Malice sat in the passenger's seat of a ship, a lizardlike man at the controls. It had been several days since they'd departed port, and Aavos was now finally in sight. The tigress had paid good money to get a ride to the planet, money she'd soon earn back after harvesting the peculiar resource harbored on it.

She nodded to the pilot and got out of her seat, starting to pack her things; money, much of which she'd gained from poker, her blade, buckler, and pistol, exosuits, other clothes, and paraphernalia. Her flight would be landing soon.

The accommodations she'd bought seemed quite nice, granted the circumstances. This "homebase", while having many people, would be a decent spot to start off her adventure. Her main goal was the resource, and she planned on getting it however she could. She was more than prepared to rob a few residents of the stuff if needed.

Hours later, the ship lowered itself into the atmosphere, landing at Aavos' main port. Malice threw her bags over her shoulder and stepped out of the ship. She gave the lizards a heavy tip, granted she'd eaten much more than everyone else on board.

Stepping onto the platform, she let out a breath. "Here we go."
Aavos is known to be a brutal place...
...Where hunter and hunted...
...Can change in a heart beat.

Malice would find evidence of this as soon as she got off the ship, and hand a chance to witness the vast, unclaimed nature of AAvos. This is why most people come to reside at the Home Base, to simply just get away from civilization. . . and to enjoy of this privileged city, and make it off as pioneers. Everyone is welcome to come here and try to make a living...

But the principles of survival still applied in here. IF you were in trouble, and outside of the Base, the only person who could save you, is yourself.

As soon as Malice approached the entrance of the base, she encountered her first problem:
jaime-jones_checkpoint.jpg

These guys were not letting anybody in.

"THE BASE IS NOT ALLOWING ANY MORE CITIZENS UNTIL THE MARTIAL LAW IS CLEARED" Spoke one of the soldiers, loudly.

There were a group of nobles plotting not to far from the fence...
"My cousin is inside the city. Maybe if we could convince one of these barbarians, we could make it through..."

And there were those who were ready to just fight their way inside.
"LET US IN! WE PAID GOOD-COIN TO GET'ERE"

Malice was unlikely to make in on her own. Maybe...she could take advantage of one of these two groups...
The tigress scowled at the guards, looking over their weaponry and determine it was unwise to fight her way through -- at least alone. She stepped to the far side of the crowd, waving her hand to get their attention. "Hey, I've already paid! You can check with the place!" She glanced around, grabbing a man by the shoulder. "What's this martial law business? Why can't we get in?"
The guards seemed to be completely oblivious of Malice's words, or anyone's for that matter. The base was shut, and they were not letting anyone through. Or where they...?

"Bah, some nobles decided to hire a bunch of mercenaries and are trying to take over the Base..." Said the man speaking to Malice, to whom another creature, a blue-alien with a very fancy set of clothing "This is the Security's fault! The organization is meant to protect us, not to limit and reign over us with of the weapons we bought!" The human male shake his head and responded "They EXPLODED a bloody store at the market district! People died, you know! And many more were harmed!"
The Blue alien chuckled and shake his head "Just another proof that this so-called security is useless, and needs to be dissolved."

Seems like everybody here had their own opinion about the subject. The question was, how would Malice get in. . . . Security was too tight to sneak in and too armed to face them alone. . . .

The options were limitless, but the obvious ones were to either speak to the nobles at the distance, of be the spark that would make all these people force their way into The Home Base. . .
Malice sighed, rubbing her brow. Five minutes on this planet, and already she was encountering problems. Her first response was to look over the crowd to see how many people had weapons on them. Even if they did, the soldiers were heavily armed as well, and they would surely call backup if they needed it. No, it was best to find another option.

So she went to the nobles, looking them over. Maybe they could use a boyguard. "What's your take on this, gents?"
Malice did not lasted three seconds before being bombarded with judging looks from the noblemen and women. Seconds later, a large figure made its way in between the tigress and the nobles.

"Easy there, big fellow! You'll have to excuse him..or it-- this dumb thing cannot tell the difference between a savage and a lovely specimen such as yourself" spoke an elegant canine, to which his partner answered by just exclaiming his name "Roberto Joas! You will have to excuse him--" with a light pat on his chest with her shoulder, her canine companion spoke "We came to this planet to enjoy of the great... Safari opportunities. Trying to beat our late-cousins to find the most exotic creature and--"
"--Shot it!" exclaimed the other canine loudly

His companion then continued "...However, it seems there is an strike form the workforce going on... these security lads think they are in control of the base! IF it was not for our funding, there would be no base to claim in the first place."

"Do not worry, dear! I assure you the situation will be under control... even if it means they ought to... make the whole security force...redundant.."

"Roberto!" She scowled...

Seems that Malice could have an idea of what these noblemen were like. And she could assumed that the over-excited bunch were like... the question remained.. how would she get into Aavos? Could she ask for a favour.. or fight her way in?
Malice took a step back from the large figure, eyes dilating slightly. At hearing the canine's conversation, she replied, "Ah, on a little adventure? I came here for riches and exotic food." At saying this, she glanced over at a rabbit morph, licking her chops. She was hoping she'd get lunch soon.

"I see that you all are having trouble getting in -- maybe I could offer my services in exchange for a way through? If that isn't enough, I do have money..." She drew a plastic card from her wallet. The nobles probably didn't need it, but it was something worth considering.
The nobles stared into Malice's eyes for a while. Their pupils seem to be doing much more than just looking, they moved softly over her, examining...evaluating-- making her feel almost naked by a mere glance. These people just seemed to be glowing with confidence. Seconds later, the female canine spoke:

"A plastic card? Do we look like a credit bank?" She giggled and placed her hand over Malice's keep your money, mercenary. we don't need that. What we need is someone willing to sabotage this little checkpoint by creating a diversion. You see, there is a small, dirty ventilation conduct not too far form here. I asked Roberto to go in, but he is too afraid his fur might catch the stench..."

The elegant canine quickly reached for Malice's shoulders and turned her around. She then leaned forth and whispering into Malice's ears "The vent is right below the platform. Just grab onto the edge, jump in...and try to find a way to distract these security guys." The lady then placed something in Malice's pocket. "Just find a large room, with loads of echo.. and drop this steambomb in it." The lady smiled and patted Malices back (more like pushing her) in the direction of the vent.

If the tigress were to check this device, she would notice it was rather heavy.

(Roll for perception=3)
Which means this was definitively not steam, but explosives. . !

[Okay, Malice. What you need to do now is roll 1 dice with 4 sides. And if you get number 3-- it means you have access to that bit of information. Otherwise -- you will just have to believe it is a steam bomb :D]
The tigress held their gaze, only slightly uneased. Nobles... She was then relieved to see she didn't need to pay anything. Instead, a mission. That was something she could do.

She listened attentively to the canine's instructions, ears lowering at the mention of a "dirty" vent. She took great pride in her lovely coat, but knew she could take as many showers as necessary once she was at her apartment... Home, she thought.

"Good then. I'll distract them, but what will you be doing?" She was cautious of them now, as she was with most. Too many deals gone bad.

Once handed the object, she examined it, flicking her snakelike tongue absently.

(Will do! When you say under the platform, do you mean on the tracks and to the side? A bit confused, as I drive everywhere, lol.)

((So you get an idea, let's say we're in a platform similar to this one:
http://img2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20130324062628/starwars/images/d/d7/Vader_leaving_Cloud_City.png

You and the nobles are where the ship is, and the security is blocking the entrance... you'll climb down from the opposite side of the door, and make your way through a vent from underneath this bridge and into the base!))

The nobles smiled softly before the female responded "Good! Thank you." Seconds later, the male one spoke up "We will stay here and wait until you do your part. We will then help spread the uncertanty of the situation-- allow the security and these low class citizens to fight as we make our way inside." As confident as they sound of their plan, their strange smile showed as if they had tought of this for hours. . . but why not do it themselves?

(Perception 1d4 -- need a 2 to hear this:)"There goes my sacrificial lamb, the bestofthe flock." said the male canine in a mocking chuckle.

It is time for Malice to do her part. Once she climbed down and headed into the vent, she would notice this place was rather clear..almost shiny. This place certainly looks anew. There was a very large corridor, a bit stretch though. Malice could easily crawl her way through most of it... there were several, smaller conducts on every side (too small for a person to fit in, but that granade surely would make it through) Now Malice had to decide which one to put int into... they all seemed like they would lead to room where it would make enough noise to attract the security, but not to damage the structure and putting Malice in any immediate danger.

(Ah, okay then. -3-)

Malice's eyes narrowed ever so slightly as she listened. She was already doubtful of their sincerity, as she'd observed their oddly optimistic behavior, but relented. A means to an end, they were, just as she was to them. She tossed the device gently in her hand, nodding. "All right then. I'll be off. See you on the other side." She knew she would in some way or another.

Getting in was quite easy, she was surprised to see. The corridor was big enough for her to crawl in, amazingly, and devoid of any grime. Of course... The nobles were lying about the dirt. Didn't want to get caught with a bomb, they did...

Upon seeing the conducts, she began fiddling with the device. She was familiar with bombs of many types, but this one she didn't recognize. Maybe if she pushed this...? That seemed to get it working. She quickly popped the thing into one of the slots, crawling away and putting her paws over her sensitive ears.

(Bombs away! >:3 Sorry it took so long. Didn't realize you'd edited your post and my browser spazzed.)

The nobles remained on the upper part of the platform as Malice sneaked an explosive right underneath. Come to think of it, this was probably not the most practical idea, but nobles sure liked fireworks. Seconds later, a loud explosion was heard, one that Malice's paws were not able to protect her from it--

As for the upper platform, the nobles smiled widely as they saw a loud fire coming from one of the air conducts "Ah! lovely!" said the female canine as they both held onto their hats. The rest of the mob took the opportunity to make a run into for the fence. Soon, the soldiers were overwhelmed and the turrets started shooting everyone in sight.

...it was a mess
...A bloody one.

Dead bodies piling up every time the turret fired -- all these men died like insects; their lives were worthless in here, just like Malice's. She had to make her way in now or never! That is-- if the shock allowed her to do so. Seemed as if the nobles were nowhere to be found! could she guess how they make it through? Remember what they said, before sending her to start all this? Time was ticking, and each second was a bullet closer to her head!

((So! Now you get to build you post based on the rolls I do, + your own rolls. Which means, if I roll a 60% and you roll a 70%, it means Malice will be a 10% confident, or have a 10% of courage. I hope that's not too confusing :3?))

(That was frustrating. "-^-)

Malice's head rang loudly, the acoustics of the vent and her sensitive ears not helping. At this point, she was nearly deaf, and wouldn't be able to hear well for a long time unless she got medical attention -- she worried her small fortune wouldn't sustain her long on the blasted planet.

Moving as quick as she could, the tiger scrambled out of the vent and back onto the platform, looking around cautiously. The scene before her... She worried the bomb had hurt all of these people, that maybe the nobles were terrorists. Then she took a closer look at the bodies; they were riddled with bullet holes. It was the guards doing all the damage. She merely gave the riot a push.

The tiger growled fiercely, angered by this display, and started looking for the nobles, ducking behind a building to avoid enemy fire. They couldn't have gotten that far.

She drew her pistol and checked the magazine, making sure it was fully loaded. It was a Desert Eagle .50 AE, a fat handgun with a seven round capacity. It was bulky and had plenty of recoil, but the huge rounds it fired would put holes through just about anything. If worst came to worst, she'd fire at the security force.

While she was looking for the nobles, she also glanced around to see if others were shooting at security.

Unfortunately, the nobles had long made it into the base. If Malice wanted her vendetta for being the 'sole' responsible of this she'd have to make it inside the base first. But the gap between the turret being distracted by the other mercenaries and less fortunate folks was closing rapidly as the bodies fell on the ground. Soon, the security would be looking for prisoners. If she wanted to take advantage of that explosion she had to move now
--wait

Someone rushed right in front of Malice before she could really grab her bearings, a grey wolf who seemed to eager enough to risk his butt, literally, to make it to the base as his colleges were dodging bullets. His luck didn't last too long though. He collapsed close to Malice's cover, but the security was focused on him now. Maybe this was the best and only chance she'd had to make it into the base, at the expense of the grey wolf. . .

Soldiers were approaching his location, and so approaching Malice's as well. . .
Malice looked down at the grey wolf, cursing, though she herself couldn't hear it. Knowing she would be next if she didn't hurry, the tigress leapt from behind her cover and charged forward, her strong legs giving her a slight speed advantage. She still had her pistol drawn, though she wouldn't fire it -- if possible, she'd try and draw as little attention as she could.

(Apologies for the shorter reply. I considered saving the wolf, but I figured that would be overly ambitious. ;^; Forgive me, wulfmon.)
((I need to work on my post-rate times D:))

Due to the feline's opportunist reaction, she managed to pass by the security without having to dodge too many shots.

There is a story that remains untold though -- of how the wolf that had been shot was executed in that very place. His body would be disposed of the the base like all the others that died in the platform; tossed down to the unclaimed territory of this planet, letting their skin and bones to rot and be cosumed by Aavos.
Whether Malice felt responsible or not for that death, one thing is certain... she is now inside of The Home Base.
01_Gd_corridor_weapon_concept_small.jpg

The place was a wreck. Nothing like in the flyers and posters at the shuttle station. Seems like the 'civil war' had left its marks in almost every wall of this place, yet there were still people walking around as if nothing were happening... noble men seemed to hand around the upper floors while the rest of the mercenaries congregated at the bottom area. Where would Malice decide to go now might be more than just a place; she needed to decide her destination.

((Now you may decide to head into the common rooms at the Home Base in order o allow other RPers to drop in~ Or you can post in here again, and we wil lcontinue to focus on 1on1 ^^))
(You're fine! I'm sure with so many threads to DM you're busy. :3 Besides, the quality of your posts totally makes up for it! I'll be heading to the med bay; get some help for the poor girl's ears.)

The tigress stumbled off down the hall, sheathing her weapon, looking for somebody that could help her out. Doctors? Guards? Somebody, surely... Or else she'd have to continue her journeys on Aavos near deaf.
Malice was now inside the base, and every second she spent there she could see men and women striving to make some 'luck'. This was definitively a place for opportunity; from those who had the brain and lacked the muscle as well as those who had he connections but not information to exploit them. All of them shared one common thought though, to make it off of Aavos with unmeasurable wealth.

However, Malice was not going to get too far with that Drowsy, annoying sound thanks to the welcome committee. She needed to get to an infirmary soon, and luckily for her, she could spot the big, white cross not too far from where she was. All she needed to do was to get to the lower floor. Through the elevator? The stairs? This place was a big maze. At least she didn't have to worry about being shot at. . . Security was tight, maybe it would be best for her to keep her guns hidden and keep a low profile. After all, she never officially checked into the Base. . . .
The tigress had her weapons put away in her pack for the occasion, and moved to the elevator. She prayed it wasn't broken at the moment, as she'd had enough exercise for the day. The ringing in her ears had dulled, though it was still near impossible to hear; anyone that tried speaking to her was met with silence, making her seem a bit absent-minded.

She was now hunched a bit, her belongings weighing down on her. She still had plenty of money on her card, more than enough to get her started on Aavos, but with all of the incidents so far, she was now uncertain if it would last long...

She sighed heavily as she got to the elevator, jabbing a button with her fist. Granted how decrepit everything looked, she doubted it was the safest method of transport, but possibly the fastest.

She rubbed at the side of her head whilst looking around for any hostile residents, the insistent ring still echoing around in her skull. The buzz only served to worsen her mood. Her teeth pulled back in a snarl as she waited expectantly.
