Day 1:
The docks of Guildereim were always a buzz with activity, moreso with the mass of Able Bodied Sailors pooling onto the Valdys. The wind was favorable, everything was set for a long voyage to the open blue, The Valdys' new cook, Yaelth had made sure to stock the cargo hold with a plethora of food items, from produce to pickled vegetables, cured, and salted meats, and more potatoes than an Irishman could wave a stick at. Krise was where he always was at the beginning of a voyage, next to the helm. A smoldering stoagie clutched between his lips, was snatched out of his mouth by his paw and pointed with it. "OY! YE FUCKIN INGRATES! SHOW UP TE ME SHIP LATE! DRAGGIN ARSE! I WANTED TE BE TE KASURIA BY NOW!" He grinned, an outside eye gazing in would assuredly think him a harsh captain, but it was more motivational than anything.
Lenora Ravensbrooke had actually made her way on to the ship last night and slept there, this way she wouldn't be late to arriving on the ship. Come the light of day, she had gotten up to make sure the cannons were in order and ready to go when they would be needed. Sabre would make sure her gunning crew was ready and after that battle in the siege, she had been on the look out for a few more to add since they had lost some as well. Those she found that were capable with cannon, she recruited and showe them their stations and quick to test their movements to see how quickly they could load and fire(not literally) and reload a cannon. She had found a few good ones for the task. Ears flicked as she heard Krise yelling and smirked, making her way above deck. "Well I hope ye ain't callin' me late te the party. I've been on ship since last night."
Shenanegans, too had spent the night on the ship, not that she'd actually slept. She'd been up in the crow's nest all night, worrying away at this and that. Hearing the sounds of life start up on the ship, along with Krise's shouting, 'goyle sighed and stood, stretching stiff muscles and wings before giving a flap and slowly descending until she was just behind and to the right of him, gold spade clicking on wood. "Mornin' Cap'n," she murmurs by way of greeting, not caring if he assumed she was late or not. The newly dubbed Quartermaster fell silent after that, letting their Captain take to shouting his orders, sharp crimson eye dancing over the activities of the crew to make sure they were all doing what was needed.
Manuka appeared like a jack rabbit when Krise bellowed, despite his distaste for the lower regions of the ship and being trapped beneath hard wood rather than open sky the primate had braved the hull to double check the ships condition and secure the last of the supplies. Manny had hardly left his beloved lady and as a result she shone like she was fresh built. He clambered the rest of the way onto the deck then swung with his usual agile grace up into the rigging. "You heard Captain, you, you, get in position, be ready to release sails on order." He scaled the central mast with ease before crossing the gap between the towers of wood with the help of a few ropes and sliding closer to Krise. A soft laugh directed at the husky. "Excited are you? Yes." he grinned. "puppy with a new ball," he teased before making sure he was high enough on the mast to avoid a well deserved smack.
Krise Halloway snatched the stoagie back between his teeth, and grinning at the arrival of the Master Gunner, and his newly appointed Quarter Master who seemed to still be hanging on something or other. Gaze shifted to Lenora first. "Oy Lass, was talkin te de boy's 'ere." He pointed to the men now scrambling for the positions. Husky blues shifted towards the Goyle and perked a brow. "Aye, mornin' Quartermaster..." He spoke in an impassive tone. "Ye got dis lass? Ye aint really lookin up to par, Shen." There was a bit of worry in his tone, he cared for all of his crew, including the Goyle, who had been with him the longest out of any of them. He'd let it be at that for now. He had no choice as the ever-chipper Tamarin made his way topside, The Boatswain's presence always welcome and attention soon followed Manny's trek to the Helm. "Oh aye, ye little bastard... Puppy wit a new ball eh?" He chuckled and shook his head. "Shen, Helms yers." He stated before making his way down onto the main deck. Krise bellowed. "Raise dem anchors boys! Get me outta dis dock so I cin spread me wings eh?" He glanced to the tied up sails. "We got bidness te tend te, in Kasuria... Bestin' not te be late!"
Lenora Ravensbrooke chuckled and watched the crew scrambling about like a cat going after a moving beam of light. "Well ya won't find me bein' late." She grinned and looked towards Shen as she made her own appearance, still remembering the first time the pair got 'acquainted'. "Ahoy dere Shen!" she greeted the goyle, then when Manny made his own appearance, she grinned and gave a wave to him. As Krise made his way towards the deck and spoke, she clapped her hands together once and rubbed them together. "Some fun in Kasuria? Oh aye, lets get on our way!" she moved towards the hatch and roared down. "Finish up with those cannons and then get yer asses up 'ere an' help! Ye lazy lay abouts!" she then moved to help as well.
Shenanegans flicked a glance to him as he greeted her and expressed concern. Tight smile was given, along with a small nod. "M'fine Cap'n, t'ank ye," she murmurs, saluting him and turning to man the helm as he went down to the main deck. She smiled faintly at Lenora as well, nodding to the saber. They'd been rather well acquainted and she liked the woman, especially after seeing her handle herself during that final battle. "Aye, mornin' Lass," she greets, looking up at Manny as he arrived. "An' mornin' te ye as well," she says, not really knowing the boatswain very well but still trusting him since the captain did so. Once anchors were secured and sails unfurled, the 'goyle began sailing the ship out of port and onward to Kasuria.
Manuka accused the husky of child like excitment at the prospect of ocean freedom but the truth was he was almost as bad. He barley had time to return greetings from fllow crewmates. Staying in one spot for more than few seconds proved challange that was beyond him as he moved through the rigging checking and double checking the sails untill they moved clear of the docks and with a words the stationed crew members released the ties and let the sails unfurl before securing them in place, tight and ready to catch the welcoming wind that took them out onto the open blue. Letting out a primate squeak of delight (that was still totally masculine and manly) He almostflew up into the crows nest to watch the land fade into nothing at their back.
Krise Halloway made his way towards the bow of the ship. Staring out over the Tether's dock as the lurking hulk of wood, metal and 240 plus souls, slowly inched away and closer to open water. The sails unfurled, and almost instantly filled with a healthy gust of wind. As the Valdys pushed forward, Krise jumped back, running up the main deck. "Shen! Point dis tub, East by south east! By 'morrow's mornin' light, we'll be roundin de cape o' Kasuria, 'n in great stride te be meetin' our first target. Eyes spanned over them all. "Be ready fer a fight lass's and blokes! Got word dat Royal bin beefin' up de security o' thar ships." He grinned. "Guessin' we'll jest be testin 'ow strong dem be now." He added tossing the stoagie over board. And hopping his way back up to the Helm. Leaning in towards his First Mate. "I'll be needin' te exchange werds wit'cha later on, few t'ings dat be needin te be run by ye." He glanced up towards the sails. "Oy! Manny! Ye sure dis gal ready fer a fight?"
Lenora Ravensbrooke moved about to help the crew where she could. Master Gunner she was, but that didn't mean she'd be slacking in helping the crew elsewhere. As she moved about, her voice soon enough lifted in song. "Santy Anno gained the day! Away Santy Anno! Santy Anno gained the day all on the plains of Mexico!" She sang out and let her voice flow around the ship as she moved about in song. Soon enough, her wings lifted her up above the bow of the ship where she'd perch and continue to sing the song as the Tether began to shrink out of sight. Yes, she was ready to be out to sea and do some real work. She was getting restless on the island and now she'd be getting the sea back in her.
Shenanegans looks over at Krise as he shouts the course he wanted her to take, saluting him and doing so. "Aye Cap'n!" she shouts back, smoothly maneuvering the frigate out to the open sea. She looks up at the captain as he returns to the helm and murmurs to her. "Aye Cap'n," she replies, nodding and turning her attention to sailing the ship while the others did what was needed to be done. Wings flexed and tucked against her back, 'goyle flicked her gold spaded tail and focused on sailing them safely to their target since she was responsible for their lives. No crew member would die while she was at the helm, not if she could help it.
And that Coves, and Morts... Was just the first day.
