Hello, freaky darlings!
Not new to RP, and not new to New Versailles - though my leave was a fairly extended one!
I love stories and I love people - though strangely, slice-of-life RP on the face of it is typically not my bag (characters coming together and responding as-people to unique and odd situations is a trope that brings me life), but if our characters connect and connect well, it becomes one of my favorite things!
I've got an oldie here, as well as a couple of new folks I'd like to test-run, and even some adopts in the works! I'll likely bump this thread often as availability and ideas emerge!

Aaron Fleischer48, on paper; appears a solid decade below this. NVU Professor; Biology. Werewolf (turned). Semi-aware of the supernatural, but welcomes all of it. Flippantly eccentric, austerely approachable.
He's back.
A restless meddler; a mercurial, manipulative mimic. Inquisitive. Fatherly. Choleric. Apathetic. Observant. Possessive. Tactical. Viscerally, joyously nihilistic, but the joy bears an undercurrent of frightened desperation. Less immoral; rather amoral, and yet utterly, entirely affable in spite of it all.
He needs to touch, taste, feel everything, and bears an addictive personality that can be periodically be placated with good music (or at least a good selection of new wave and alternative), good drugs, or good distraction.
A very clever man, but with a very rudimentary soul.
A native Northwesterner, Aaron originally to the South for a visiting lectureship in 2014 (and perhaps due to some more ulterior motives). It came and went relatively well, and he even discreetly found some favorite students out of the deal. (Abellia's got the doctor job!)
He clearly appears to have enjoyed it enough; he's left his original job for a steadier position in the city due to an incident at his home university, one of which startlingly few details are available. But the facts are these:
- He'd been shot in his office.
- Many of his belongings are still reported missing in the wake of that event. Many are rumored to be utterly priceless.
- He'd disappeared for several months, almost completely off the grid, only to return with a letter attesting to a clean bill of psychological health, and the implicit understanding his own university didn't want him back.
- Knows of an onion-service, Fafnir, that deals in the trading and selling of supernatural artifacts. (A good 90% of it's bunk, but it's worth the hunt, he'd insist). He may or may not browse under the name, 'Spuds MacKenzie.'

But there may be wolves among sheep: words can cut and wield venom, inspiration can manipulate, and lore will always have hidden shadows. Del's defenses are high, for reasons known to very few (could your character change that?) and her wishes are long.
Del is a singer and bassist; a bookworm, and Noodlette at The Hummingbird; often-sweet, perceptive, intelligent, ambitious... and punishingly introverted. Del is not new to New Versailles, but is quite new with this whole making-friends-outside-the-pack-as-an-adult kind of a thing.
Shifts and magics are power, and a rush utterly unavailable to her on a normal basis - a rush for which she's a bit of a junkie, and one over which she often overestimates her actual handle or control... More tamely, she tries to replicate this with music and performing - stints at piers, late-night coffeehouse gigs and VFWs aren't quite the same, but it's as close as she comes to mimicking the feeling without...y'know. The witchy wolf thing.

THE FIFOLETA bright light in the swamp said to misdirect or disorient those who try to follow it according to Cajun folklore
The fifolet is an eerie burning light that is seen often in the swamp, gently floating and beckoning all to follow. Some say it is swamp gas. Some say it is a spirit which may or may not be evil. Treasure hunters believe that a fifolet will lead you to treasure. Just hide and watch to see if it hovers over a certain place. Come back in the daylight with a shovel and you may find a treasure. But beware - many have tried to follow the fifolet and few have returned. [1]
This one's Bix, they live in the swamp, and they're a bit of an asshole.

Essentially this will be a first-come, first serve Free Design/Werewolf adopt shop, themed as an adventure party (Bard, Fighter, etc) - but also comes with a few pre-built character connections and potential organization for Future Plots if I ever muster the time for those who are struggling a bit with the odd bar/fight scene and want a little help jumping into the pool. Also, woofs. There are plenty of woofs.
Their collective RPR is pending (intrepid character trawlers can find it if they really WANT) and I will announce properly when these are ready to pick! I just don't want to let this out into the world without at least a bare cache of art, first!
