It had been a couple of weeks since Rowdy, Lia, and Sadie fled from the scene from the apartments and made it a little further south in Florida. The trio had found yet another rundown place to live even though they were trying not to because the internet seemed to have failed them, again. Either way, they all made do and cleaned their condos with Lia and Rowdy living together on the second floor and Sadie living on the third. They had all gotten busy with work or school, so they made some time for them to meet on Sunday mornings over coffee, breakfast, and shopping.
Sadie woke up early and went to the coffee shop down the road and ordered each of them a coffee. She made sure she had the largest of their preferred coffees with getting Rowdy a double shot cappuccino, Lia's heavy cream coffee, and her own mocha cappuccino with a double shot She soon headed back towards the condos with the drinks in her hands and walked up to the two flights of stairs. She was standing in front of Rowdy and Lia's apartment about to knock and head in, but a sense of deja vu washed over her. She chuckled softly and mumbled, "Well, let's hope Lia doesn't burn this place down." She proceeded to knock and head inside, hoping her friends were awake.

Although Lia had been utterly terrified, and drunk at the time, and still felt incredibly guilty about setting the apartment on fire, life was moving on, and they had found yet another nightmare to live in. At least this one offered a beautiful view of the ocean and marina. The condo was no less gross, but the stress of living alone was taken away when she just started living, officially, with Rowdy. Plus, they didn’t exactly trust her not to burn down this condo too.
As life moved on, routines began to form. Sadie bought and renovated her bar, Rowdy started going to school and got a job, and Lia found herself a job too. She was also learning the basics of living, and cleaning. She wasn’t very good at it yet, but she was learning. With all these routines making them all busy at different times, they had set Sundays aside for them to shop, hang out, grab food together and anything else they may need, and it was a day Lia always looked forward too.
That Sunday, Lia woke up curled in the bed she shared with Rowdy. No, they were not dating or having sex, but the bed was large enough that they easily shared it so one of them was not always on the couch. She stretched out as she rolled over to detangle herself from the blankets and she quietly checked to see if he was still in bed or not before quietly creeping to the bathroom. It was just after she finished, and luckily stepped out that she heard the knock. She quickly closed the bathroom door, before reaching to finish opening their front door. “Good morning, Sadie!” She greeted her friend lightly as she stepped out of the way. “Come on in. I just woke up.”

Rowdy usually was up with the sun, unless the trio had been partying the night before. But, thanks to rigorous schedules they didn’t get to hang out like they thought they would. Rowdy welcomed Lia into his life enough to share a condo and a bed with her. He found himself loving Lia but more in a sisterly way than anything romantic. She was beautiful, but something in his gut told him she wasn’t the one he was meant for. So, they started building a trusting relationship and started teaching her the basics of taking care of herself.
Rowdy was not a neat freak, but he didn’t like things to be dirty. Which led to Lia having a list of things to do daily. From making sure her clothes made it into the hamper, to hanging up her towels in the bathroom, to putting her dirty dishes in the sink. The rest of the cleaning was being introduced slowly so she could master the ever-increasing tasks. Lia was progressing slowly but surely.
Sunday morning found Rowdy on the beach. He had seen some of the surfers taking a run on the sand one morning from his balcony and thought that running on sand might be a good workout, so he tried it. And Holy Hell was it a workout. It took three times the effort to run on loose sand than it did on pavement. The good thing about it was that he only needed a thirty-minute run, rather than a normal hour. It freed up some time for him.
He jogged up the stairs to the second floor and entered into the Condo right behind Sadie. He was sure he smelled terrible and would be getting into the shower in a matter of seconds. But he reached over her shoulder and grabbed the double shot large cappuccino. He knew him reaching over her shoulder might startler her, so he followed his action up with a swift kiss to Sadie’s cheek. “Mornin’ coffee lady.” With coffee in hand he quickly moved out of Sadie’s reach as she was likely to react with a punch. He laughed in his good-natured way and took a drink of his coffee. “I look forward to Sundays just for these,” he said, lifting the cup in a cheers to his friend. He then glanced at Lia, “I am going to take a shower if you are okay with that?” He wasn’t sure if Lia was still in the middle of getting herself ready for the day.

"Good morning, Lia!" Sadie replied to Lia's greeting as she walked in through the door of Lia and Rowdy's condo. As she just stepped foot through the door, she saw an arm reach over her shoulder from behind and grabbed one of the coffees. She was startled at first but then started chuckling softly when she realized it was a very sweaty Rowdy as he gave her a quick kiss on the cheek."Good morning sweaty beast." She replied amusedly as she gave him a gentle nudge with her elbow to his ribs in a friendly way. "Nothing like the smell of your sweaty armpits to start my day there, Rowdy." She jokingly said to him and walked towards Lia and handed her the large coffee with heavy cream. "Hopefully, this will wake you up further, and we can start our day." She spoke to Lia and smiled at her friend.
Sadie turned back towards Rowdy after she heard his comment about the Sundays and smirked at him. "I can keep them coming every Sunday. I quite enjoy having this day set aside for both of you. Even if it's only for the coffee." She winked playfully at him to show she was joking about the last part. She knew that they all had been quite busy and getting used to their work loads and anything else they were doing. Sundays were for them to get together and unwind for at least a few hours out of the week.
She looked between her friends before she spoke again. "When ever you two are ready, we can get going. I have everything I need for when we leave." She chatted with each of them as the other got showered or finished getting ready for the day and sipped on her coffee. She had her keys and clutch in hand so all she could do was wait for Lia and Rowdy, which she did not mind. If they had finished and were ready, she would start heading down towards her vehicle and head towards their first destination.

As it had turned out, Lia was alone when she woke up that morning, but it wasn’t for long before her friend stood in the small, galley kitchen holding coffee. The sight made Lia grin as she stepped back to let her in. “Rowdy’s…” Lia was literally just about to tell Sadie that Rowdy wasn’t here, when she saw a rather familiar tattooed arm reach over Sadie’s shoulder. And once more, this caused Lia to grin. “Right there.” Lia laughed as she saw him.
Lia smiled as Rowdy lightly kissed Sadie’s cheek, but giggled lightly at her comment of his smell. Generally, he actually smelled quite pleasant, like fresh grass and clear water, except for after a run. She took the coffee she was being offered as Rowdy piped up that he would be having a shower, but not before offering if Lia needed it first. Playfully, Lia shook her head. “I can smell you from here, sweetheart. I can finish anything I have to do afterwards.”
Once she had addressed him, and he made motions to go shower, she took the first sip of coffee, much too large because she wasn’t quite prepared for what may have been inside of it. Her eyes widened lightly and she chuckled as she realized they did it to her…again. And that they were about to have a very interesting trip. “Come get dressed with me while we wait. And thank you very much for this, by the way.” She said as she held up the coffee. While Rowdy readied, Lia did as well so that when they were both ready, they could just leave.

Rowdy was the clown to Sadie’s seriousness while being the rock Lia needed. He was enjoying his life with two good friends he could be himself with. The comments about his sweating smell made him smile mischievously and say, “It’s the smell of hard work, ladies.” He took a drink from the still extremely hot cup of coffee. “Ahhhh. Perfect as usual,” he said as he gave Sadie a wink. He started moving towards the bathroom and turned to remind Lia, “I put your clean laundry in the white basket, okay? Don’t dress yourself with what’s in the green basket. I still need to wash that. White Basket.” He disappeared into the bathroom and closed the door. Seconds later, they heard the shower running.
Rowdy had learned his lesson about reciting poetry in the shower and he wasn’t much of a singer, so he just soaped himself up and got out. He wrapped a towel around his waist as he brushed his teeth, shaved, and styled his half dry hair. Once he was done in the bathroom, he cracked the door to the bedroom and peeked in. He had learned not to just walk into the bedroom as he had seen Lia naked a dozen times already. When he saw the coast was clear, he opened the door of the bathroom and entered the bedroom. He closed the bedroom door and said to the ladies, “I’ll be just another minute.” He got dressed quickly in worn blue jeans, a white t-shirt with some Van sneakers. He tucked his wallet and keys into his pockets and re-entered the living room. “Do I smell better?” He joked with them. His coffee had cooled off enough where he could enjoy it. “Let’s head to the store. I want to look for steaks so I can make us a really good lunch.” If they were ready, he would follow them out of the condo and into Sadie’s car. Rowdy had to fight the urge to start singing the 80’s song ‘Get out of my dreams. Get into my car.’ He didn’t think anyone would get it.
