Fight Night at Fisticuffs

Time: 6pm FST every other Thursday
Location: Fisticuffs at the !docks
Moderator(s): Tepes & Cliona (alternate)

Biweekly mini tournaments will be held at the underground fight club in Five Points. These events will be three fights total with the winners of each first round fight squaring off against one another.

First Place - $300 IC/5 points OOC
Second Place - $100 IC/3 points OOC
All other participants - 2 points

Spectators will receive 1 point each if they post the minimum 3 rounds.

Rules:
  • Fights are open to a max of four participants and two round one alternates. Registration is below. If you miss your fight, you will be unable to participate in the following event. You MUST be present at least half an hour before your fight.
  • The cage nullifies any supernatural or magical abilities. Fights are mundane, hand to hand combat.
  • Fights will be moderated by an NV staff member who is familiar with the system. They will track the HP of both fighters, as well as the run time.
  • Posts are to be ten minutes or less, and no more than one paragraph. We suggest the use of a post buffer to keep track!
  • A manual dice system will be in play. Each fighter will roll 1d20 at the start to determine who goes first. The highest roll wins, and they will begin the fight with their intro.
  • After introductions, the high roller will make the first attack attempt. After their post, they would roll 1d10, and the defender would roll the same to contest the fight.
  • When posting, first respond to the attack you were defending before posting your own attack. Everything is an attempt until the dice resolve the action!
  • Each fighter has 10 HP. If a hit is successful, the attacker will roll 1d4 to determine severity. The result is deducted from their total HP. (i.e. Scratcher rolls 1d4 and gets 3 -- His opponent would be reduced to 7 HP.)
  • The roll of the severity die determines the strength of the hit:

1 = Glancing blow, easily shrugged off and dodged. May bruise.
2 = Substantial hit, will cause significant discomfort. Will definitely bruise.
3 = Major hit, will continue to hurt for the duration of the fight. May draw blood.
4 = Critical hit, will continue to hurt beyond the fight. Will bleed, suffer internal bruising, or may cause some kind of fracture (i.e. broken nose). Your character will be knocked off their feet in some capacity. This is a concussive hit.
  • A fight will end when a combatant is reduced to 0 HP, or the fight hits the two hour mark. Hitting 0 HP means your character is knocked unconscious and cannot walk themselves out of the cage. At the end of the time, whomever has the highest HP will be declared the winner. In the event of an HP tie at the end of the fight, the person with a higher average severity will win the fight. If both fighters are still tied, they will roll off.
