After losing her parents at the age of 12, Donna Agnesia Wayong is passed from one uncaring relative to another until she’s sent away to another country altogether. But, she feels like the luckiest girl in the world after she moves in with her uncle Bill, a gardener. A gruff distant relative who seems to care for little else other than his work as a groundskeeper. To Donna, Alberta seems like paradise; she loves to explore the vast forest, always bringing her notebook to record the wildlife she encounters. She especially loves the birds, watching them with awe as they hatch and grow from fluffy chicks into beautiful birds. After years of neglect, all Donna wants is a place to call home, but her encounters with the dashing [Y/C] and the rest of society pose trials and tribulations for the tender-hearted girl.
[Y/C] the young, handsome man of Cunningham, is also interested in birds—and in Donna. But the difference, is he's interested in birds because he likes to hunt them... and he's interested in Donna because he likes to make her cry. If a lovely bird is trapped in a golden cage, which will she choose: a life of luxury, or freedom?
