Bare with me, as this may look a little lengthy, I assure you it is all valuable, and much of it is common sense.

These rules are law, and can result in Ejection, Suspension, or Permanent Banishment from the dream should you choose to disobey. If we think you're breaking our rules, we can, and WILL monitor you, whether you know it or not, or feel it is invasion of your privacy.

Upon entering our dream, you agree to our rules. Please read and know the following:

1. Continuity

Our dream is part of a continuity (The Mutant Exodus continuity). It is not connected to any outside dream, unless specifically noted.

2. Consent

Like most of Furcadia, you will be using this rule. For those who may not know what this means (and to refresh those that do), it means that you cannot simply make an action during the post, without giving the other player(s) the ability to post a reaction first. An example of this would be "Billy Bob swings his fist, and punches Vinnie directly in the jaw, breaking several of Vinnie's teeth, and blood spattered everywhere." As you can see, you just stated what would happen, without giving the other person a chance to defend, duck, etc. Instead, you have to make an ATTEMPT during your post. The other player should decide their character's fate (within IC reason). Not you.

On the other hand, some people abuse the Consent rule. Look, if your character tries to kill someone else's character, you should be ready to accept injury, maiming, or death in return. That's common sense, and respect for the other player.

3. OOC Fighting/Harassment

Fighting/arguing out of character is pretty pointless. I feel that most of the members of the dream are all, in actuality, very agreeable people, and while this may be true, arguements have happened before. I ask respectfully that you take your arguing elsewhere, such as out of the dream, Instant Messengers, etc. Disagreements are understandable, because not everyone will agree with every opinion you have, or decision you make. There may be people in the dream who flat-out hate you, or you hate them, but you are not permitted to start fights here. Not even in Whispers. While you are within this dream, any sort of arguement is under the jurisdiction of the Owners and Moderators, and they will deal with you and the involved parties accordingly.

Fighting can often occur because of IC happenings and characters. Perhaps someone's character hurt yours, physically or emotionally, and you get mad at this. I remind you that it was a CHARACTER. A character, I remind you, is not a real person, and has not performed real actions. A character can be a jerk, racist, or sexist, but that does not mean the player behind it has any of these traits.

Because of the nature of an arguement, some things may get said that shouldn't be said. You are, under no circumstance, allowed to harass any player, be it because of gender, race, religion, or any petty difference you may have with a person. Mind you, harassment doesn't need to be in the context of a fight. If you harass someone, at ANY time, you will be dealt with. If you feel you've been harassed, bring it up with an Owner/Moderator.

4. Para-RP and Posting Etiquette

Para-RP, for those who may not know the term, is short for Paragraph RolePlay. Our definition of those is that a post consists of a MINIMUM of 3 lines. The length of your post may look different, depending on which Font you use, but it's recommended to use 1 of the 3 smaller Fonts. While 3 lines is the minimum, it is strongly suggested that you post more. Our dream has a very strong RP community, and posting the minimum every time makes you look bad. In addition, you are not to use Netspeak during your post. Netspeak is Lol, Lmao, using the number 2 instead of the word 'To', etc. Your roleplay shouldn't look like the text messages you send your friends (unless you always type properly).

Posting etiquette refers to the manner in which you start a roleplay, or enter one. Typically, with more than 2 people, players choose to make a posting order, such as Player A, then B, then C, then repeat. It's the easiest, most convenient, and least confusing, method. If you're trying to join an existing roleplay, you should politely ask in brackets, or in a whisper, so you may be added to the posting order. You are allowed to join almost any roleplay at any time, and shouldn't be excluded if there is no real reason, but you are required to ask in case there might be a reason you can't join. Reasons include that the existing roleplay already has a lot of players, and they do not wish to add more, something is happening ICly that your character simply could not walk in upon, or they do not wish you to walk in upon (such as two characters are on a date in a restaurant, and aren't interested in talking to your character). Another would be that two characters are having a private moment, such as discussing a relationship, telling one another how in love they are, or other such mushy things.

5. IC Fighting

Characters are allowed to fight anywhere in the dream, but you are not to destroy property without an Owner/Moderator's permission. If you knock over a shelf in the store, that's nothing. I'm talking about breaking windows, damaging buildings, trees, etc.

Note that most combat/action RP in this dream is done freeform. However, if any players should reach an impasse regarding their powers or if they simply wish and agree beforehand, they may opt to use dice to determine the outcome of a given series of actions. The standard variation we offer is each player rolls 1d20 and highest roll wins. This provision exists to keep things running smoothly in any ongoing RP events as a means to not be held up by disagreements between players.

6. Yiffing

We are here for quality Roleplay, not yiffing/cybersmut/etc. If you wish to partake in that sort of RP, we ask that you do it in whispers only.

7. Character Age Limits

All played characters must be 16 years of age or older.

8. Know the Owners/Moderators

In case you ever have a question, or need the assistance of one of them, please know who they are, and what alts they use. You can find a list of our current moderation team here.

IC rules are very simple.

The law.

If your character breaks a REAL law, he/she has broken an IC rule. For those who still don't get the picture, you cannot steal, hurt/murder people, et cetera, without facing IC consequences.
