During another ordinary day at BranchWood academy. A young woman stepped through the halls with a busy expression on her face. She wore a tight, provocative suit, with two belts crossed over barely covering her chest area, with her midriff exposed while white, puffy sleeves that cover her arms. The woman had two large wings, one dark green wing to the left and blue with a hint of white to the right. She had long blue hair that reaches down to her knees. Her most outstanding feature was her long black tail that she dragged around the floor, along with yellow ribbons on the side of her hair and her tail. The woman continued to walk down the hallway, with the still, busy expression. I've been in this academy for two years now and I still can't find a squad, training schedule and classes I want to take! The girl stopped in the gallway and sighed, I'm not ready for anything...
Aerik walked down the hall with a book open in his hands. Richard Rutherford's Explanation of the Properties of Alchemy was printed in bold on the cover of the thick mound of paper. Recent events had left Aerik behind on his research and he was struggling to catch back up. He resolved that walking and reading would be a good balance in the multitasking sense. However, this might prove to be wrong. As Aerik walked down the hall, he did not notice a woman heading in the same direction. Aerik bumped into this student, which sent the text he was so eagerly buried in flying to the floor. He turned back to face the woman. "Oh! My apologies. I didn't mean to.." Aerik looked over her strange dress with confused interest. It was not often that one would see someone on campus dress in such a way. "Excuse me, miss.", he started. "Is there some sort of cultural celebration today? You seem to be dressed so festively"
As the woman walked down the hall she had no time to react to be the student who bumped into her. The student shrieked as she was startled by the student's careless action and fell over on her backside in a panic. She quickly looked up at the student who bumped into her and shook her head. "No, no, it's alright!" The woman said, trying to seem fine about it. The woman tilted her head confused about what she said about her clothing." There's a festival?"
"Oh, I'm not sure. I wanted to know the same thing. I don't see many students walking in the halls with such... flashy clothing.", Aerik said, struggling for words to describe the outfit. "Come to think of it, I don't recall your face. Normally I would remember it if I had seen it before. Are you a new student, by chance?". Aerik thought over his careless actions as his face grew red with slight embarrassment. "I probably gave you the worst first impression of the Academy. I'm terribly sorry". Aerik extended his hand to help the student up. "My name is Aerik. This is my first year here."
The student sat on floor trying to figure out what he meant by "flashy clothing." The student tilted her head some more, "I don't recall there ever being a festival." The student stared down at her attire not seeing what was so interesting about it. "I...usually wear this.." she said quietly. The girl quickly shot her head at the new student "but that's okay, I've been here for two years now. Bumping other student's by accident isn't that bad!"
Aerik's head lowered with a sigh of shame. "Just forget I said anything. I didn't mean to insult you in anyway. I don't get much time to socialize", he said, putting his hand to the back of his neck and chuckling. Aerik still had his other hand extended in an offering of assistance. It was the least he could do for acting like such a fool. "Maybe we can start this whole mess over. I don't believe I caught your name."
The woman quickly stood up from the floor and shook her head once more. "Oh no! It's okay I'm not offended one bit!" The student said, with a warming smile. "My name is Dizzy nice to meet you Mr!" Dizzy said smiling at the new student. "I'm not good at talking to others either, it's fine."
Aerik smiled in relief. "That's good. It's nice to meet you too. If you don't mind me saying so, your name is interesting as well", Aerik said, picking his book up off of the ground. He decided to place it into his bag, as his multitasking planned proved inefficient. "So, what brings you to the academy?"
Dizzy watched the student grab his book off the floor and place it into the bag. "My purpose for coming to the academy." Dizzy thought about the question for a second, she honestly couldn't think of anything. "There's so many..." Dizzy said putting her hands on her head.
Aerik stared in disbelief. "You really don't know why you came here?", he said, throwing his pack over his shoulder. "Nothing in particular pops out? For example, I came here to hone my abilities and to, well, figure out what those abilities even are exactly. This school also has just the most amazing collection of books in it's library.", Aerik said, smiling and laughing. He lowered his glee. "I'm sorry, I don't mean to pry into your life after I just met you."
Dizzy shook her head, honestly she honestly couldn't think of anything. She definitely didn't come to the academy just because the had a large variety of books. There was a reason why she came to the academy she just couldn't remember the reason why.
