ABOUT
The Pit is an underground supernatural dog fighting operation. However, instead of pitbulls, werewolves do the fighting. Werewolves of New Versailles beware! A few days prior to the full moon, some of the city's werewolves are hunted down, kidnapped, captured, and held prisoner in dark, dank dungeons. On the night of the full moon, the wolves shift and are forced to fight in The Pit in some of the best and bloodiest entertainment New Versailles has to offer.

COMBAT SYSTEM
Ӣ Fighters will use a manual dice system similar to the one used in the bi-weekly Fight Night events.
Ӣ Both fighters will roll a 1d20. The highest roll goes first.
Ӣ The attacker will post their attempted attack and then roll a 1d10. The defender will also roll a 1d10. If the attacking roll is lower than the defending roll then the attack is a miss. If the attacking roll is higher than the defending roll, then the attack hits.
Ӣ If the attack is a success, the attacker will roll a 1d4 to determine the severity of the hit.
1 = Glancing blow. Easily shrugged off. May bruise.
2 = Substantial hit. Will cause significant discomfort. Will definitely bruise. May draw blood.
3 = Major hit. Will continue to hurt for the duration of the fight. There will be blood.
4 = Critical hit. You just got fucked up, son. That's gonna hurt beyond the fight. There's a lot of blood. Oh god, it's everywhere. There may be some kind of fracture or break.
Ӣ Each fighter gets a total of 10 HP. After a successful hit, the resulting severity roll is subtracted from the defender's HP.
Ӣ The defender will then post. First, they'll write a response to the attack, whether it's a hit or a miss, and with the proper reaction relative to the severity dealt, if any. Then, in the next part of their post, they'll write an attack of their own and the whole process repeats.
Ӣ The fight is over when one of the combatants is reduced to 0 HP or the 2 hour time limit is reached. After the time limit, the fighter with the highest HP wins. If there is a HP tie, the fighter with the highest average severity wins.
Ӣ 0 HP can equal one of three things: K.O., death (non-permanent), or death (permanent). The player decides what they want 0 HP to mean for their werewolf character. ICly, to the death is preferred for entertainment value, but is NOT a requirement.
K.O. (Knock out) - The fighter is incapacitated, knocked out, unconscious, etc. Badly beaten, but still breathing. This is likely the most popular option for players. IC, when werewolf stock is low, K.O. fights are preferred so The Pit isn't losing too many fighters.
Death (non-permanent) - Depending on the werewolf's design, the werewolf may be able to suffer fatal wounds and be more or less considered dead, only to later regenerate/heal and be back to life.
Death (permanent) - Pretty self explanatory. That werewolf character would dead, deceased, done, bye bye, forever. Not likely to be popular option for established characters, but still a potential option for disposable ones.

INVITATION
Anybody who's anybody in the supernatural community would receive a cryptic invitation to The Pit. Invitations would come via letter, text, e-mail, call, or even a stranger on the street.
For admission, instead of cash, guests are asked to bring a treasure of sorts, be it a precious gem or stone, coin, jewelry, or something of the like.

Werewolves, for obvious reasons, weren't invited.

NOTES
Ӣ These are goddamn motherfucking werewolf fights! There's no magical spell that makes the fight mundane, so go balls to the wall with this shit! Be as gory and violent and ridiculous as you wish! Have fun and make it badass.
Ӣ Fighters, please be online 15-30 mins before your fight.
Ӣ Fighters, please try to keep posts under 10 minutes and only one paragraph.
Ӣ Due to the nature of the fights, this event is intended for supernaturals only. However, mundane characters with knowledge of the supernatural may attend as well. Feel free to creep OOC.
Ӣ Once the fight is over, wolves are incapacitated and rendered unconscious via silver, wolfsbane, tranquilizers, magic, or some other means. Living fighters are dumped randomly in the woods. Permanent corpses are disposed of accordingly (tbh, they get eaten).
Ӣ Werewolf players, you can either NPC the capture and just pretend like it happened or you can hook up with one of the hunters that sign up and RP it out. Up to you.
Ӣ Captured wolves are held in cold, wet, dark dungeon cells. The cells are approximately 4'x8'x10' and contain nothing save for the prisoner. No toilet, no bed, nothing. The cells are completely caged with silver and magic on all six sides: four walls, ceiling, and floor, though stone has been laid over the floor. Depending on time of capture, werewolves may spend hours or days in these cells. The captives will spend most of this time sedated. Sedation wears off just before it's time to turn. They're given no food and little water. Wolves are released from the kennels only when it's time for the fight, and even then, they're funneled through tunnels and chutes into the pit. Due to the sedation and depending on their memory retention in wolf form, the fighters may remember little about this terrible experience.

PRIZES
Ӣ IC, the wolves don't win anything. They get to keep their life, if they're lucky, and go home with physical, emotional, psychological wounds. Maybe bragging rights. OOC, winners will receive 4 points and losers will receive 2.
Ӣ IC, spectators are encouraged to bet on which mutt they think will win and can earn double their money if they're right. (Odds may be available for fights eventually. For now, we're keeping it simple.) OOC, spectators will receive 1 point each for posting a minimum of 3 rounds.

I'm thinking 2 fights, so if more than 4 wolves sign up then I will roll dice to determine who gets to play. I'll probably roll for back-ups as well, in case people don't show up.

Last day to sign up is Saturday, January 23 at around 4:00pm FST.
Official fighters and times will be announced that night when I get home from work. Probably around 5:00 FST.

SETTING
The entrance to The Pit can be found deep in the bayou. It's merely a tree, a large swamp cypress that is distinctive enough to be recognized by those searching for it, yet mundane in all other respects. There's a portal in the trunk of that tree that, once through it, leads down into a tunnel illuminated by torch-light. From wood, to roots, to earth, to stone, the walls of the tunnel shift as it descends deeper. Underground it's cool and damp, refreshing compared to the Louisiana heat. Armed guards line the walls of the tunnel. Tall, broad, powerful men standing silent, still, and stone faced, ever watching. Apparently human at first glance, but closer inspection would reveal reptilian features; eyes, teeth, tongues, tails, scales. Some appeared more reptilian than others, they all varied. Some resembled gators, some snakes, other lizards, and some turtles. The base of the tunnel opens up into a large cavernous hall lit by torches and braziers. There's a certain medieval feel to the establishment, but it's not without technology and the flames seem to magically provide more light than they should. Here, more reptile-men waited, ready to collect the treasure required for admission. The establishment was crawling with these reptilian minions, all of its staff seemed to consist of them, though they were only one part of the small army of The Pit. From the entrance, the lobby boasts a bar to the left, ready to serve any guest no matter their tastes, and a series of tills and bookmakers to the right, eager to take bets on the night's fights. At the opposite end of that lobby is a great archway that leads into a short downward tunnel before opening up into an impressive circular cavern. At the center is a pit, caged and surrounded on all sides by heavy-duty silver bars coated with wolfsbane and reinforced with potent magic; werewolf-proof. Around the pitted arena are several rings of tiered seating, something of an underground medieval stadium. At the highest level, overlooking the pit and its ring of spectators, sits a throne made of twisted swampwood and bones, the seat of the host and judge for the evening.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
PM or whisper Dudley if you have any questions or want to know more or whatever.

FUTURE
The intent is to run this dog fighting event every month around the full moon. If you guys like it and it grows both OOC and IC, more fight types will emerge beyond 1v1 werewolf vs. werewolf. Different supernaturals may be pulled into the pits for more frequent fights, perhaps twice a month or something. Supernaturals such as, vampires, fae, demons, shifters, etc. There could be werewolf vs. vampire fights, angel vs. demon, vampire vs. vampire, etc. etc. This also opens up the doors for more plots and shit. We'll see where it goes.
