Another late night spent sipping coffee and staring at screens, watching other employees carrying out moderately better social lives. There had already been a false alarm that the rest of the complex remained unaware of, and two warnings from the labs since the shift started, both of which had been contained without requiring any additional assistance. There was also an employee who had so far managed to be walking around for twelve minutes without realizing he'd tucked his suit jacket into his pants after using the toilet. Exciting times for security, there.
A buzzer suddenly rang, and a line around one of the screens started flashing. Despite expecting another false alarm, the buzzer was promptly shut off and the screen inspected.
And... there was a guy there. Right by the building, in a place that should have tripped a couple alarms just to reach.
The guard grabbed the mic. "Units near section D-7 on alert. Unknown person inside perimeter. Uh... guy's right by the wall outside. Possible preternatural organism, but definitely human in appearance. Turning on floodlights."
"Copy," a few voices returned. "Going to investigate."

Archer stepped out of the shadows next to a wall. He looked around trying to figure out where he was. "Hey, where did you guys dump me this time?" he asked to seemingly no one. After a few moments, he let out a sigh. "Really? Going silent again? You guys just really get a kick out of this stuff, don't you?" He looked at the wall again.Well, where there's a wall, there's usually a gate or door. he thought to himself, starting to walk along the wall to find out where he was. But before he could take a step, floodlights turned on and shone on him, causing him to cover his eyes instinctively. He then lowered his arm, looking around again. Or maybe the answer to where I am will come find me... he thought, deciding to stay put and wait.
"He's definitely physically there, and readings look pretty typical of a human. Proceed with caution."
Sure enough, a mix of agents and more typical security guards closed in around the stranger. They all maintained a distance and a few had weapons drawn, but no one fired. One individual who held a pistol, but who kept it pointed down at the ground, called out, "You are trespassing on private property! Identify yourself!"

Archer didn't have to wait long, several people with guns soon closing in around him. He looked over to the individual that called out to him, assuming them to be the leader of the group. "My name is Archer." he called back, pulling his hood back. "I happen to be a little lost. Do you mind telling me where I am?" He then waited for the individual's reply.
"Just keep talking," the man commanded. "How did you get here?"
Archer tilted his head and just looked at the man, letting out a sigh a few moments later. "That's very rude you know, not answering someone's question." he said. And since it's rude, I won't be rude and I'll answer your question. But then you have to answer mine." He looked at the man to make sure he heard before continuing. "I arrived by the shadows." he said simply.
"Again, you are trespassing on private property. You are in no position to be making requests." It was rather clear that no one presently had any interest in what was rude and what was polite. "Explain what you mean about arriving by shadows."
Archer let out another sigh. "You are very rude. I don't like rude people very much, much less talk to them." he said, turning and starting to walk along the wall. "So I'm going to go find out where I am since you won't tell me."
Guns were raised. Safeties were switched off.
"It's rude to trespass, and it's hard to believe you made it this far in without knowing exactly where you are. Keep talking, or we'll have no choice but to start shooting."

Archer stopped and turned his head when the guns were raised and safeties switched off. "Well, at least I know I'm not in Texas." he said, more to himself. He leaned back against the wall and crossed his arms over his chest. "You finally going to tell me where I am?" he asked. "My transportation is playing the silent game with me and wouldn't tell me where I've been dumped."
"Somewhere you shouldn't be," the man said. "That's all you need to know right now. Now keep talking, what is this transportation of yours? How did you get here? In detail."
Someone else tilted his head away and quietly asked of security, "You sure this guy is alone? He's implying otherwise."
"No other significant life signs."
"'Significant' isn't comforting."

Archer let out yet another sigh. "You guys are really laughing your ass' off, aren't you?" he said, looking down at the ground beside him. "Dumping me somewhere I shouldn't be." He then got off the wall and turned his attention to the man. "My transportation is the shadows. Go in one, come out another." he explained, starting to pace back and forth with his arms folded in front of him.
There was a moment of silence as a handful of individuals rushed to work with what little information the stranger had so far provided.
Archer. Appears human. Talks to and travels in shadows. Possibly insane, but still apparently capable.
"Get him inside. Keep the area well-lit until we know what we've got."
Those surrounding the invader shifted to herd him toward a door. "You're coming inside. Cooperate and everything will be fine," the one who kept talking to Archer said. "First, leave any and all weapons on the ground. They will be returned to you later."

Archer stopped pacing when he heard the man say he was going inside. "Of course. Though, you might find taking my weapons difficult." he said, reaching into his robes and pulling out a bow. When he dropped it on the ground, it dispersed into black smoke like dry ice smoke. He then reached into his robes again and pulled out another bow, dropping it and the same thing happened. He did that a few more times just to prove his point. "You have my word that I won't pull out my weapons while inside." he said, bowing slightly. He would then walk to the door they herded him to.
"We get the point," the man said after seeing the the trick with the bow just a couple times. "Be aware then that any move you make, especially if it is in rejection of any instructions we give you, may be considered a threat and may be responded to with lethal action."
Rather than bringing him in through the front door, they brought him in through one of the garages. That way provided easier access to the cells, after all - and that was where they planned to keep him for awhile, until someone was handy to talk more with the stranger. Okay, so maybe they planned to make him wait a bit longer than necessary, but no more than an hour.
The particular room they chose to keep him in was one of many that had been specially designed to contain various creatures. This one was brightly lit with soft lights on all sides - even the floor and ceiling - and all of those lights were protected by some remarkably sturdy and rather expensive glass. They did bring in a table and a couple chairs, at least.

"I understand." Archer replied. "But what kind of guest would I be if I threatened my hosts?" He then remained silent as he was led inside. He assumed they brought him inside through a garage, as it seemed like a terrible front door. He walked into the cell they led him to, looking around and noticing that it was completely lit. He let out a small grunt as he walked to the center of the room, facing the door before sitting down on the floor and crossing his legs. He reached into his robes and pulled out a can with sticks in it and set it on the floor in front of him, then reached back in and grabbed a lighter. After setting the sticks on fire, he put the lighter away and started to meditate.
