  • About The Resource Index

    This is a page that describes the things people use in the world of anoh, from magic herbs, to fantastical creatures, to the nearest weapon trade center, and where to find dens and strongholds. It will tell you recipes for potions (these recipes are to reference within role plays.) and how to make your own weapons.
  • POTIONS

    There are a few different potions. Like magic, it can take years to create a new type of potion, or if you're lucky, it can be caused by a mistake. This is the list of the potions that exist in Anoh:
    [*] Buffer Potion
    [*] Moondust Potion
    [*] Dragon's Breath
    [*] Somnolence Potion
    [*] Coma Potion

    Look below for recepes and facts.
  • Buffer Potion

    This helpful potion can be used in instances where food is scarce. The Buffer Potion keeps you alive, but it does NOT fill your hunger or quench your thirst. It is a deep red color, similar to blood.
    [*] Side effects include;
    Drowsiness, stomach aches, sore skin, dry mouth, and growing pains, even though you probably arnt growing.

    [*] Recipe and where to find the supplies;
    A whole flickerwhick root- In moist, dark places, and a flickerwhick looks like a green tentacle with deep red spines.

    A splinter of bark from an Everwood tree- Usually in forests, the tree looks like a small pine with a blue speckled trunk, they smell of peppermint.

    A jar of honey- found in bee nests.

    Note that the flickerwhicks are very hard to harvest.
  • Moondust Potion

    The rare Moondust potion is like a love potion. It makes someone love you in any way, and can only be consumed at night, or nothing will happen. It only lasts for one to two days, depending on when the person takes it. Make sure that the person is alone with you before you give it to them. For twice the romance, you make two batches. One for you, and the other for them. It is a crystal blue color with a cloudy turquoise appearance.
    [*] Side effects include; uncontrollable love.

    [*]Recipe and where to find the the supplies;
    Two crushed lightning bugs- near lakes or open areas. This gives it it's cloudy turquoise appearance.

    A strand of your hair- your head, silly! I don't need to tell you where to find that. If I do, you're probably bald.

    Two jars of sweetwater- found in the Sweetwater Territory, or a Sweetwater spring. This gives it it's blue color.

    *STIR FOR EXACTLY TWENTY STROKES OR THE POTION WILL BE LESS EFFECTIVE*

    And enjoy ;)
  • Dragon's Breath

    This is a potion that can kill you if you make it wrong, then use it. There are ways to tell if you have made it correctly, or if it is not made correctly. If you made it correctly, then it should look like a mixture of royal purple and sapphire blue colors. If made wrong, to a non trained eye it would look correct. But to a trained eye, like a Mage or an Archer's (Who uses potions to coat the tips of their arrows)etc. it will look slightly darker. If you are untrained, smell it. If it smells like fresh lilac, it is correctly made. If it smells spicy or sour, you did not mix it correctly. IT WILL KILL YOU IF IT IS NOT MADE CORRECTLY. This potion is primarily used for fire resistance in battle, to defend against the Mage spells and the trained hell-hounds. NOTE THAT IT DOESN'T WORK 100% OF THE TIME!
    [*] Side effects include; A slim chance of dissiness, a slim chance of a burning sensation in the throat. Do not take the potion if you have an illness. Wait a day after the illness has gone to use.

    [*] Recipe and where to find the supplies;
    One FULL SIZED pot of boiling sweetwater- heat it yourself over a fire.

    One ball of Dragon feces, boiled- Near the bases of mountains, it does not matter which dragon produced the feces.

    Six full grown fire orchids, stem and all, Boil the petals with the feces, and crush the stem into a fine powder. Add the powder at the end of the process- normally around the bases of lilac or willow trees, they are full grown when they are white with specks of rich orange.

    Three middle sized Tuna or Trout, boiled alive along with the dragon feces and fire orchids- found in cold streams or bays.

    BOIL OVER NIGHT UNTIL THE SUN IS HIGHEST THE NEXT DAY, THEN ADD THE ORCHID STEM POWDER.

    This potion is difficult to brew. If not done exactly, the potion will kill you if you drink it. It is recommended that you have a skilled potion maker do it for you.
  • Coma Potion

    This is also a VERY helpful potion. The Coma Potion is used to heal major wounds, such as broken limbs, large deadly gashes etc. It will not cure minor injuries that can heal easily on their own. But it will still put the person to sleep. It is also good for faking a death.
    [*] Side effects include; Deep sleep until wounds have healed by the potion essence, do not fear, for the potion will make the person have the appearence of a corpse that is freshly dead, but they are still alive. They will not appear to be brething.

    [*]Recipe and where to find the supplies;
    A LARGE pot of shade cinder- this is found in the dens of shades. Shades are harmless, if they run at you they will NOT hurt you at all. Don't be afraid.
    This will put the person to sleep. Shade cinders are white as snow.

    A dozen heads of dandelion weeds, ground into paste and added slowly- anywhere weeds may be.

    A whole jar of goat milk- pay a farmer, or milk your own goat.

    Stir until it is a pale yellow paste. Spoonfeed the mixture to the injured person until they become drowsy, and fall asleep. It may not take the whole batch, so save the rest in a tightly sealed sack.

    if you are faking a death of any kind, eat the paste yourself. make sure someone is with the person who is faking the death to clean up the evidence.
