Important Information About Joining
All of this is stuff you will absolutely need to know before joining.
First of all, don't even THINK about joining until you have read the Rules section. You wouldn't start playing any other game without knowing the rules, and so you shall do the same here.
If you have read the general rules for the dream, you now need to know the rules on character creation:
1). A Human character is just that; A Human. Mutant Humans are those who were born with special abilities, to due a mutation in their DNA. The gene that makes a mutant a mutant is called the 'X-Gene', and ALL mutants have it. While there have been characters who were 'genetic experiments' in the past, this aspect is not recommended, as it is not the focus of Mutants in our continuity. Also, while people enjoy having characters with special powers, we encourage people to play regular Humans alongside the Mutants. There are also exceptions granted for special non-mutant characters such as Mages/Magical Characters who are in essence human but capable of magical powers that normal humans are not. We are also open to 'alien', non-earth born characters, cyborgs and other such beings that have been known to populate the Marvel Universe, though as always, these characters require mod approval to be played here.
2). Mutant characters (those with special abilities, or qualities) are expected to be reasonable in their choice of abilities. Godmode characters will never be accepted, so don't bother. Mutants are also, generally, not born with A LOT of different powers, such as Flying, Super Strength, Invisibility, and Heat Vision, all at once, so try and limit them down. There are also very generic, and unimaginative abilities, like the ability to create and control fire, or some other 'element'. It simply is overdone. If you still want the ability to use, say, fire, try and make it different, and 'new' in some way. Maybe they can't CREATE fire, but control it instead (such as the character Pyro from Marvel comics). I expect everyone to have imaginations, and the willpower to use it.
3). The name of your character should be reasonable. This is modern day, with modern names. It's okay in other places to make up a dramatic-sounding name, but try to be semi-realistic. Something like Nightfall Dragonwing is obviously a made-up name, and is not suitable for this kind of place. Also, your alt for the dream should be your character's name, not something else. It doesn't have to be their full name, first middle and last, first and last is fine. Even, if you have the alt, just a first name. Some also opt to make First name "An Alias" and then Last Name. All those are fine. But your alt should NOT be just their alias, or something else.
4). There are many different canon characters that are available for someone to play, and also characters that you are NOT allowed to play at the current time. If you want to play a Marvel character, you must:
-Make it known to a moderator that you wish to RP the character.
-Check to ensure the character isn't already being RPed.
-Know enough about the character to be able to RP them correctly.
But it is reminded that there are a LOT of Marvel Comics characters you will not be able to play. On top of this, you need a sufficient REASON for the canon character to be present. If we do not think the reason is good enough, you will be denied. We will also not LIST the ones you cannot play, because when you try to sign for a character, we have to take into account a lot of different facts. If you want to play Magneto, The Phoenix, Silver Surfer, et cetera, prepare to be denied, they simply won't work because they're too powerful, or wouldn't be present at the time.
It is also noted that you are NOT allowed to play canon characters from anything else aside from Marvel comics. You cannot play Harry Potter characters, you cannot play DC comics characters, et cetera. Either an Original Character, or a Marvel comics character.
