Rules and Guidelines

This group has been archived by its founder. It may still be viewed, but can no longer be joined or posted to.

  • General Rules

First and foremost, this group is all about the fun! Nothing is to be taken too seriously. This isn't a very strict group but we do ask that everyone do their best to follow the rules.

This group is for OCs only. Canon characters or fan characters won't be accepted at this time. Characters are allowed to have influences from other continuities but obvious fan characters won't really fit in.

Respect should be given to everyone in the group. OOC drama will not be tolerated. Everyone will be expected to act civilly and resolve conflicts like big boys and girls.

Though this group does have to do with violence and cursing and other more adult stuff, blatant sexual content shouldn't be posted on the forums. That kind of thing should be done privately.

In character actions have in character consequences - known as the ICAICC rule. Whatever is done RP will have consequences. If your character fails a mission, they will be subjected to punishment. If you character did extra good on a mission, they can expected to be rewarded.

RP in this group should be done in third person, preferably in past tense. Present tense is also acceptable. First person RP is frowned upon.
  • Character Guidelines

To ensure that all characters are able to interact and work together, we have some guidelines that have to be followed by everyone. Many of these character rules determine whether or not a character can be accepted into the group.

Characters should be aware that magic exists. They don't have to be a magic user but because magic and mystical powers are all over in the world Esoteric exists in, it shouldn't be a foreign concept at all.

A character's manner of dress should be fitting for the world. Jeans, t-shirts, combat boots, wristwatches, hoodies, and any kind of modern clothing won't be allowed. Clothing doesn't have to be period accurate but does have to be based on much older styles of clothing.

A character's weapons must also be fitting for the world. Guns are not allowed. While cannons do exist, small arms do not. The most common weapons are swords, bows, lances, spears, daggers, and other basic weapons.

Characters may be any kind of creature - humans, anthros, dragons, animals, spirits, fairies, centaurs, whatever! - but must be able to communicate in common language to be part of the guild. Animal characters won't be considered official members of the guild unless they can speak common language. Animal characters that can't speak may be kept as a pet or animal partner to a member of the guild.

If a character is going to be a member of the guild, they have to have some sort of skill or talent to contribute to making the guild function. Allies would have to have some sort of business, service, or skill that would benefit the guild. Enemies must have a reason to be considered a threat, whether that's information, skills, or assets.

The more powerful a character is, the bigger their weakness should be. Invincible characters or crazy god mod characters will be automatically rejected. This is especially important for Underlings and Members of the guild, who have to give up their weaknesses to the higher members of the guild. Though don't be discouraged if you have a very strong character! Each character will be looked at individually. Characters considered powerful are absolutely welcomed since the more strong the members, the string the guild.
