Lycanthropy 101

  • Expectations

This isn't a set lore, but there are limits on supernatural characters. Obviously vampires/shapeshifters/witches/whathaveyou are welcome. It doesn't just need to be a bunch of humans and slobbering wolves running around every full moon. We just won't accept any Gods, Primes, Deities, half gods, Any of The First as far as supernaturals go (so no 'My werewolf is the first one ever born' or 'my vampire was turned by the first one ever created') and anything super powered or obnoxiously hard to kill. In this dream, werewolves can be killed pretty easily, but only by people that know how to do it.

We don't care if your character thinks they're the baddest thing to walk the earth since sliced bread. We just care if your character is twinking up the place being obnoxious. This includes humans! If your character is a walking arsenal of guns that, in reality, would make it impossible to walk let alone run around shooting then we're going to call you on that nonsense and either ask you to tone it down, or ask you to leave.

IF YOU ARE EVER UNSURE ABOUT SOMETHING, PLEASE WHISPER KOSTYA OR SUMRAK/DUSKWATCH IN GAME. We promise not to bite your head off, and would prefer someone ask us rather than not.

    Born VS Bitten

Believe it or not, there is a difference! In a nutshell: Born wolves are usually faster and stronger than bitten wolves. They have superior control over their shapes, and are less prone to having their change spiked by an intense emotion. Usually, born wolves do not identify as two separate beings. They are wolves trapped beneath human flesh when not shifted. Their human appearance is the equivalent of a flesh suit to hide around in. Many do not behave or reason as a human would.

On the opposite side of the coin, bitten wolves are less susceptible to the classic weaknesses of werewolves/lycanthrope. Because they were not born/are more of a disease than a natural state of being, their bloodline isn't as strong. So while they're not up to par with born wolves, they are a bit more sturdy when it concerns silver/wolfsbane/things of that nature. This also means that they are less in control of their emotional state unless they've gone through some kind of training to be in control of themselves. Which means come a full moon, they're the ones running around aimlessly and trying to eat people. Usually, bitten wolves identify as being human even after their change, and see the wolf inside them as some kind of 'monster' or 'evil being'.
  • Werewolves in the military

Only a select few within the Russian Government know of the existence of werewolves. There is a special forces branch within the military in which werewolves are enlisted and go through intense training to be the 'perfect soldier'. It's no walk in the park, and usually those that don't make it wind up dead.

These are wolves that can shift at will, no matter the phase of the moon or even the time of day. They are called in to completely and utterly destroy a target/location, and are kept on a very tight leash.
