Methodist Episcopal Church

Sherman's Methodist women pushed for a church. They argued that if they were bringing children to settle in what would become a town, and maybe a city, they wanted a church !!
The first Methodist meetings in Laramie, Wyoming, were held in 1868. The Methodist Episcopal Church is established in March of 1869, with G.F. Hilton as pastor, and the first church building is completed in December, 1870.
