This primary desert region is located just next door to the massive island called the Forbidden Estate. It is primarily desert due to ravenous attacks from Tiamat and her armies. As a result there aren't many cities to speak of and the ones that due still exist are typically low in population and the populous lives in fear of Tiamat and her armies. The desert of Alirva has been known to be inhabited by few people. The terrain has little deviation from the shifting sands save for minor oases that are few and far between and rock areas, on one of which the major city of Vlaskir has been built. Walled up heavily the city is the capital of the Valdrivian Empire. The only other area that is lived in in the desert is home to the mostly peaceful Leonarvin. The desert is pretty much dead during the day except for the humanoid beings that live there, they move during the day to harvest the many edible cacti before the predators of the night come out, hunting is done at night, except by the imperials who slay beasts during their sleeping hours and return to their walled city.
Alirva Desert
The main desert of the Questaria region, this is the worlds largest desert and, as much of the region is, it was reduced to a desert courtesy of Tiamat's destructive campaigns.

Landmarks
Chapel of the Everliving Master: The chapel is somewhat like you'd picture except that on the far end is a gold and red statue of a man who carries a sword and shield, below those items is a pit for the dropping of 'holy' sacrifices, be they animal or food. The seats are made of wood and stone, imported from other areas. There are banners all over with a double blade and a tome as a symbol, the chapel is always open and there are usually people there, praying or giving their sacrifice to their diety.

The shaman is the leader of their faith and the deliverer of justice in the village. the Warchief makes the decisions on what is allowed within village walls minus anything pertaining to nature, he also leads warparties after attackers of the village. The leonarvin are a peaceful people who only adopted the warchief part of things after increased attacks from the empire.
