(Later this day) [No squad Required]
It seemed that the beginning of BranchWood Academy for all the new years was running smoothly. Perhaps some of them haven't done missions and such but, it seemed that everyone was getting along well. Perhaps to well when it came down to things. Everyone seemed so close and personal with each other but, nothing like that can last forever. This is something that we know as Fate. Something that has us all in the palm of its hand. Some believe Fate can be controlled others call it destiny. Some even just submit to Fate when it shows itself.
BranchWood Academy has become a place that is considered a strong hold for all to be safe within. Perhaps this was a foreboding thing. Perhaps what was to come was unexpected and dangerous. Maybe others had saw it coming but, it was hard to say. All that we know was BranchWoody Academy had lost 79 of its students on this day. Only if we were to have seen it coming it could have been avoided the lives could of been saved.
(Earlier the same day) [the BranchWood Academy missions will take place after this if squad a haven't signed up for any yet.]
"Attention all BranchWood Academy members. I Head Master am pleased to say we have started this year off well and right! We have had a successful count of 30 missions done within our first few months here in BranchWood Academy. I must say that I am glad to have you be a part of our history in the making. May we continue on the path we have set together. Good day students and do your best today." with that the Head Master was gone again with no trace. He always seemed to only talk a short time before he was off like always. The loud announcement finally ended and everyone returned to their daily routine.
The day had begun with the announcement from the Head Master good news indeed. He must have been proud to speak to his students so early and commend them on their efforts.

"An exotic commodity indeed.", Aerik thought, his head moving back down to his literature. It was not common in the least for the Headmaster to make such an announcement, or rather any announcement, over the school intercom. And for all things? To announce pride in the school? "Ridiculous", mumbled Aerik beneath his breathe.
Thoughts pasted his mind, however. This was almost too queer of a situation, even for Branchwood. Aerik attempted rigorously to block the thoughts out from distracting him from research, but the doubt and suspicion festered in his mind. Perhaps it was nothing. Maybe he truly did just read too much into detail sometimes.
He sat up from beneath the shaded area of the tree, closing his book with a loud clap and stuffing it back into his satchel. He looked up at the sky. "Today is going to be a unique day", he thought as his smile slowly turned into a worried frown.

Gahnbara thought the announcement through the intercom was a little strange and he put some thought into it before finally giving up on thinking about and went to find his squad mates. Eventually finding Aerik he walked over "wonderful a friendly face around here, I see you enjoy reading" he said looking around the area intensively
Quade was in the middle of the crowd weaving in between people managing to actually keep himself normal. Finally he broke out of the crowd of people and walked over to Gahnbara and Aerik mainly because of the clear area. "Well, You two mind if I stay in this area. I'm not a fan of crowds." He leaned back against the wall.
"Anyone else think the announcement is off? I know I do, This wasn't something I expected." He shrugged and laughed "I Dunno you can't get a positive reading on that man."

Sasuki looks up as the PA system as the HeadMaster speaks, his hate holding heat back as he listens. He bares his teeth as he listened to him talk. He wasn't too pleased to hear his voice, but his words were nice to hear, he was relaxed after a moment of unfolding the news. His fangs skip over his lower lip as he smiles slowly. "Well, good to hear that. I figured we would get that many at this rate, but not this many."
He chuckles and looks up at the ceiling for a bit, a small red fruit with many sharp spikes floats out of his bag and to his hand. "Hopefully we get a good amount of missions done at the end of the year." He speaks before biting into the fruit. The juice falling onto the ground.
As he chews the fruit slowly and looks back down at the floor. "I just hope things don't go too far out of the ordinary, we can't afford another dramatic blow out." He looks to his shoulder, or what used to be there, and sighs a bit.
"Oh well."

Aerik looked over to Gahnbara and quickly noted the way he looked about. "A sign of worry, perhaps", Aerik thought deductively. "Perhaps I am not the only one bothered by this."
Aerik slung his satchel over his shoulder and smiled at Gahnbara's greeting. "It is good to see you as well, my friend.", He said. "I was taking notes on the human anatomy when that announcement was made. What brings you to this side of the campus? And have you seen James about as well?"

Aerik turned to Quade and examined his features. "I don't mind.", Aerik spoke. "I too do not enjoy crowds. What is your name, sir?"
Gahnbara looked to Quade and waved "not a problem at all, glad to see fresh faces around" he then looked back to Aerik "that announcement was not made for no reason, it was made a little more rushed than the rest have you noticed?" He said crossing his arms
Aerik sighed. "Yes, I have. The Headmaster never makes announcements. And of all things to announce! Most bewildering if you ask me. And I will not deny my suspicions."
"I did notice the hastiness in his voice. Indeed it is worrisome but, I can't place anything on why it would happen. The names Quade its good to meet you fellows." He places his hand on his upper chest and bows before them. "I Think you may be onto something with the announcement though. I haven't seen him do announcements like that before in ages."
Gahnbara looked at Quade with suspicion "where did you learn that salute?" He asked originally thinking he was the only one who did the salute in Branchwood
James walked across the lawn at a quick but controlled pace, bearing his knapsack which has around twenty slots in the shoulder strap which now hold the wooden spikes he had enchanted earlier. he also has changed from his street clothes to what appear to be more hiking related clothing, boots, Hide pants and jacket. The only thing that hasn't changed about his attire is the flat cap which eternally seems attached to his head.
"Sorry I'm late everyone, got caught up unpacking. had to find my gear and all." he looked up at the others, noting the new person present. "Hey, James, Carmichael. Enchantment Specialist." he said, touching his finger to his hat brim in greeting.

Quade looks at Gahnbara.. "What do you mean where did I Learn it? I've done it for years." he looked away just increasing suspicion. It didn't help that naturally Quade was older then humans already due to his unique heritage as an Abyssal Mimic. This made things a little sketchy when you've been all. He brushes off the rest of Gahnbara 's Question and looks at the new man who just walked up. "The names Quade." he looked at James and completely avoided the bow this time. "Hmm well we are making a bit of a crowd here. Perhaps I'll move back a bit" he moved a little away still staying mainly within the conversation.
Gahnbara began to walk away "I'm getting to the bottom of whatever is going on"" he said increasing his pace to speed up making his way towards the back area where all the teachers would be hiding the headmaster himself
Quade looks at Gahnbara... "Hey I wou..." he was out of reach by the time he opened his mouth. "Damn it." Quade got up to go catch up with Gahnbara. It wouldn't have been wise to deal with the head master or teachers alone after all.
"If you need to get in, you will need a teacher or the key to the teacher tower." Sasuki spoke I. The background, mainly aiming to hit Gahnbara with his words. He snaps his fingers and forms a long silver key out of black flames that have consumed his index finger and thumb. "I may be able to help." He lifted his head and took a bit of his fruit, smiling softly as he chews on the chunk. He waits for Gahnbara to notice, or anyone really.
Gahnbara stopped and slowly turned to face Sasuki "will you help me get in then?" he asked grinding his teeth feeling weak from asking Sasuki to help him, after all he only resorted to looking for assistance unless it was his last option
Aerik watched as Gahnbara rushed away as Quade followed hastily. Aerik was content in waiting for an answer.
He prepared himself to say something to James, but a sight distracted his thoughts. He saw Sasuki, a member of Defiance squad, signaling to Gahnbara whilst eating a fruit. Aerik had heard much about the success of Defiance's mission; how they successfully retrieved their target, how they arrived too late to save the missing squad members, and how they fared in their clash against the traitor Stanton. Aerik knew of the power Sasuki had control over. He also knew he was a Half-Demon. This knowledge put Aerik on edge. Demons are capable of much, and not a lot of it was good.
It made Aerik's bones itch

He smiled devilishly and laughed a bit, "I've never seen you so agitated, friend." He spoke with angst. "I will, if you wish to try, I have been wanting to... Talk to him for a while." He looks over to Aerik, now seeing him and scanning him with dark eyes. "You... Aerik, yes?" He turns to him and walks forward, putting the fuit-filled hand up and extending his index finger to Gahnbara as he walks, the key he summoned now dangling on his wristlets among other charms. "I saw you on the charts recently. I was hopping you'd be in my class so I could get some more info on you as I teach, but I guess things didn't go as planned." He raises his hand and shrugs, his shadow does the same, but now shows the shadow having two arms, instead of what his actual body shows-only his right arm.
Gahnbara nodded and waved an arm for Sasuki to follow him "if you wish I shall share my techniques with you, just as long as we do not spar I want t be in top form whenever we face the headmaster" he said dropping his bag by Aerik "feel free to look in my bag, you are open to anything inside, I can collect the missing materials later" he said then begn walknig into the Teachers area
