Dice rolls done on the forums are mostly used for combat situations. Unless everyone involved makes it clear that total freeform is okay for that thread, please use dice rolls to determine how attacks will land. The basic breakdown is as follows:

All rolls should be 1D20
Negatives, 0 to 2 - Critical Failure - Things have gone very, very badly for the character. Their attack will not hit. In fact, it's probably going to backfire horrifically. Woe is them.
3 to 6 - Weakened - Something has gone awry. An attack will still hit but it'll be more an inconvenience to their opponent than something that's going to hurt them.
7 to 14 - Just as planned - Not counting defenses of the other party, everything goes just as the character intended. There is still potential for it to go wrong or be countered by the other party but not because the attacking character did something wrong.
15 to 18 - Boosted - Luck in on the character's side. There's a slight power boost in that punch or the character didn't stumble as much as they thought they would in that dodge. Just a small bit of good fortune in their actions.
19 to 20+ - Critical Hit - Everything has gone just right for the character. Their attack will hit for sure, and harder than normal. An opening can be spotted and they can turn a dodge into a perry.

Bonuses are apply to each dice rolls made by a character except in decision making rolls. All decision making rolls are neutral. All combat dice rolls will can have a character's bonus applied. Dice Bonuses are given to each character based mostly on rank. Health, injuries, ailments, and sickness may cancel out of lessen a bonus so please keep track of your character's health and keep it updated in their character info post!

Dice Roll Bonuses:
Underling: None
Member: +2
Warden: +4
Guild Master: +6
Prisoners: -1
Allies: Varies per character
Enemies: Varies per character

Dice Roll Penalties:
Sick - -1 - A character that's suffering any kind of sickness like the flu, a cold, an infection, allergies, etc. get this penalty.
Minor Injury - -1 - A character with minor injuries like moderate cuts, major bruises, or minor burns get this penalty.
Moderate Injury - -3 - A character with major cuts, sprains/strains(treated), dislocations, and burns no worse than second degree (treated) get this penalty.
Major Injury - -5 - A character with deep lacerations, fractures (treated), and burns no worse than third degree (treated) get this penalty.
Incapacitated - -10 - A character with life threatening injuries or major injuries that have yet to be treated get this penalty.
Drunk - -2 - A character who finds themselves drunk during combat gets this penalty.

So how do you apply all this? It's easy! When you make a dice roll in a post, chose to roll once die with 20 sides. The next step is putting in your bonus. Let's say a Guild Master is drunk with minor injuries. The base bonus for a Guild Master is +6. Being drink is -2 so now the bonus is only +4. Having minor injuries is -1 so bonus loses another point. That makes the overall bonus +3. So the roll would be 1D20+3.

When posting, combat posts will be in two parts. The first part of your post will be the attempt. This is when you are going to do your dice roll. Make sure you are always rolling 1D20 and putting in your bonuses and penalties. If you forget your bonuses, your forfeit them! If your forget penalties, you'll have to repost with the proper penalties. After your post your attempt, you add a second part to you post with the effects based on your bonuses. Make sure to tag your addition with [ADD:] then the second part of the post. Alternately, just put your additions in a new post. Either way is fine!

Example:
Zuraye posts: Zu swings a baseball bat at Mar's smack-talking little mouth.
Posted with a dice roll for 1D20+6 and gets a natural 18 with the addition of +6 for a total of 24. That's a critical hit!
Zuraye posts: [ADD] Zu swung the bat with the mighty force of a thousand hurricanes that would send poor little Mar flying into the sunset if she doesn't get the heck out of the way like right now.
