Valtyr is one of my lesser used characters, so here's a quick rundown on his character:
Valtyr is a black furred wolf man with a large temper and a short fuse. He's paranoid of many things and prone to violence (both physical and verbal) over the smallest of incidents.
Valtyr is a native of the desert land of Malimore, a place known for being a bitter rival to the Empire of it's world and being occupied by the Empire to it's east and Magicka to it's west for most of it's life prior to it's independence. He is a veteran in the Malimorian War of Independence and very loyal to Malimore as well as the Malimorian gods being the only one he tolerates. The oppression of the empire's forces of the people of Malimore during their occupation are the main things that inspired his hatred. The loss of Malimore ended up making him more bitter and resentful. Even when the land did gain independence, it wasn't from the efforts of the Malimorian people, but rather one of the many clauses of the Eclipse Treaty between the Empire and Magicka. This just made him even more bitter and the time he started the God Slayers.
The manner he dresses and presents himself is similar to that of Victorian England's fashion and is heavily inspired by the video game Bloodborne.
The most accurate portrayal of the outfit I have in mind would be something like...
Meanwhile, the weapon he uses would be similar to the Saw Cleaver of the same game.
