Our Standards

  • 1. Third Person POV IC.
    - For the sake of uniformity, all players are required to write in the Third Person POV when IC.

    2. No Metagaming or Godmodding.
    - If you don't know what these are and/or need an explanation, then this group probably isn't for you.

    3. No One-Liners.
    - With all due respect, please provide at least 2 or more paragraphs per reply. One paragraph is acceptable as well on the grounds that it's a solid, thorough length (~7-10 sentences).

    4. Character Profiles. Faceclaims Required.
    - You must have actual pictures in your character's profile. These images must also be of an actual person or "faceclaim" to suit. This rule is non-negotiable. No anime, sketches, digital artwork, or other related formats. Yes, you may have artwork featured in your character's profile, but it must be accompanied by a real life faceclaim that everyone can view. I appreciate and respect all artistic talent, but it's just not my style for RP, nor will it be the style for this group. I'm a visual person and require uniformity in order to genuinely immerse myself. Please don't ask me to deviate from this preference. The answer will always be a hard no.
    - Also, player characters used within the RP froums of this group must be human/humanoid presenting in nature. No weird monsters, animals, or anything abnormally un-humanoid. Obviously, the exception to this rule is shapeshifters or other related humanoid beings (werewolves, werecats, etc). My point is, all player characters must be human or human-presenting.

    5. Please Mark Sexually Explicit Topics
    - While not exactly required, I do believe in trying one's best to be respectful. If you start a sexually explicit topic, or the content of an ongoing topic turns explicit, please make an effort to mark it in the topic title. In addition, if you are participating in an open community thread where any character can join, please move any sexually explicit scene to either a new, private marked topic in the Guild's forums, or finish out the scene via PM.
However, as a member of this group please be aware of the potential to be exposed to content of this nature without warning. In my experience, most roleplayers are good about marking such topics when asked of them, as I am doing here. But every now and then an oversight may occur. So by joining us, please be aware that there's a chance of unintended/accidental exposure to not just sexually explicit content, but also other highly triggering subjects such as graphic depictions of blood, suicide, violence, coarse language, and just about anything else considered "triggering" or offensive nowadays.

    6. Absolutely No OOC Drama.
    - Know how to separate IC from OOC drama. What I'm about to say may sound harsher than intended (apologies in advance), but as adults you should have a decent grasp on Conflict Resolution. That isn't to say you can't come to me if you're having an issue with a player/character as it pertains to the group and/or its rules. Please do, and I will do my best to mediate and resolve the situation. However, I don't have the patience for personal feuds. Too often I've seen players take IC actions way too personally.
For example: if you're roleplaying with a character who's an asshole by nature, don't be surprised if they are exactly that IC -- an asshole! It's legitimately nothing personal, nor is it a reflection of the player behind the character. This mentality is simply toxic and literally the equivalent to people hating on RL actors and actresses for their exceptional portrayals of villains/antagonists in a film or TV series. It's immature and foolish and makes zero sense.
My point is, I'm not here to cater to sensitivities. If your character willingly engages with another player's character who has, for example, a villainous/evil/psychopathic/sociopathic/narcissistic personality -- or harbors offensive values and beliefs in general that may be expressed IC -- then that's on you, the player, for choosing to engage with them. Evil characters do evil things and have evil thoughts. Let them. If you can't grasp that concept, please move on. There are plenty of groups out there willing to accommodate your preferences. This is not one of them. And players who love writing villainous OCs? Have at it. We love them here. Let's explore those deep, dark recesses of the human psyche, yeah? Fun stuff.

    7. Respect Each Other's Space.
    - There is no set standard in this group regarding player activity. Please understand that most of your fellow roleplayers have RL responsibilities that require their time and attention. And some of us have crippling mental health issues that can often impact our creative ability. As someone with ADHD, depression, anxiety, and PTSD, I am a huge advocate for self-care and mental health. A healthy you makes a healthy whole. In other words, the healthier you are mentally the more you're able to bring to the group. We can't pour from empty vessels.
That being said, those of you who do need to take breaks or hiatuses to take care of yourself, please do so. However, if you're roleplaying with a player who prefers the momentum of frequent replies and you step away for a little while, please don't hold it against a frequent replier if they lose interest in continuing during your absence. Just like some of us need space, others need that frequency to stay engaged, and it's important we respect and acknowledge these differences without taking it personally. And while it is always preferred that you provide notice for a leave of absence, you will not be removed from this group if you disappear unexpectedly unless it has been 6 or more months with no communication. After 6 months with no contact, you will be removed from the group. If, at any point after that, you return, please drop me PM and we'll gladly welcome you back!
