NV is going to be closing as a Furcadia map very soon. We had a great 4 and a half years, but I've reached a point in my life where I'm no longer able to dedicate the time and attention that running a dream necessitates. With my own disabilities and IRL situation, it's just time for me to move on.
You're probably wondering why I don't just hand the map off to someone else, and the reason for that is primarily that many of the custom patches can't transfer ownership because of licensing. I'd have to gut the map in order to pass it on. Beyond that, the group is remaining open as a Discord and RPR community, so I will be retaining ownership.
NV started out as a pipe dream and a late night conversation with friends, and it grew into one of the largest communities on both Furcadia and RPR for a while. You were a part of something truly awesome, and we had a great run. So, thank you for being a driving force in my creation and for supporting that pipe dream. It couldn't have made it without your help.
What about the community? Well, aside from being open as a Discord server, I wanted to wait until there was a viable, comparable alternative for people who like NV's setting and storytelling style. A new modern dream will be opening soon. NV's world package for life is being transferred to their uploader, and hopefully our upload spot as well. I'll let them field questions about the setting and their plans to move forward when they're ready to do so, as the new dream is its own entity and location, and I have had nothing to do with development.
To be clear, it's not a continuation of the NV setting, but its own world, although NV characters will be welcome. It's the end of an era, friends, but also the start of a new one. When announcements are made and the new dream opens, please be sure to give them your support!

It will always be a super fun community! It's not over, it's just growing up and taking a new shape. It was an amazing experience being part of the world and working behind the scenes with all the creative souls behind the heart of NV. You're all freaking awesome and although I don't have much time for RP these days I'm humbled by all of the amazing people I've met through NV.

Thank you for rekindling my desire to be on Furcadia, and kickstarting me back into roleplay again. I'd all about given up before finding New Versailles. It's been fun.

New Versailles was the door for human roleplay for me, and I really appreciate all the new faces it's given me (both friendwise and characterwise!) I'm sad to see it leave furcadia and I hope for the best in the future. Thanks for providing us with it while it lasted.
