Thought I'd suggest an addition for the venturous residents of Bridgeport. I initially thought to put this in the World Building topic, but I wasn't sure. Do let me know if this is or isn't the right place for this post.
Maurice's Shack (aka. Holy Ground)
Location: Sits at the west edge of Old Towne, nearing the lighthouse. Getting there solely depends on who you know, though it's likely some eavesdropping can point you in the right direction. Maurice's Shack is obscured by the forests of Bridgeport and bides at the end of a narrow forest trail. Be practical and careful who you share the location with. Don't be a snitch and ruin the fun for everyone.
Service: Stressed? Depressed? Merely looking to have a good time?
Maurice's Shack provides anything from charms to herbs (legal and otherwise). Have a special drink, smoke a blunt, experience the high- anything to remove yourself from all the torments of life (it's not given the nickname 'Holy Ground' for being holy, mind you). Request something exclusive from Khali even! But, of course, it'll cost you. There are darker things that go on behind the counter, but those additional services are limited and would need some heavy coaxing to have access to.
All services are provided by Khali and Ink. May recruit additions to the staff.
Environment: It's generally laid back on 'Holy Grounds'. Though there may be some heavy language thrown around, a little sensual action, and lunacy, Maurice's Shack is fundamentally a venue of relaxation- a place to calm your nerves.. as far as you know.
During daylight hours (working hours) the shack can be used as a place of meditation. There are very few customers and it's a great opportunity to chat with the staff or sit around without the influence of any supplements.
Visual Description: The Shack consists of two makeshift cabins connected by a corridor. Customers usually lounge in the front cabin facing the beach. The front cabin serves as a saloon, containing couches, bean bag chairs, and small tables. It's lit with various lanterns that look to originate from many places around the globe and is adorned with a variety of curtains and carpets. It is also decorated with Scented candles are scattered here and there. The dense mix of fumes may be a drug in itself. Soft music is played through small speakers throughout the shaft aside from the back cabin.
The corridor is also a lounging area provided with furniture, carpets, lanterns, etc. Like the front cabin, it is exposed to the outdoors save for the mosquito nets. There is also a great number of Ghanaian pottery sitting around. Break anything and it will be paid for.
The back cabin is where Khali does his work- where all the conjuring is done, merely a veil of beads away from the corridor. This cabin is lined with books (that shouldn't be touched if one would like to remain a customer) and small trinkets of sorts. Foreign symbols look to be carved into the ground, evidence that drug exchanges aren't the only things taking place in Maurice's Shack. And is that dried blood between the floorboards?
In front of the shack and a few feet onto the beach is a basic fire pit sat in the middle of four wooden benches.
* drawings of the shack may be provided later.
Hope this shack can play a part in the Bridgeport community!
