Aavos: Lore and Story(So far)
The last great empire has fallen, fragmenting into many warring factions desperate to get a hold of ancient technology and power sources. Eventually a planet is found that is not only rich in the energy resource Aavos crystals, but it is frighteningly rich in the stuff. Aavos is highly toxic when not processed and this is a world that has evolved bathed in the volatile radiation. Now corporations, and factions are trying to get a foot hold as treasure hunters, scientists and adventure seekers descend on the place. And Planet Aavos is ready to devour the lot of them.
In the far reaches of space, there is a planet that contains a rare and dangerous resource that several factions fight over its control; Aavos Energy. Several colonies from different regions of the universe find themselves bargaining for possession for this energy. Every colony counts with a number of special people who explore the many "Frontiers" of planets in search for more sourcing sites, but find their way of life threatened by what the call the 'Outcast', a ruthless specie of natives of the planet. Psychotic creatures that have plight their lives to the due to the Aavos Energy.
Types of Aavos energy and how to collect it:
Depending on the source, the method of collection may differ.
[*]Aavos Crystals
This is where you are bound to find Aavos Miners. These crystals hold several orbs of Aavos inside of them, but they must be processed before the actual energy is released from them.
[*]Aavos Magma
A very heavy liquid whose structure is slightly solid, it possess plenty of Aavos orbs inside of them that need to be processed before using. Direct exposure to them is not recommendable.
[*]Aavos Wells
The purest aspect of Aavos. There are settlements where these exist -- coming directly from below ground level. Their origins are a mister, but they pack a lot of Orbs and cells -- enough to require a team to guard it for weeks. Considering how likely these are to be attacked, given it's value.

Learn about Aavos!
Aavos: Various settings
Origin
Wave-Fence defense system
Quote:The high-frequency sonar fence was a continuous stream of high-intensity sound waves generated by a series of evenly-spaced pylons surrounding the Barracks. It was built by the DHARMA Initiative. The range of the waves reached only as high as the top of the pylons, which are protected by small turrets at the top that keep most of the bandits away. (Though it wouldn't be able to hold off a full-on attack) With the potential to render someone walking through the fence unconscious, or even killing them, the waves could cause severe cerebral haemorrhaging to most humans and species who passes through them.Quote:The Home Base is a unique base that has been able to hold off many of the attacks from the outcasts, and ultimately becoming one of the few secure zones to transit the Aavos energy out of the planet. Here, people socialize and make arrangements before leaving to the wilderness.
Inside of 'The Home Base':
Generator's room:
By converting the Aavos energy into pure energy, it is possible to do almost anything with it. In this room, stone is melted into magma in order to create many and various materials for The Home Base to operate.
Elevators:
These simple, but very useful machines allows easy access to various portions of the base. Floors are as following:
-1 Generator Room
0 Lobby and access to main/front gates.
1 Restaurant
2 Bar
3 Various Stores & Residency area
4 Observation dock/Landing area
5 Restrained access. Control room.
Hallways:
It is easy to get lost among the various hallways The Home Base has. It is not big, but it is not clearly signalized either. Get a wrong turn and you will find yourself walking in circles, and likely meeting other lost folks too!
Lobby/Main Gates
This is the place where scouting teams gather before going into the wilderness. It is spacious and has plenty of chairs for everyone to sit. Also, sometimes, unofficial business go around this place.
Close up to Lobby
Restaurant Area
This is where deals are closed and stomachs are fulfilled. Plenty of food variety in the menu to choose from.
Bar Area
A large bar tab and plenty of drinks for people. A good place to eavesdrop for jobs or information -- as well as your typical drink.
Stores
Typical Store model consists of a cashier, a clerk, and various items. There is usually a shop for everyone to browse from, and bargains are most welcomed.
Residencies:
Already included when first entering The Home Base, unless your visit is temporal, in which case you wouldn't need such thing.
The fist one obtained consists of a simple bed with various dowers. There are plenty of these rooms, given the size it requires (real measures are WIP)
P.D. Rooms can be upgraded, but it would require an investment of Aavos.
Pod-Launcher
This machine launches pods to designated coordinates, mostly used for quick-transportation. It has a liquid inside the pod that protects the user from damage upon impact, which destroys the pod (given the cheap material it is made of). This is, however, a one-way trip. (COST -- TWO CELLS PER POD)
Codex Entry -002: Aavos CanalsQuote:Aavos energies exist everywhere in this planet, from the smallest pebble to the tallest tree. In order to process this energy, a sophisticated machinery has to be implanted over the source, which converts the raw Aavos into disposable energy. These materials are quite scarce now, which means that protecting this hardware is a top priority for may factions. Getting too close to one is considered an offence which might result in an unwanted confrontation.
Codex Entry -- 003Quote:Green plants, pure waterfalls and a great variety of flora and fauna. Aside from the constant fight and struggle for survival, This planet, known as Aavos for it's energy source, is quite a peaceful place, away from the ever-changing hand of various societies and civilizations. Some have tried to live out in the wilderness. However, not many of them take too long to return after having lost it all in a 'scab' raid. While other are never seen again.
Codex Entry -- 004Quote:Aavos energy visible such as this tents to be very weak, compared to the one lying underneath the ground. But this source of energy tends to be enough for the creatures and local fauna to nourish from. Studies have demonstrated that these sort of Aavos energy is not as dangerous to tact as a purer form other locations in the planet. The texture of this Aavos is almost compared to the feeling of mildew. Small portion of orbs can be absorbed from these, but not quite much. Plants seems to be filled with Anvos energy, however. Everything in this planet seems to posses a portion of it.
Codex Entry -- 005Quote:Sometimes, unpredictable events called 'Aavos storms' happen within this region of the planet. Those who are caught in it, sometimes suffer from an excess of Aavos energy in their biological system. The direct exposure to Aavos is dangerous, and when inside one of these storms, the Aavos energy becomes relatively strong as lightning, frying the inside of those struck directly. It is crucial to find refugee when inside a Aavos Storm.
Signs of an approaching storm is a sudden increase in wind speed and unexpected static problems
Codex Entry -- 006Quote:These bees are fairly similar to the ones reported in planet earth. But they harvest Aavos, and their stings causes the stung body to be forced to harness their eggs -- but after that, the swelling disappears, however, the process is quite painful
Codex Entry -- 007Quote:Quick, silent and effective means of transportation, but their life expectancy is very short compared to that of a machine. However, in this world, is the best mean to move from one place to another, specially for scouting purposes.
Codex Entry -- 008Quote:One of the many creatures that exist in this planet. the most recognizable feature of this creature It's it long, sharp and apparently metal object arising from the creature's forehead.
Codex Entry -- 009Quote:An ancient found by the explorer “Mikou Koto”, which consists of a various bridges that connect to different rooms. Though details are scarce about the whole place, the information received shows that in this room there is a powerful source of AAvos emerging from the center of the ground. Given Mikou’s experiences in this place, it is considered to be very dangerous.
Codex Entry -- 010Quote:During a terrible accident at the home base, Leinad, Hoyt, Tor and Star encountered this strange creature as they were providing aid to the young, thief girl known as Jesbear. This creature can be described by it's gooey looking aspect. It is recommended to avoid direct contact with this Goo at all costs.

Ignis Terra

Quote:"An organization under The Dominion's command who patrol the land, scouting for source locations and scabs on the planet. They are among the most trusted of the Dominion's guard, and their authority is paramount."
Skill:Quote:The Titan: Rhea's battle ship is the definition of armed and dangerous. It can be used for Artillery support and many types of supply drops that go from weapons to small, self-assembling structures (such as small turrets or outposts)
Scavengers
[heading]Codex: Scavengers [/heading]
Quote:There is little to none known about these creatures. There seems to be signs that the Aavos energies live inside their body structure. They are known as the natives of this planet, but also, as 'Scabs' given their distinguished look. It has been noted that they have incredible strength and endurance, but little ability to reason or signs of emotions. Their most characterizable feature is their psychotic urge to kill and destroy anyone and anything that threatens the Aavos energy. They could be found gathering around some of the largest energy settlements, simply contemplating the energy.

Infantry -- TroopersQuote:During the scab raid at the Amazon's citadel, these creatures showed no sights of remorse when it came to kill, or be killed for what they believe in.
Rinoceronte AlphaQuote:During the scab raid at the Amazon's citadel, the Amazons and a group of outsiders were threatened by this enormous creature. Even though they did not killed it, the creature was forced to retreat.
Amazons
[heading]Codex: Amazons[/heading]
Quote:The Lumdaria, known to the outside world as Amazons. Guardians of the unique 'Purple Aavos' which is highly dangerous to males, it has the power that changes them. Any male in the citadel for more then a day will find themselves beginning to change to woman. This is due to the unique properties of the purple aavos.
The Citadel and the Purple AavosFew amazons have ever been seen away fromt the Citadel, and most have only seen them as either tall, strong women, or even taller, powerful predator anthros. They typically use melee weapons and rarely any ranged. Due to the strong engery of their Aavos laden lands, higher tech is useless, so they are inexperienced with most devices used by the dominion.
Purple Aavos is different in wave length from Aavos. Though it can be used in just about every way the same as Blue Aavos, it does effect creatures, especially humanoid, that are male. It's a slow process, though not painful... usually. Being in the Citadel causes the effect to take days, hours in main building, and even minutes in the throne room. As for crystals found that have a purple glow; their effect is slower, far far slower. A small gem will maybe screw up one's hormone chemistry a little, but the larger the gem and the longer it's in direct contact with a male, the faster and more compete the change. This is one of the reasons for the agreement struck between the Amazons and Rhea representing the dominion.
It is unknown at this time if there is more effect to the Amazon's aavos then this.
Lumdaria call Aavos 'Lum', sometimes causing confusion with outsiders as to what they are refering to when talking.
Skill:Quote:Specie-Shift After discovering their inner spiritual, feral guide; Amazons are able to convert into a anthro version of these creatures, granting them an edge in senses and feral attributes such as dexterity and strength
The Engineers
[heading]Codex: *The Engineers*[/heading]
Quote:Gear heads by nature, The Engineers have mastered the ways of steam and clockwork. Extremely curious wanting to learn how everything works, they now look towards understanding Aavos energy. Being dormant for nearly a century they have yet to learn about the new comers upon the planet
Skill:Quote:
Rouges: Reconnaissance battle mechs, only two of its kind At the moment they run off a Aavos Reactor. Extremely agile, well armored and to top it off a 25mm rifle, with a few extra goodies but that’s classified. They are personally attached to its pilot and no mech is the same. Mainly used for defense they tend to stay within the confines of Startseite gefroren (literally meaning frozen home) only coming out in times of mech to mech warfare or if its pilot is on a high risk mission.

The Mineralis Aedificantes
[heading]The Mineralis Aedificantes [/heading]
Quote:~The Mineralis Aedificantes; a faction ready to assist those who require aid, and welcome anyone who wishes to join their ranks. Although pacifists by nature, members of the MA will not hesitate to defend themselves against those who threaten their ideals or the dangers of Aavos. Forgoing preaching in favour of humanitarianism, the Minerali Aedificantes are generally appraised in The Home Base. Wherever they go, the MA seeks to provide services to those in need, namely medical care and technological instructions and assistance
BackgroundWhen the first settlers arrived on Aavos, they found themselves short on two things; Medics and Engineers. A wide range of people were contacted to come to Aavos in order to build the fist base in side the secrured perimiter, thus The Home Base was built. They also created the Base's defence system. Given their hard and incredible well done job, their reputation spread, gaining fame for being the most creative and industrious repairers in the galaxy. The doctors that came also gained recognition for their skills in immediate care, saving the lives of many you first encounters the natives known as Scavengers.
Skill:Quote:Experimental nanites and remote-controlled technology: Experimental nanites and remote-controlled technology
Due to their very innovative brains, members of the MA have developed a very experimental set of tech to improve exploration and reduce risks when exploring Aavos. These gadgets can go from several small remote controlled vehicles to experimental nanites to enhance the healing factor of simple bandages or medics. Hover, due to the risks involved with this tech, it is unlikely anyone but the MA posses these.
Technologically Advanced (Simply put).
