Staying with the Neptune-Smiths had reminded Terrence of being back home with his own family, in a way. Of course, it was a different kind of family and certainly different in size, but there was nothing better than being around others in a place full of warmth and love.

That was one reason he'd wanted to leave for his own apartment as early as he could. Nice as it was, he wasn't a part of it, and returning to normality would stop him dwelling on how far he was from his birth pack. Luckily, werewolves healed quickly. It took a great deal of care, but if he moved slowly and sat down carefully, he found he could get around just fine. For the time being, leaving the house regularly was beyond him, which was why at that moment a toothy werewolf was sat on the sofa next to him drinking beer and watching a pirate recording of Tanz Der Vampire.

As the first, heavy bars of 'Totale Finistris' sounded, he wondered why neither of them had come across the musical before. Fang was even more into it than he was, nodding along to the music and trying to keep his humming inaudible. He noticed Fang glance at him as though asking permission, and he grinned back.

"EVERY NOW AND THEN I FALL APART-" They howled in unison, English lyrics overpowering the German as the chorus swelled. Terrence wasn't exactly sure how it had happened, but by the time the chorus reached its conclusion, they were swaying in each others arms, miming the words with overdramatic gestures. Terrence burst out laughing. He didn't care how silly he looked. He drew his legs up onto the sofa, laid his head on Fang's shoulder and closed his eyes contentedly.

"I've missed this."

"What, acting like an idiot?" Fang gave him an amused look. "No! Well... Maybe? What I mean is I missed hearing you sing. It's been way too long since I've been able to go to work." He sighed wistfully and felt the wolf give his shoulder a squeeze.

"You'll be back soon enough I bet. Everyone's been missing ya. I'm honestly starting to get sick of people talking about it." His wry smile let the dog know it was a joke, but he still sunk down a little, his forehead landing on Fang's chest.

"This is gonna sound really silly-" "-Nah it wont-" "-It will."

Terrence chanced another look up, and saw that Fang wasn't going to laugh at him, nor would he let this drop.

"I'm looking forward to going back again, I really am." He began. "But I'm a little nervous about going back. I knew who I was before, and I knew how to be. I suppose I'm just a bit worried about not being... Cute anymore."

Fang could have told him that of course he was cute and scars weren't about to change that. But instead in his haste to reassure the dog, he placed a light kiss on the corner of his mouth, then turned awkwardly back towards the TV. He patted Terrence's head stiffly and robotically.

Terrence felt like he should be more surprised than he was. But the truth was by this point it felt completely normal, almost as though there were no connotations at all. He snuggled down a little further, wanting to remind himself of their proximity. Though it seemed very likely, he hoped this wouldn't just be something they never acknowledged again.
