Zanzibar was outside wandering around the edge of the forested area beside the arena getting in sync with his surroundings. His arms were crossed behind his back and he was stepping slowly and lightly listening to anything he could get a sense of "It feels nice to be outside in the silence, where no one can disturb me" he said walking around small objects like pebbles and bushes.
The majority of the wizard's time was spent within the Arena after having been elected to replace Errown as Master of the Arena until he had gotten well or further notice, however today he was spending his time outside conditioning once again. He wasn't too far into the forest, but not close enough to be seen. There was an open area not too far in where he was sitting, his eyes closed, and seemingly asleep. With every intake of air, the wind seemed to flow into the forest causing the trees to lean in before a large breeze passed in the opposite direction. If anyone were outside to see it, it would look as if the very forest itself was breathing in and out, but it was only Nelìs gaining the upper hand on his magic.
Zanzibar felt the wind and looked around him, he stood still to get an understanding of where it was coming from. when he pin pointed it he started heading towards it's origin slowly as his bones kept stiffening every now and then an at times he would ramble to himself "Cursed limbs, can't go anywhere without them trying to give out on me can I? i'm gonna have to find a fix for that when I get back" he told himself and kept moving towards the winds origins
Meditation for the wizard was somewhere between sleep and awareness, but unfortunately he was leaning more towards the sleep side and he was not aware of the man who was approaching. Of course Nelìs never took precaution no matter how necessary it was. Being in a forest that had proven to be dangerous before required extreme precaution, yet it was just like the wizard to not give a damn about his well being while he was in a meditative state as he was. Instead he was placid in his spot, unmoving and possibly indulged in sleep although he should be conditioning.
As the old assassin came upon the half sleeping wizard and snuck up on it and sat down next to him "so this is what's causing the up draft, didn't expect it to be so sleepy" he said chuckling under his breath then covering his mouth as it transformed into a cough. "So what brings you out here mage?" he asked his natural curiosity kicking in
In the first few moments the wizard did not stir until the man had asked his question. Nelìs's head lifted a bit before he released a deep sight that blew a gust throughout the forest and he peeled his eyes open, but his languid state didn't last long as he felt a presence beside him. The immediate thought on his mind was to assault until he recalled the question that had just processed through his thoughts. His golden eyes and shoulders grew lax as he glanced to the man who sat beside him. He brought a hand up to comb his dark blue hair away from his face as he yawned. The ignorant wizard was indeed sleeping.
"You startled me for a bit there," a grin formed on his lips as his hand fell back into his lap. "I was conditioning for the first few minutes," his voice trailed of as he thought and began again, "but I suppose I had fallen asleep. What are you doing out here? No one is usually outside."
"You startled me for a bit there," a grin formed on his lips as his hand fell back into his lap. "I was conditioning for the first few minutes," his voice trailed of as he thought and began again, "but I suppose I had fallen asleep. What are you doing out here? No one is usually outside."
"Just going out for a stroll, giving my bones a good work out keeping them from stiffening on me" he said as he bent his elbow back and forth "an old man like me has got to keep going somehow, this is how I do it" he said and removed his hood revealing his african american skin "I do not like to sit still, makes me feel my age when I don't want to, I like to move around, stay away from being at one place so I don't get too attached to it" he nipped at his own nose a few times and took a deep breathe in "That and I just hate being inside it's so dusty in the building, they should try working on that"
"Well, maybe it's fate that you ran into me," he tugged at the tips of his white gloves, his eyes studying the man's elbow. There had been quite a few men that the wizard knew that were similar to the man sitting beside him and he always found them to have interesting tales and stories. "Maybe I could help with your joints?" he slipped his glove from his naked hand, stretching his fingers in the air. It wasn't often that he exposed his hands unless he was alone because his skin was too great of a conductor. "I think all wizards are good doctors, yes?" he reached out his hand to the man's arm, a small smile lingering on his lips, "May I?"
Zanzibar nodded "Go for it, if you think you can keep them from stiffening on me i'd appreciate it very much" he said and held and arm out for the wizard to do his thing "you know, I haven't come across too many wizards, but just enough to tell the difference between a good wizard and a bad wizard, a veteran and a novice, the teacher and the student, oh I could make many jokes about the students they always find someway to make a fool of themselves" he stated and started laughing away
Nelìs chuckled at his words, "As can I. I was once a teacher and students at times can be real fools and not notice it." The moment his hand came to touch Zanzibar's he would come to feel as if there was a hot liquid other than his blood coursing through his veins, however it was the power of the Trait Wielder that spread onto him. The wizard was quick to contain the matter because too much of it could cause the man's arm to expand and explode. This was one of the reasons why Nelìs conditions often: in order to keep his magic under control to avoid both harm to himself and others that he may come into contact with. Soon Zanzibar could literally feel the joint healing itself. "I'm only acting as a catalyst," Nelìs spoke thoughtfully as he kept his focus on using only portions of his magic, "Your arm was already trying to heal itself, so I just quickened it up. Do you feel anything different?"
Zanzibar moved his arm around "Well it doesn't feel like it wants to freeze up on me that's for sure, you know you're a real piece of work, I find it difficult to come upon people like you and I treasure each moment I have with them" he said and held a hand out for Nelis to shake it "i'm Zanzibar, old Assassin" he said
This brought a genuine smile upon Nelís's lips and he slipped back on his glove then took the man's hand in for a firm shake. "Nelís Orlitt," he dipped his head a bit in courtesy, "I'm a Trait Wielder." His mind drifted back to the foreign name and his head shot back up, his face filled with excitement. "Zanzibar," he tasted the name as he began to recall something, his hand lowering, "is that a name of Northern Africa?"
Zanzibar nodded "Yes it is, that is my home it is where I learned the art of stealth and silent murder" he said extending one of his two hidden blades from his wrist "I made these myself, and I have had them since I was 23" he said retracting it once again to keep it from accidentally stabbing Nelis
The wizards eyes fell to the aged blades, yet they still looked as if they were made yesterday. Zanzibar must've tended to them well due to their great condition. "And how old are you now?" maybe it was rude to ask, but Nelís was truly anxious of the man's age though of course he would respect the elderly or those older than him.
Zanzibar stared for a moment then started counting fingers "it's been a while since I had to tell my age I almost forgot" after several moments of counting over and over in his head "57" he stated and put both hands back in his lap "I am 57 years old, and yet I still do what I was born to do after all these years" he said a slight smile formed on his face
"Wow," the word barely managed to slip through Nelís lips, almost mouthing it instead and his face was filled with new found wonder. "I hope I'm in as good condition as you when I get around that age," he chuckled to himself as he rose to his feet, not even having to push himself from the ground. The wizard outstretched his hand to the man to help him to his feet, "Like you said: you shouldn't sit down for too long.." His smile was soft as he spoke again, "You should be praised for still being active at this age. Well.. There are still some older than you, but they're still in their youth. You, on the other hand, are brilliant."
Zanzibar took the mans hand and heaved himself up "yeah well, at times my age catch's up to me and I find some way to out run it, can't say I can do that for much longer but might as well do what I can while I can" he said laughing some more
An individual seemed to make movement along the outside of the forest. The movements seemed very quick as if someone was closing in on their location at a fast pace. The movement and rustling of the forest made it impossible to approach without being noticed. The man stopped as he stood in a crowded section of the forest and looked at the two individuals. "Hmmm… You weren't who I expected to find out here." The man had spoke from the shadows of the trees. Without any additional light it was impossible to get an idea of who this man was.
Zanzibar quickly looked in the direction of the voice and extended both hidden blades "Who were you expecting then? an young child and a dog?" he said slightly sarcastic but serious about his first question standing in his traditional stance
He raised his head and looked at him. "I was expecting a certain individual who's been hiding out here for some time. I thought I had finally gotten a location on him, Turns out all the sounds I had heard were you two. Though, I suppose that isn't an issue… My hunt has led me here to you two instead. I suppose this will have to do for now." The sound of the mans voice seemed to be losing its emotion slowly and becoming very monotoned.
