notably as well, the Griftwood actively blocks off access to the docks, where only a select few are permitted access. Particularly, on of Southsides big wigs; Valka Vex, who has set up shop in the old fishermans league building. Now a place of mysterious magics and energies, which most folk are far too scared to approach, so instead leave the Moth Woman to her business.
Much like the Fighters Guild relationship to the North Side, the Mages Guild have similar ties to The South. Due to the lack of regulation and restriction on products, that makes the Southside traders much more likely to come into the possession of old tomes, relics, magic items and more. Things which a mage society take great interest in! So while there are no actual payment plans in place, the Mage Guild knows who they can go to when looking for items of a more arcane nature.
One Town - Two Sides
Despite their differences, there are still times where folks come together. It is not illegal or forbidden to cross the river. Just ill advised depending on how much of 'Your Side' you are representing, or known for! Outsiders who dont take residence in Bridge Town are publicly accepted anywhere they go. Their money is good on both sides of the river, and encouraged even to explore and keep the town economy flowing. North and South both know and agree that the main priority above all else is Bridge Town's success. Which even means helping out the Tradeguild and Master when orders come in, and large deals need to be made. Bridge Town folk are proud of their home, no matter which side. But there is a pride to them, which leads to conflict local to home. Probably best to stay out the way if traders get into street fights, and are out trying to settle disputes! It always blows over... usually. -
